patrickmuf:if Stones cannot bench Kompany on the right side Cannot bench a fellow right footed like Otamendi on the left side And stones is not being Benched due to ineffectiveness Then why is Stones being Benched bruv? simple answer abeg before I get headache. |
patrickmuf:How is that settled? you say Otamendi is a LCB which is why Stones cannot bench him Meanwhile we can clearly see Otamendi being shifted to the right to accommodate Laporte while Stones continues to pick splinters out of his arse. bruv you clearly just want to talk because you don't really have a point. |
patrickmuf:But Lindelof plays on the left side for you when he plays. How old is he? How old is laporte? sometimes it's like you people just want to talk. The same Kompany that you would pick Smalling over, is the one that is now the Messi of Mancity defence. patrickmuf:bruv I weak for your matter. |
raumdeuter:man said Otamendi is an LCB ffs ![]() |
patrickmuf:Otamendi is right footed like John Stones so there's nothing like he is a LCB. They did not stamp LCB in his forehead at birth so If Stones cannot bench Kompany, why can't he bench Otamendi? You're saying it's not about Stones effectiveness, so what is the reason? |
patrickmuf:Ok if Kompany is fit why can't Stones bench Otamendi then? Them dey forbid am to bench Otamendi? because I don't get this your logic. Stones started the season in starting eleven. He's now fourth choice centre back, but it has nothing to do with his effectiveness. Maybe Pep is racist. |
jonsnow92:I have to give Messi this one though... |
obainojazz:The French call this style "Lé Facts Onlý" |
Ibime:Well, nobody said Stones is a problem. Infact Stones has been prevented from being a problem by being bolted firmly to the bench. The reason why Stones issue came up was to counter your statement that implied that a poor midfield would cause a defender to brainfart on a regular basis. That's why i gave you an example of the best midfield in the league today being lumbered with a defender that brainfarts pin a regular basis. The moral of the story here is that Titus Bramble will not walk into a midfield of Xavi, Lampard and Makelele and automatically stop being Titus Bramble. in the same vein, Christensen in that city team would be riding the bench. Chris himself knows that he's been shït recently. If it was a case of Chris doing his job, but being let down by the midfield in front of him, he wouldn't feel the need to express his troubles in the press. He wouldn't need to go and ask John Terry for advice all the way in Birmingham. Rudiger plays with that same vacuum midfield, yet plays with a lot more confidence and is far less prone to brain farts than Chris. I have now known you for almost a decade and I sabi your ways. Call a spade a spade and stop campaigning for your agenda |
Ibime:You're forgetting that John Stones played in some of those 19 games. Remove the number of games that John Stones has played in after his Injury and give us the calculation again. Infact give us the breakdown like this: Cleansheets with John Stones on the pitch Cleansheets without John Stones on the pitch I will wait. I also don't understand what you mean by the article having no basis in facts. I am more than happy to post the video evidence of each of those brain farts if you want... |
I'm lowkey worried about West Ham. They looked hot on Saturday even if it was against a crappy Southampton side. That Arnautovic guy dey hot right now. can we switch to a back 4 and play Kante Fab Drinkwater in midfield? I still think that's our best combination right now |
Ibime:Guarantee which cleansheet? We play the same FPL. The reason you bought the more expensive Otamendi and not Stones was because Otamendi was scoring goals, not because they were keeping cleansheets. Go back and check it again. There's a reason why nobody had John Stones in the team despite him being the cheapest option on the Man City defence. In case you don't know, Man City have 3 cleansheets in their last 4 league games. infact, except for this weekend, the only games where they've Conceded in their last 10 games in all comps had only been in the games John Stones played - Basel, Wigan, Burnley and Leicester. Spot the common denominator. Christensen wants to be towing the path of that mugu. Conte should better sort him out. John Stones has been brainfarting like a mofo. Just like Christensen. |
Ibime:That's why I gave you the example of John Stones. Thank God there's no excuse of pressure valve there. Here's a description of his consecutive brainfarts City, as they have done in other areas, managed to cope without him and they have continued their fine form well into 2018, but Stones has not looked the same dominant force since he returned two months ago and in many of his performances he has committed errors which have led either to goals or near-misses.Remember that Stones plays for a team with arguably one the top 5 midfields in world football right now. Christensen has been making exactly the same time of errors in consecutive games, many unforced. So please don't tell me that midfield is the reason Christensen misplace a simple back pass to Cortouis vs Crystal Palace, or failed to track clear a simple ball in his box yesterday. If we can blame midfield for Christensens inability to defend properly, then we might as well blame midfield for Morata's problems with scoring. |
obainojazz:Don't let me call Diggz for you o |
Ibime:as a defender, it's one thing to be exposed to forwards due to a lack of midfield screening... it's a completely different thing to be brainfarting upandan, passing the ball to opposition strikers, missing clearances, or even misplacing a simple backwards pass to the keeper. One of the reasons John Stones is on the bench today is because despite that great Man city Midfield, he was making all the mistakes I mentioned up there in consecutive games early this year. Due to Stones incompetence, Pep was forced to buy another centre back in January window as a backup, so that he wouldn't have to rely on Stones when Kompany was injured. Chris is now suffering from the same disease that Stones has, and we can see the symptoms in every game. He was directly implicated in our loss to Manyoo and Spurs for example. Midfield is not an excuse for stupid defending, I'm sorry. |
hensben:Matic is a bag of beans. Midfield isn't the reason our centrebacks have been brainfarting against their opposition in Key games against top 6 opponents that we ended up losing. Midfield is also not the reason why both our 9 and our false 9 have been misfiring in recent times. Ibime has his Fabregas agenda and will always play that card to deflect from the fact that the golden boy Christensen "who would not make a mistake again" has been brainfarting in every single game since Barca first leg. We have seriously problems in attack and serious problems in defence and goal. Midfield isn't perfect but that's definitely not the only place where we are struggling. |
Danhumprey:I still have hope. That Aboki cannot chop me two years in a row ffs ![]() |
Thecassanova:This doesn't even make sense |
Greatihex:What kind of wack excuses are this? We can see clearly from the replay that Christensen initailly lagoes the ball, and to add insult to injury, Son quickly nutmegs him and slips the ball through his torros. The second ball wasn't impeded by Alonso nada. Alonso is behind Chris. The ball is in front of Chris. You need to watch that replay in slowmotion to see what happened again. Chris is actually swinging at the ball but is too slow, and Dele Alli uses a sublime touch to do 'see you later' for him. I don't want to dwell on the negatives so I wont talk about this again. https://j.gifs.com/N92Ev6.gif Good morning |
elrony:My phone dey hang bro |
Danhumprey:I don see him hand already. he has sent his regards from Nairaland prisons ![]() |
afrodoc2:Yeah Alli himself just said on Skysports now that he thinks Chris was looking at Lamela, which is why he was able to buy some space. Azpi has been shocking recently. See the way Kane Ghosted past him to pullout one cross earlier in the game. Kane with one and half leg ffs. |
Leyqute:If Son had squared that ball for a one time tapin, I would agree with you. When Son chose to squander the opportunity, we had at least 2 opportunities to clear the ball. As soon as Son took the shot and the keeper saved it, Christensen should have budayed the ball...instead he lagoed. Then second rebound he could have cleared the ball again, he missed. And then Alli drimbled him with a great touch and scored. |
afrodoc2:doc it wasn't even a clever run. he literally just ran in a straight line between the two of them, and they left him to do so. |
