Following my Nikkah too, i was given a certificate (Marriage) by the Islamic body that officiated it. Thereafter, I did an official "Declaration of Marriage " at the Federal High Court Abuja. The later is the document as submitted as Marriage certificate. If you don't have a Declaration of Marriage yet, you should still be able get one from a law court new you. (What i am not sure of is if the disparities of dates would matter)

I too did newspaper change of name but no affidavit. Without a sworn affidavit, it is not officially legal

First, you should have a marriage certificate as that is the basic proof of your marriage.

The name on your passport wont raise a red flag as long as it was not renewed AFTER you had already done your change of name (Newspaper publication & court affidavit etc) so why dont you proceed with the change of name before EE or ITA to avoid AOR.

For question 2 - they do not care whichever name you decide to use BUT whichever name you choose to proceed, get ready/ attach supporting

documents of change of name, in addition, you could also tell hubby to notarise a letter that you are using his first name.

I use my fathers 1st name (since birth). Even before EE started, when my mum applied for PR 11years ago (2006), despite the fact that 2 of us (siblings) were no longer her dependants, they requested she get a notarised letter from my dad that we are not bearing his surname before she was eventually given her PR & our last born who was still a dependant then left with her.

In short, proof beyond reasonable doubts that you are still the same person

Hi Solomon, its not worth taking that risk. Infact, the CRS point system is structured in a way that if favours young, single unmarried individuals than married people. Check your likely CRS score online.

Dont also forget that yout Proof of funds also increases with marriage.

For marriage confirmation, a marriage certificate, newspaper publication for females, your

application becomes stronger when her passport is in your name.

It costs 30 k. Issued from pcn Abuja and sent from there to pebc via nipost . You can apply via your pcn office or from Abuja. Pay via remitta, write a letter stating the address where it should be posted to, attach your 30 k receipt, proof of current license and last year license copy. Since you are an intern guess yours will be the provisional license. Still confirm from your pcn state office. All the best

If you read through the Ielts instructions after registration, it will show you how to include the name. Full candidate number (NGO- (etc) then the full name of the person as seen on the passport)

Screen munch or save proof of payment and forward to the person. The person will be required to send a confirmation mail to British council to confirm payment.

Please note that all these are included in the instructions after registration for better guidance.

My hubby is the PA and we didn't do registry but we got marriage certificate from mosque 1004 mosque to be precise,

The question is do I still need to do change of name or just the marriage certificate is enough?

He wants us to use his middle name not his surname , hope there won't be any issue ( if
there's need for change of name)?
