Politics / Reasons Why Oil Marketers May Frustrate Dangote Refinery by nikky5(m): 9:58am
It is on record that the Dangote refinery has a refinery capacity of 650,000 mdd or bbd or whatever. But we are told that it has the capacity to meet our local pms demand. Nigerians including my humble self had been waiting to see the day Dangote will churn out his pms. We all were glad when eventually he did. We all had expectations too that his refined products would ameliorate the current economic challenges faced by Nigerians.
The cabals and NNPCL took over the refinery and made it a law that only NNPCL can buy PMS and sell to marketers. It is very clear that it was because of Dangote refinery that other refineries like the Kaduna, Warri and Port Harcourt refineries are still in comatose.
Dangote enjoys monopoly which he has enjoyed in some products like cement. Nigerians had anticipated a price reduction in the pump price of PMS but the reverse has been the case.
The independent marketers will stop at nothing to frustrate Dangote and his allies who are bent on making Nigerians go through more harrowing experience. The imported PMS will sell below Dangote's price and this is the only way Dangote will succumb and bring down his outrageous price.
It's is very glaring that the NNPCL are being used to frustrate the N70,000 minimum wage. With the importation of PMS, that may be the game changer Nigerians have been waiting for.
I may be wrong anyway. I am open to criticism. God bless you all.

Religion / Can You Mention Any Prophets Or Kings Who Paid Tithes In The Old Testament? by nikky5(m): 6:42pm On Sep 08
I have searched the Bible and cannot count up to ten prophets or Kings who gave tithes in the old testament.
Solomon gave a thousand burnt offerings to God. He was accepted by God.
Can you mention ten prophets or Kings who gave their tithes in the old testament?
Can you mention any five persons in the Acts of the Apostles who paid tithe? I want some clarity because the issue of tithing has enriched a lot of pastors who lived luxurious lives while their members live in penury.

Politics / The Ideal Petrol Price For Nigerians by nikky5(m): 1:17pm On Sep 05
Thanks to the Dangote refinery that has finally come to our rescue in the energy sector.
With the current inflation in the country, any hike in PMS pump price will further aggravate the sufferings of Nigerians.
In my candid opinion, the subsidy regime should be sustained. This is because I expect Dangote to sell to independent marketers or NNPCL at a reasonable price of not more than 600/700 per litre. The government can then subsidize it to at least 350/400 per litre.

What's your take on this. Remember that Dangote will be paying for crude in naira and other expenses like landing cost is no longer there.

Politics / Is There Any Hope For Nigerians Under President Tinubu's Government? by nikky5(m): 12:19am On Sep 02
We all know that the present administration of President Bola Tinubu inherited a decayed and corrupt government under Buhari.
President Tinubu didn't anticipate the rot he inherited until he was sworn in to lead Nigeria and Nigerians out of the woods. No doubt, he is making some giant strides for the restoration of Nigeria to an enviable position among the comity of nations.

Do you think that there's any hope for Nigerians after his first tenure? This is because the President is asking Nigerians to be patient with his administration. He promised light at the end of the tunnel. What's your take on this?
Religion / What God Told Me Today In The Church Concerning Tithes by nikky5(m): 11:18am On Sep 01
Few days ago I and daughter read the testimony of the seven Columbian youths who were taken by the Lord to hell and heaven.
One of them gave an account how they saw a man burning in hell fire because while he was alive, he didn't tithe.
This sparked a debate between me and my teenage children that will God send a person to hell if he or she didn't tithe.
I decided to go to God in prayer. This is because I used to tithe but I was greatly blessed with contracts during the periods I didn't tithe. So I stopped.
But this morning, the Lord spoke to me about tithing in the church.
He told me that I cannot go to hell if I don't tithe. He said He has shed His blood on the cross for our salvation and it's not mentioned anywhere in the entire Bible that none tithers will die and go to hell. He told me that pastors brought the old testament tithing to raise money for the church work. He said it is not a sin if you don't tithe and you cannot go to hell.

Religion / Will None Tithers Go To Hell? by nikky5(m): 6:39pm On Aug 30
Recently, I have heard a few of our fathers of faith in Nigeria preach that tithe defaulters will not make it to heaven when they die.

I will need further clarification on this because I have stopped paying my tithes for about three years now. I also believe in tithing as an old testament law. Well, I may be wrong in some ways. Can anyone throw more light on this please. I am a born again Christian.

Thanks.

