The British Government, after the fall of the Ottoman Empire took control of the land which is today known as Israel and Palestine.

As of the time when the British govt took over the said land, it was actually dominated by the Arabs as majority and Jews as minority with other ethnic groups too, though in the minority.

The Jews were scattered all over the world without a place to call their permanent home. And many Jews were facing persecution in Europe then.

By 1917, Sir Arthur Balfour who was the British foreign secretary in connivance with the British high authority decided that the Jews should have a permanent home of their own.

Then a declaration was made that brought all Jews from different places to that land.

Through the British government assistance, systematic decimation was carried out by the Israelis and actively supported by the British government against the Arabs untill 1948 when the state of Israel was formed.

That sole declaration that brought the Jews and Arabs into conflict till date in what is now known as the Palestine-Israel conflict is called the Balfour's declaration.

I don't think Hamas is the problem. Experts have proffered a two state solution to end the crises yet it doesn't seem to work either because Palestinians refused to accept it or Israelis rejected it completely.

But a quick peep into what is Palestine today from when the British caused confusion between the Jews and Arabs.

Record has it that the Arabs were the majority tribe or ethnicity that was domiciled on that land with minority Jews and other ethnicities. It was Arthur Balfour's declaration that made the British govt to sort a permanent home for the Jews in 1917. That was the beginning of the conflict over there today.

Historically, the Israeli government has killed more Palestinians than what Hamas had done since it's formation in 1987.

Let's all think beyond this non binding Balfour over a century old statement and think of how peace can be made and for the next generation to live a good life .
Ancient maps have always shown the ancestral land of the Jews shares close proximity with both Egypt and Philistia (today's Palestine)
Migration through enslavement,famine and extermination has made them wandered for centuries.
Although the actual borders may be contentious.
Even ancient Philistian,Arabs can't deny the Jews,they have always been neighbors.
Part of Nigeria today is actually owned by Rep. of Benin but it's been a Long time and events have overtaken that.
Which will be almost impossible to ever reclaim.
I'm also tired of seeing Palestinians die because of HAMAS foolishness.

Hamas foolishness yea, but I tell you, the Israeli government has been killing this people for decades. What Hamas did is a fraction of what the Israeli government had been doing to Palestinians without the usual media uproar.

My grouse with Hamas and Israel is; Hamas killed those people indiscriminately. People who weren't Israelis were killed same way Israel is killing anyone in Gaza not minding what nationality he or she belongs to.

The Balfour declaration of 1917 is the genesis of this problem by the British Government after the collapse of the Ottoman Empire.

The British Government is directly responsible for the carnage and genocide going on between the Jews and Arabs in Palestine.
