With every sacking things appear to get worse. Even this interim appointment of Fletcher dey risky. He has been coaching for less than 6 months.

The first thing I did when I hear the news was to go to check out points in the table to make sure say relegation no dey possible this season again.

Like I always say, the sacking of a coach is not the main issue but the appointment of the replacement is where we stumble. We also need to improve in squid building.

The only manager left that I have some hope in is Nagelsmann but he is another philosophy king. With the last 2 appointments those philosophers don dey scare me.

Fletcher is taking over on an interim basis, no? They did not say he will be here until summer. It’s the blogs saying he will ‘likely’ be. Won’t there be an interim for the next few games until another manager is appointed?

Whilst I agree that the squad can be improved on, you can't argue that if properly set up and managed, they're few teams in the league with better squad depth and overall quality.

Some are saying the poor results are due to squad planning etc. Na the board injure 5 key players? Who decided to play the same set of players without thinking about the implications of some of the starting 11 not available? What was the result when we had the full squad available?

The current squad should be top 2/3 based on what’s happening in the league today.

They underestimated the level of Amorim’s rigidity and cluelessness. I don’t buy the excuse of not adapting because you want to keep your philosophy. It’s absolutely stupid given the level of adaptability and flexibility required. The Portuguese league is number 6 in Europe. Rigidity might work in a low quality league but not in the number 1 league in the continent/ world.

I don’t like Ineos at all, but to be honest, they have put in place the so called structure fans were craving for. I do agree that they got it wrong with manager appointment. I would assume that they thought they could get him to do their bid given he’s a young manager seeking professional progress or the well experienced CEO, director etc did tell him what they were looking to achieve irrespective of the 3-4-3 nonsense.

But getting the wrong manager for a particular system and structure is a common issue across clubs. You realize it early and move on. Unfortunately, Amorim is a fish bone in their throats. Management does not want to follow the ‘sack and fire’ approach that most fans hate, hence the reason Amorim is still here.

I really think Ineos is giving the fans what they wanted. I remember the whole conversation and demand for a structure in place with the said structure determining the style of football we want to play. We would only need a manager that will come in to play based on the players signed for him and the style to play. The only mistake they’ve made is to get someone like Amorim who is inflexible and is insisting on playing a particular formation.

Amorim should stop moaning and whining about the concept of coach vs manager and start getting results by adapting. The 3-4-3/5-2-3 nonsense won’t take us anywhere. It’s mainly for mid and bottom table teams that want to have 5-6 defenders on the pitch.