Politics / Reasons Why This Protest Must Not Hold. by nikky5(m): 3:21pm On Jul 25
This is not the best of times for any protest in Nigeria. The old wounds of the ENDSARS is still there. We all knew what happened then especially how some innocent lives were wasted.
It is very clear that some Nigerians wants to replicate the Kenya experience without taking into cognisan the level of carnage in the aftermath of the protest.
If this protest should hold, the security agents will ensure that some people pay for this action in one way or the other. This is because it is likely to be hijacked. This action will not bring about any change because the government cannot chew more than they can bite at the moment. Yes, it's a lawful protest but I fear this may escalate as a result of the tension on ground.
I sincerely pray that this protest don't hold.
Politics / Can Nigerians Vote Out APC In 2027? by nikky5(m): 9:08pm On Jun 23
Going by the hardship Nigerians are currently going through in this country, it is evidently clear the ruling party may not get the support of Nigerians at the polls come 2027. Until this is done, the Nigeria nightmare may persist.

The mind-blowing question is, can the APC be voted out of power come 2027?
Politics / Can Nigeria Conduct A Credible Election? by nikky5(m): 10:57pm On Jun 22
The last election was near to perfect which I can offer a paltry 65% success
INEC really tried but many believe that Peter Obi scored more votes than what was recorded for him.

Is it possible to have a free and fair election devoid of manipulations where people are not disenfranchised and their votes count. Until this is done, there's no way the people can have the leaders of their choices.
What's your take on this?

Politics / The President Fell by nikky5(m): 6:20pm On Jun 12
It was unintentional and unprecedented as Nigerians saw president Tinubu fell in the motorcade he was climbing to inspect the Democracy Day celebration guard.

He fell flat but remained undeterred and resolute to perform his duty for the day. He got up and did what he was wont to do.

He is not the first on planet Earth to suffer a misstep. He is human and can happen to any other mortals.Ask Biden and Obama and they will tell you of similar experiences.

Why is the Nigeria President misstep a different one and why did many enemies of the president made a mockery of the fall. This is because the social space suddenly got inundated with all types of mockeries and derogatory outburst against their president.

It is true that Nigerians have never had any respite since President Tinubu removed the oil subsidy that has inflected pains and hardship on the citizenry. That many believe is the greatest mistake of President Tinubu who was implementing what former President Buhari signed into appreciation. The ripple effect of that policy is still inflicting hardship and hunger on Nigerians. Is that enough reason that the president is so much resented that people who hated him could mock at his fall? Such people could also wish his death. God forbid. May he live long to actualize his dream for a better Nigeria.

The president fall could be interpreted differently from what many may premise.

In life, a failed business gets back better and stronger. The fall of President Tinubu could be a good omen for Nigeria and Nigerians. Nigeria has witnessed in value and shall rise again to greater heights.

The old man fell and got up again. Sure, he will stand up stronger and better. This is the man some Nigerians during his election campaign said he didn't have the capacity to stand for ten minutes due to ill health. The Lord will continue to straighten the president.

Those who laughed at Tinubu's fall should know that they also are mortals. They could also fall in one way or the other. I also suffer similar economic fate like all Nigerians. No amount of mockery or names calling can change anything. He will never fall again.
Politics / What Were Your Expectations From President Tinubu's Democracy Day Speech? by nikky5(m): 9:21am On Jun 12
The Nigeria Labour Congress shelved their strike for the new minimum wage because of this national broadcast.

Many Nigerians too, were expecting the President to address some crucial challenges currently facing Nigerians and the way forward. This is because the President acknowledged in his speech that his reforms has had negative impact on the citizenry.

So, what were your own expectations from the President broadcast?
Politics / The Unknown Gunmen Panacea by nikky5(m): 7:24pm On Jun 11
The spate of killings of our security men ostensibly by a terrorists group by the code name "THE UKNOWN GUNMEN" unabated has gotten to a worrisome dimension. This we all know can never happen under late General Sani Abacha or General Olusegun Obasanjo (rtd).

The media is awash how our military men are sacrificing their lives almost on a daily or weekly basis in a peaceful mission. These unprovoked killings is affecting the morale of our security forces who are at the receiving end. It smacks mockery on the gallant forces and reducing them to mere weaklings courtesy of democracy.

Who are the unknown GUNMEN and what do they want that peace may reign in the South East? Why killing our forces unprovoked? Can they match their firepower with the armed forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria?

It is high time these killers who enjoy the support of the locals come out and dialogue with the government. The carrot and stick approach may suffice to restore peace in that zone. This is because this mindless killings have to stop.

