Miracle still happen in our days.
About three weeks ago, during a prayer meeting. People brought sealed Eva bottled water to be prayed for.

On getting home, one of the women poured some of the water into the well that has been dried for six months. The tenants woke up to see large volume of water in the well. The landlord became paralysed instantly.

I have witnessed numerous miracles especially healing miracles.

Just that not everyone makes noise. It's not a passport to heaven.

The summer schools are organized by private school operators at the end of the third term. Most of them usually give their teachers a week break after the end of the term.

There are many reasons why no sane private school owner will turn a blind eye on the summer holiday coaching.

Depending on the school, many I knew organize lots of interesting extra curricular activities to engage the learners.

1. Fear of losing their pupils/students

Of course, there are many competitors in the private school business. School owners use this period to woo learners to their schools by organizing very good programmes for the children. Most often times, it is during this period that parents who newly relocated look for schools for their children.

2. Parental wish

Most working class parents will not want to keep their children at home while they are away at work for various reasons ranging from insecurity and abuse. It's during the long vacations that some children fall prey to evil neighbours. They learn all manner of unprintable and soul damning things because their parents are not at home. Some parents complain that they eat too much food and play to the extent that they have no time read their books at home.

3. Monetary gains

I know schools in Lagos that record as high as three hundred summer school learners who pay a minimum bof N5,000 each. Do the mathematics band you will realise how much they make during this period. Such money is used to settle bills and pay salaries.

4. Teachers employment

Most teachers that may not resume in the new academic session would have signified during the summer. It's usually the period you see alot of vacancies for teachers. It's usually the best time to organize micro teachings for new applicants.

There are many more reasons why school owners organize the summer schools which I cannot state here. I am not a school owner but they are my clients.

There are hidden truths why the government is granting amnesty to the Boko Haram terrorists. Ask yourself, will the government have done same to the Independent People of Biafra( IPOB), who are armless group of people who peacefully agitate for their freedom?



Despite the mindless killings of innocent people in almost every region of the country by the herdsmen, why didn't the government designate them as a terrorists organization? Has there ever been a situation before the advent of this administration that Fulani herdsmen carry assault rifles such as AK 47 to perpetrated mayhem and encroachment on people farmlands?

At a point, the president defended these people by saying that they are innocent grazers ,and that ,foreign herders invaded the country to kidnap, rustle and kill innocent people.

Surely this government knows what they are doing especially as regards the war against insurgency. The military authorities has told us that they cannot reveal the names of the sponsors of the Boko Haram terrorists. The governor of Borno state at a press conference confessed that the soldiers knew where the Boko boys are based.



The question that begs for urgent answer is who is being fooled in this country? Of course, you and I who are sympathetic to this genocide that has ravaged the northeast for over a decade with unabated mindless killings of innocent Nigerians in their homeland.

When this battle of insurgency kick-started in 2009, the church was the first target. The non indigenes were not spared.Many thousands of them were killed. At that time,the northerners and their leaders were silent. They seemed to enjoy the show. These group of blood suckers frustrated the administration of Goodluck Jonathan,the immediate past president of the Federal republic of Nigeria. I remembered how Jonathan cried most times whenever he visited the scenes of the Boko Haram carnage. Some Nigerians started calling him a weakling and weeping president. At a point he cried out to the whole world that some elements of Boko Haram were in his government.



During Jonathan's government, General Ihiejirika ,who was the theatre commander,was accused by the northern leaders of killing their people (Boko Haram ). During this time, the Boko Haram terrorists takes refuge among the people to shield them from the military. They enjoyed massive support from the locals who thought the terrorists were fighting a holy war They moved in convey and the people hailed them. Unknown to them that they were playing with a timed bomb waiting to be detonated. The gullibles didn't know that a time was coming when their lives will not be spared and their villages deserted.

General Ihiejirika was accused of impropriety and genocide. He was also threatened by the north that he would be brought before the International Criminal Court( ICC) in the Hague to face charges of war against humanity. Today, it's a forgotten story. His actions at the battle field haid been vindicated by the rising wave of insecurity in the north east. The soldiers that served under him were lucky because they never recorded the type of massacre that befell their colleagues today. He was indeed a very good soldier and a warrior as par excellence.

Today, that narrative has changed. General Buratai being the most senior officer in the Nigerian army remains the best man for the job. He has done creditably well in the prosecution of this war. He is also a Moslem from the North east. The Boko Haram terrorists are angry that their brother is fighting and killing them.



