Wait guys are we so crazy in this cave hole called Nigeria? |
Hi @All, I have asked myself this question; 'Who's at fault'? Who should be responsible for a "job-well-done" . Believe me, it's extend beyond clients willingness to increase payment standards. We have seen overpriced projects in the past with quack return. Let me move-out from web/application environment. "What is your National identification Number", Do you realise how much of tax-payers money was invested? what was the result? , Wait, have just timed out.@DHTML, @Dual-core long time - Please c-out it to SEUN - nitation |
is running now. Thanks |
Is it only my connection? I think saharabet.com is down. Please help |
@Poster, Rather go with frameset. You create a top frame and include the body throughout your webpage. |
Good to hear that. Try as much as possible to read more than one article before deciding on what to choose or use. |
Good point @Yawatide @Moderator, I have posted three response to this topic and they keep disappearing. Is that bot at work again? Anyway, I need a super-mod privileges. |
The output is a notice and not a programming error. It's a good practice to set variables before using them. example: if(isset(var_name)){ condition here } Confirm if you have this in process.php error_reporting(E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE); If not, try the below code:

Did you receive my last post? |

Can you provide the error message you received ![]() |
Am glad you were able to solve that. Your second question is more unless the first, i would strongly advice that you read and understand HTML parameters before going further with your PHP lessons. After looking through your code, there isn't any name attributed to your submit button, which in most cases, will not perform the action you required it to. What error are you receiving on process.php? change

change <input type="submit" value="search">to
Also, in resultsbyname.php type the following:

Try altering the table engine to Myisam. It worked for me in the past though :d |
@Yawa, you forgot about me now after our first dinner you decided to pull all those stunts. Anyway, i enjoyed those lips certainly. Back with all force from the atlanta ship, can they beat that? |
@lolz - very good question you posted here. |
Nice try though, before you know it you will be developing large applications and branding for corporate institutions. I remembered back then in Lagos, the first time I saw a friend's sub domain, it was "faithweb" from freeservers/50megs. I was so so interested that I spent hours - days learning how to be a developer. What a memory you brought back. Kudos - nitation |
@lager Sometimes the best remain underneath if they don't map their strategies correctly. As for the dreamweaver issue, the software is not meant for the beginners, else, you will end up with series of bug. For instance you are in an interview and you have been asked to program/code using Notepad (windows plain text editor), you will run into problems for sure. I have encountered this in the past. How many of us here can program a complete website using Notepad? thats the question we should be asking! My view is, learn the basic/structure/features of HTML/CSS before full-speeding with DW - nitation |
fulll timeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee |
Where have you been? that it took you six months to fix a line of code in dream-weaver and you dont expect anyone to comment? common contribute to the topic and stop filling the database with crap - nitation |
You are mixing things up here. I didn't say sorry to you because my comments were wrong! I need you to get that straight. I said Sorry about how you understood it. They are two different things. On one belittled unless you are feeling inferior. This topic really shows how many people I am a threat to. Keep on coming - nitation |
Since Xanadu opened the way for you! Rain all your claims on me throughout the months. I will be glad to read them. Or you want me to say sorry to you too techpros. Since that is your opinion about storing sessions, so be it. Less I forget, Xanadu, you haven't commented on the topic itself. What would you prescribe as the best method? - nitation |
I can see you have a well detailed evidence against me. Trust, the battle cannot be won if stubbornness is the next lane to cross. And your post about cut-and-paste knowledge, where was that coming from? Anyway, I have a lot on my sleeve this evening and I wouldn't wanna continue to prove myself right for no one. Xanadu - You called it arrogance, I say it's passion. I will let NL be and let the best help with problems. More grace to your elbow -nitation |
@ Yawatide You are very correct here. It all resolve to your signature line "Great minds attack issues, little minds attack personalities" press my button on the next line it's important. - nitation |
Saying you haven't worked on larger project was disrespectful? I didn't realise that! The motive wasn't to insult or down-grade your potentials! You know what you know, if it works for you - so be it. I am not in any position to force you to believe or read my facts right. Again, there is nothing wrong with you haven't developed the so-called " bigger project". I am not an employer who's interested in anybody's CV. The point here was all about Saving sessions in DB or the default location. Anyway, That thing you're looking for, I know it. S O R R Yif you misunderstood me. - nitation |
@ Xanadu I think you are mixing this room for Games or Politics. You better borrow a binocular. Rubbish |
@ Xanadu On the contrary, you are totally off topic! What is wrong with this forum, once we can't provide substantial response to a topic or we observe that someone is commenting positively, the next thing is to insult! You don't fucking have any reserve right to label me in such manner - Maggot! @ Kolitos Were you waiting for someone to help you to insult nitation all this while. So you have a burning worm in your left stomach for the past months. Common whats wrong with your guts. @Moderators I hope you guys are viewing cos it's totally uncalled-for - nitation |
Yes I have worked on large interactive data, I work in a company that we provide learning applications for schools, this involves a lot of logins and cookie sessions. Some of your points require proper explanation. "How does DB involvement affect a server when the application is properly developed" . I mean in every way possible. Secondly, I think your organisation needs to take a proper look into the security fence of Ruby and Rails as Twitter and 37signals have suffered a blow. As their front-end's was developed using Ruby with malformed UTF-8 sequence. Finally, I will say this and i don't expect you to accept! Imagine a situation whereby your website requires more than one server for it to satisfy it task . You have to handle the sessions across all servers, isn't it - How would you go about that if you have it (sessions) reside on a tmp file on a single server. Session handling and manipulation goes beyond "several logins for school" no offense. - nitation |
The simple answer to your point kolitos is because, the more interactive your program becomes, the more the database involvement. By your tone, it seems you haven't worked on large applications in the past or else, you should have a general idea about what we are talking about. Kudos to your observation though: - nitation |