I do not know if the unknown gunmen hide under the garb of IPOB which is a proscribed terrorist organization. If that's the case, the government can still extend the carrot approach to them. It's not about the military but Nigerians who are pained at these mindless killings of our military personnel. If the military should unleash ODI style, am sure, many will start to cry genocide.

The government from those regions have not done enough to curb the manace of the unknown gunmen. This is not the way to attract foreign investors and grow their region.

I pray that the government will find a lasting solution to these mindless massacre because one day jungle go mature.

Crime / What's The Difference Between EFCC And NPF? by nikky5(m): 9:21am On Jun 08

Religion / Hardship In Nigeria: Has God Abandoned Us by nikky5(m): 10:22am On Jun 07
I can still remember vividly in the last two decades how many Nigerians in different denominations have been praying for the betterment of their country.

Every successive government comes with it's attendant challenges. Nigerians groan in every government and fervently prayed for divine intervention to salvage whatever is left on the stables. No reprieves rather it's been same old narratives of hardship and pains.

This year seemed worst after voting in the incumbent. Lots of Nigerians are going through excruciating hardship that the media got awash with suicidal stories. Who did we offend and how did we get in here that many have lost faith in the country. Are there invincible forces fighting against the liberation of Nigerians from these perennial narratives of pains and untold sufferings.

I want to believe that God has forsaken this nation probably due to our sins ranging from shedding of innocent blood and injustice. This is because the government seemed overwhelmed with the ongoing challenges bedeviling our country. The recent reversion to the old anthem comes to mind. This presumably was done to reposition the country to her lost glory.

Don't you think that except the Lord build the house, those that build do so in vain. We really need God's intervention at this stage of our national life.

Some said it's because of a stolen mandate which I believe it's not true. The present administration has the capacity to reposition Nigeria for greatness. Let's keep praying for Nigeria and the president.

Politics / Hardship In Nigeria: Is President Tinubu Aware? by nikky5(m): 11:03pm On Jun 06
Our president as we all know is a very busy person with a large retinue of daily scheduled activities. I Wondered if he has the time to listen to news or read the dailies.

Recently, I started to ask myself if he's aware of the pro max level of hardship Nigerians are going through as a result of his policies. Does he know the prices of foodstuffs in the market since he took over the reigns of government in this country. Of course, his wife does not go to market and have no business about how the presidency runs it's affairs. If president Tinubu knows the cost of one bag of rice and other essentials, I am very sure he will reject the proposed N60,000 as minimum wage. Who will tell President Tinubu what we are doing through?
Politics / Can Nigeria Return To Regional Government? by nikky5(m): 3:36pm On Jun 05
Nigeria democracy seems to be one of the most expensive in the world. There had been insinuations that the country may return to the old regional government going by the recent adoption of the old National Anthem.

In my candid view, I don't see it's workability. Nigeria is a very complex society and some regions like the North will never accept it for reasons best known to you and me.

If on the long run a bill for it's return is passed, do you think there can be a reversion? Just thinking loud.
Politics / The Aba Killings: What The Military Should Have Done (opinion) by nikky5(m): 9:40am On Jun 01
In the last two decades the Nigeria military has been fighting internal wars on several fronts. The battle against kidnappings, banditry and militia groups got messier in the last few years.

The recent killings of our soldiers in Aba few days ago when the terrorists declared a sit-at-home to celebrate their Biafra Day or whatever was avoidable.

Prior to that day, the IPOB had warned students sitting for the ongoing WAEC exams to remain in their houses and the schools shut. They also sent a warning to a university VC. They were trying to avoid a bloodbath.

I had expected our military to immediately respond to this threat in a show of force with battalion of soldiers and armoured tanks parading all the streets in the south East. I had expected to see the Tucano fighter jets in combat ready mode to forestall any breakdown of law and order. I remember President Olusegun Obasanjo.

These IPOB miscreants enjoy the support of the locals who cheers them whenever they go rampaging on the street on a killing spree. These evil people do not reneg on their threats or warnings to perpetrate evil. Besides, this is not the first time they have been killing our soldiers. The rate at which these terrorists kill our soldiers in the south east should have put our military on red alert that there will be a confrontation. Our military has been demystified by these IPOB because they have been killing our soldiers without any collateral damage. If the Odi treatment had been applied this nonsense would have stopped.
In my own opinion as a civilian without any military training, it's high the military prioritize the safety of their personnel in any operations. Killers of our soldiers must not go unpunished. There must be consequences for such actions that will send a strong warning to the perpetrators that their action will invite unparalleled retaliation to their community. Killing our soldiers in an unprovoked manner like must stop.
May the souls of our departed gallant soldiers rest in peace.