This is where the paradigm shift on empathy comes in. You cannot continue to kill fellow Muslims especially when they believe that they are fighting a holy war. This fact was recently corroborated by an ex soldier from Delta State. He was a sniper who had killed many of the insurgents in the war. He was shot by a northern soldier who accused him of killing too many boko Haram terrorists. The Hausas love their brothers.

Those who mooted the advice fior granting amnesty to one of the world most dreaded terrorists that have refused the amnesty deal. Many times are northerners in power. They are the northern oligarchs who are apologetic to the cause of the terrorists. Even the current president was once quoted in one of the dailies that " War against Boko Haram was war against the North." They see it as olive branch that could lure the blood suckers out of the trenches.

The northerners in power believe that if they continued killing these boys, it will greatly affect the population of the youths in the north. That would translate to a reduction of their men in the armed forces where they seemed to have great advantage over other regions.

The present day authorities believed that some of these boys were coersed or conscripted into the sect So they deserve a soft landing which include amnesty and educational sponsorship. The question is, are these boys interested in education which they claimed is "Haram" meaning forbidden. The meaning of Boko Haram is " Western Education firbidden." Have they ever been to school? If they were educated and enlightened like the southerners ,they would' never have joined the terrorists group under the guise of religious war.

Their leaders understood that insurgency was a product of failed governance in the North. Their leaders believed in the Almagiris system. That was why Goodluck Jonathan built the Almagiris schools to educate their children. At the end of the day, he was almost crucified, and today, the schools are a shadow of themselves. These people don't like the western education. Only a few of their educated people send their children to schools.

The present day government understood these truths. So what do you expected them to do? Your guess is as good as mine. They cannot extend this gesture to other regions in the country. A good example is the mindless killings of IPOB members who were armless. Just a group of protesters and the army vented their spleen on them and even called them national security risk.

Why do you think Chad is winning this war against the insurgents. That country is smaller than most states in Nigeria. The population of their military strength is a far cry from the Giant of Africa. They dealt mortal blows on the insurgents because they adopted the right approach not minding whose ox was goad. At a point, they had to rescue our troops who had been held hostage by the terrorists. Some months ago, their president also went to war against the insurgents to boost the morale of their troops. Later, the Nigerian government replicated same by sending the service chiefs to the theatre of war.

Candid speaking, this government has done creditably well in this war against insurgency. They have better results than during the Jonathan's administration that squandered the security votes meant for the prosecution of this war. I am sure you remember the Dasukigate. During that administration, many local governments in the north east were under the control of the insurgents who had almost set up their caliphate in Gwoza, a town in southern Borno state.

But the idea of granting amnesty is a northern oligarchs agenda. Many are benefitting from these war that has enriched their pockets not minding the carnage.



As a matter of fact, in no distant time, a commission would be set up in the North like that of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, to cater for only repented terrorists. A lot of money would be pumped into this conduit pipe for not only politician to siphon money but also their children. Many would claimed to have left the trenches without any veracity. The lazy and jobless youths would be collecting monthly stipends, in the guised of rehabilitated repentant insurgents. Free money for all. Many of them will shout " Kudi Nigeria ne, ba na uban kowa." It translates to " It's Nigeria's money, not any one's father's."This just the road map to that conduit. The northern politician sees other regions as pawns on the political chestboard of Nigeria politics.

About a week ago, over six hundred repented terrorists whose weapons were not displayed for the public were re-radicalized and paid the sum of N20,000. Very soon ,many repented insurgents will surface to get their own share while the real Boko Haram fighters who are better paid are in the trenches. One of their commanders arrested by the Chadian troops attested to this. The terrorists are well funded so the government paltry one off payment of N20,000 cannot be good baits.

The indisputed truth remains that this is an endless war. The terrorists have become more sophisticated and deadly in their operations. The Nigerian armed forces have never seemed it fit to up their game by the usage of current technological warfare.

Granting amnesty to repentant Boko Haram terrorists is nicer the best option at this point in time. It has never abated the kidnappings and executions of innocent civilians and the military by the insurgents. No country in the world would adopt this approach that will yield no meaningful result in the war against insurgency. But the fact remains that he who pays the piper dictates the tune. We only pray and hope that this amnesty does not produce a counterproductive outcome in the nearest future
