1) The comparison was about overall play not just goal scoring ability. But i agree Lukaku is definitely doing better now, nobody factored Martial's fragile psyche and JM's talent erasing coaching technique in the equation.

2) The fact that Dembele and Lemar both of whom were more suited to the left wing role were glued to the bench than Matuidi tells you that was more about Deschamp and his cowardly approach than Martial (even though JM did his best to ensure Martial did not make the world cup).

3) The jury is still out on these guys, still early days but i always rated Kane and Lukaku as well.

P.S Just cos of this world cup issue, i don't think there is anyway BOTH JM and Martial are at United next season.

To be fair Lukaku is almost 3 yrs older and is still technically limited.
Right now he is better than Martial but the jury is still out on them ESPECIALLY if Martial escapes the clutches of JM.
Herrera on the other hand is about to enter his football dotage as a hardworking midfielder.
