Stop talking on what you have very limited knowledge of...from the guy's comment, he is talking with very good knowledge of the industry.

Your various type of fish is expensive in the market for various reason...depending on if its local like your sailor friend gives you or if its imported.

BTW....keep praying for your sailor friend's life.....the job is about the most dangerous job in Nigeria now.....the sea pirates have made fish trawling business in Nigeria a very risky thing, that explains why most of the fish trawling companies have folded up except for about 2 or 3 now.

Mr President: Good analysis. And for over a year now issuance of licences to import fish has been put on hold. Technically any frozen fish in the market is unlicensed and illegally imported.

Yes..the half year fish import license is under suspension...effective from the July 2013, however some major members of AFISUN have huge numbers of Form M's already established prior to the suspension of license ...they are still importing partials on those Form M's...so technically speaking not all frozen fish in the market is illegally imported. Without a valid for Forex Form M...importers will have problem remitting bills to suppliers oversea.

BTW....the minister is about to sign the directive authorizing the FDF to start issuing licenses. Some big guns in AFISUN have complained at the highest level of goverment.

This story is one sided.....this is poor journalism at best and a mischevious report at worst . We can't even refer to it as an investigative journalism.

Where is the side of the story from the company ?

Am sure there must have been a very strong reason to have moved some offices from Niger -Delta to Lagos. Ordinarily any company will want to be headquartered near it operational base unless some strong forces push otherwise..perhaps the company was tired of the incessant threats from the local communities and militants...thus necessitating a wise movement to the relatively very safe Lagos.

I won't blame the company until their own side of the story is published.
