Nairaland / General / Look Around You, God Has Been Faithful! by NinaTohBadt(f): 8:27am On Jan 03, 2016 |
Yes, only God could have done it. For all of us alive today. You , me and the others. I believe God is faithful. A lot of evils struck around us that we wondered how we were able to escape. We were on the road for umpteenth times in 2015,yet we are among the living today. Some of us were never involved in accident. Some of us that saw or tasted some bits of accidents, be it domestic,on the roads, in seas or in the space or even at the place of work, were still spared. It could not have been anyone else, but God. Like this, we marked the first Sunday of the year in 2015 , what did we contribute to the circle of life for us to stay afloat. It could not have been the food we consumed-the quantity or its quality. Or you want to say that the food you ate preserved your life? Those who ate kinglike food perished. Or perhaps, you thought the medical treats at your disposal helped sustained you. NO. Learnt of one man, though it might not be only him, who had fortunes spent on him in order to live. Yet he did not make it. Are you still doubting? Look around. Look up. And look down. Do you not feel a Power above all other means, whose hand you see, changing circumstances to Favour you? If not, how many times in the night in 2015, you had been afraid you might not see the next day? You were not ill,but just having some roaming wild thoughts . And here you are today. Where do you want to place God today- first Sunday in 2016? If not for the Creator of the universe, the Maker of Heaven and the earth, who has thus helped you see today? Who could have helped you grow your interests? Or you want to say your knowledge or your intelligence? Have you not seen or heard and wondered why those who were there before you crumbled and never picked up again? It could have only been God Almighty, the Source of wisdom and knowledge. In the last year, you heard of many wonderful acts of this God,at least, few on KFB , are you not expectant that yours is next? HE that has brought you thus far will not leave you nor forsake you. Thank HIM for the precious gift of life you have. Many would have wished they traded their possessions for their lives. Trust HIM for the power HE has to sustain you in 2016. Me and all mine, could have been by God. CULLED FROM :- http://www.kemifilani.com/2016/01/kfb-only-god-could-have-done-this-we.html?m=1

Nairaland / General / Somethings Are More Important (so Touching) by NinaTohBadt(f): 8:13pm On Dec 23, 2015 |
SON: "Daddy, may I ask you a question?" DAD: "Yeah sure, what is it?" SON: "Daddy, how much do you make an hour?" DAD: "That's none of your business. Why do you ask such a thing?" SON: "I just want to know. Please tell me, how much do you make an hour?" DAD: "If you must know, I make $100 an hour." SON: "Oh! (With his head down). SON: "Daddy, may I please borrow $50?" The father was furious. DAD: "If the only reason you asked that is so you can borrow some money to buy a silly toy or some other nonsense, then you march yourself straight to your room and go to bed. Think about why you are being so selfish. I work hard everyday for such this childish behavior." The little boy quietly went to his room and shut the door. The man sat down and started to get even angrier about the little boy's questions. How dare he ask such questions only to get some money? After about an hour or so, the man had calmed down, and started to think: Maybe there was something he really needed to buy with that $ 50 and he really didn't ask for money very often. The man went to the door of the little boy's room and opened the door. DAD: "Are you asleep, son?" SON: "No daddy, I'm awake". DAD: "I've been thinking, maybe I was too hard on you earlier. It's been a long day and I took out my aggravation on you. Here's the $50 you asked for." The little boy sat straight up, smiling. SON: "Oh, thank you daddy!" Then, reaching under his pillow he pulled out some crumpled up bills. The man saw that the boy already had money, started to get angry again. The little boy slowly counted out his money, and then looked up at his father. DAD: "Why do you want more money if you already have some?" SON: "Because I didn't have enough, but now I do. "Daddy, I have $100 now. Can I buy an hour of your time? Please come home early tomorrow. I would like to have dinner with you." The father was crushed. He put his arms around his little son, and he begged for his forgiveness. It's just a short reminder to all of you working so hard in life. We should not let time slip through our fingers without having spent some time with those who really matter to us, those close to our hearts. Do remember to share that $100 worth of your time with someone you love? If we die tomorrow, the company that we are working for could easily replace us in a matter of days. But the family and friends we leave behind will feel the loss for the rest of their lives. And come to think of it, we pour ourselves more into work than to our family.
