Honestly, this team is way better than this. Way better.

It’s normal to miss chances, it about creating so many chances against these sides with low conversion rate. Against the big guns, it’s fine to have a high conversion rate with fewer chances created.

I've always wondered why many posts on this thread bother on a far-right, anti-immigrant sentiment. Folks calling themselves 'third world', hating on other brown folks and constantly berating the country they live in etc. Reminds me of the recent Mehdi Hassan interview with far-right folks where a Latino dude got an awakening.

There's little in terms of substance on the actual reality of living in Canada here. I initially thought the Nigerian community in Canada is relatively not as robust but thats hardly the case. If not that I'm in Canada, I'd have mistaken the sentiment here for the reality. Folks I interract with have little bother about most of this.
The question becomes, why has this place become a venting ground for Nigerians fed up with Canada? Also, why is there little substance in terms of the wider reality of navigating Canada here?
Brah, you are the problem! People are having real conversations about the state (and reality) of their country. Every topic discussed here affects Canadians and immigrants one way or the other. So, calm down!

Amorim still publicly blaming his players, said he did not know the formation the players played in the first half against Grimsby Town. I wonder what the dressing room will be like currently, i just pray the players respond positively by winning games and playing well going forward...

This guy will crash very soon. He is insisting on doing things his (and only one) way, and not ready to be flexible. You see those players (including the new signings), they will eventually frustrate him and snuff life out of him over time, and there is nothing he can do about it. I am so sure he doesn’t speak anymore with majority of the players.

This season is lost already!

It's irrelevant here

Bottom line is that Pep avoided and doused tension in an intelligent manner. There are numerous scenarios that he managed in similar fashion...with players of less pedigree

Amorim on the other hand, would have gone on his usual rants. His antecedents are there for all to see.

His Terrible records at man management are well documented.

This was one of the numerous quotes after the lad had joined Villa.

It wasnt a one-off because he still went ahead to talk about Antony..even when that one had joined Betis...

Amorim is a notorious talkative who has granted numerous non-value adding interviews about UTD players. The records are there for all to see.
One pack of cold beer for you!

cheesy

That's an Emotionally Intelligent manager who would rather douse tension and prevent the press from fuelling the flames of discord and rift in his team.

He could have leveraged on his reputation and made issues out of it but he didnt.

Some managers are just not ready for jobs at certain clubs
Someone was comparing Amorim’s actions to Pep’s the other day, re man management. Pep that has won everything in football, and despite that, still find ways to effectively manage his players. Yes, there are one or two rifts which happen once in a while. Meanwhile, Amorim has fought with 5 players in less than one year. Chai!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by nitrogen(m): 1:14pm On Aug 29, 2025
People saying the players could have won the game without the manager’s input. Question is, what if the current system and instruction limits them from playing their game? It’s one thing to allow the players to do their thing without restrictions, it’s another to impose some shitty system on them and expect them to do their thing.

Tie a professional boxer’s hands against a rookie, and expect the boxer to win, no be juju be that? He will be beaten mercilessly.

Amorim has a chance tomorrow to make his supporters happy. It’s Burnley. If we don’t beat them, and he does not get sacked immediately after that game, we are surely relegating. Funny thing is the EFL championship is also not a joke. Amorin boys, be careful what you wish for.

Also he's definitely not a good man manager. You guys think being a good man manager is freezing everybody out but It's ensuring things don't even get to that level.
Under Ferguson and even Ole, we had plenty competition in the squad, and hardly did anyone make any noise.

The only manger we have signed and didn't improve us immediately was Amorim. You all keep peddling this narrative that sacking managers have not improved us which is a big fat lie. Some of you are just waiting for the next Ferguson who would stay here for 15years. Van gaal gave us top 4 and a trophy, Mourinho gave us top 2 and two trophies, Ogs had us finishing top 3 in back to back seasons and an European final, Erik finished top 4 and two trophies. So where's the narrative coming from that changing underperforming managers at United have been a failure. All clubs sack Managers that are not performing. If slot starts slacking and drops to 8th or thereabout Liverpool won't hesitate to sack him. Tottenham didn't hesitate to sack Ange who won them their first trophy in over fifteen years. Some of you are just too sentimental.

Lol, tell that to Madrid, Barca etc. See what Vini did last week after Alonso benched him? These days, a manager needs to find ways to manage egos. Players are bigger than coaches nowadays and there is nothing anyone can do about it. If you get strong head as a manager, you will lose out on talents and won’t be successful. It is what it is!

It took Sir Alex Ferguson 5 years to get things right.

It took Klopp 5 years to get things right.

It took Arteta 5 years before he started competing for the league.

It took Pep 2 years & that’s because he had an unlimited budget.

Ruben Amorim deserves more time.
So, Klopp, Arteta, Pep and Alex were close to relegation in those years? These examples don’t make sense, unless you are trolling us.

It's just funny. Let's be real abeg. With the way things are, any coach will come here and struggle. Chelsea didn't even need to sign Garnacho. But they signed him. Them dey sign for fun. Sign and send on loan. I think they also wanted to sign Ensicio from Brighton and send on loan. Laying foundation for a coach to come and work.

We neither lay foundation or support coaches with adequate results but we the fans will come and blame coaches. We just need to wake up. If Amorim is sacked we will still find ourselves in this same situation. The new coach might go back to 4-3-3 but will still find ourselves struggling to enter top 6.

With the way the board is moving, it's better to just stick to one coach that can do his rubbish till it works.

If they want to hire and fire, let them do it like others are doing it.
You don’t mind us relegating as well? Which would you prefer, stick with Amorim and battle relegation or change manager to improve our chances of making top 10?

•For manager joining newly at a big club, public condemnation of your players in big 2025 would most likely cause more harm than good. It is even worse when the manager has ZERO EXPERIENCE managing big egos, superstars and Global household names. The "Hey guys, a new sherrif is in town. Y'all better shape up or ship out" approach would work better at places like Sporting where the players are relatively unknown, and the club under less scrutiny.

•There was absolutely no reason for his disparaging comments about Rashford in the public domain. It was so bad that he kept on talking about the fella even when that one had joined Villa. He literally made the whole thing look personal with his constant tirades and comments.
Guess who couldn't resist the urge to talk about Antony's performances at Betis?

•One would have thought that he was in a transitional phase at that time, only for him to open his big mouth and chat shít about Maino just last week. Did he need to insinuate that he is unfit for the system? Was the remark about him competing with Bruno for a slot necessary? I keep on wondering what has happened to the Normal "XYZ is a good player - there are enough games to go round for everyone" Mantra.

•Labelling your team as the worst in the history of the club, talking about endless suffering and threatening the players with clear outs would almost always complicate things at a big club. It is worse when the manager in question is new and has NO pre existing PEDIGREE or REPUTATION per say.

•All i see is a man trying to instill FEAR in his players. An Emotionally intelligent manager would be more concerned with RESPECT, especially under the aforementioned circumstances.

Thankfully, the man is aware that he can't change 22 players!
Leave them to their opata yarning. Amorim good at man management? Tah! Where is the evidence? His time at a relatively unknown Sporting CP with no single star player? Seems people underestimate what man management means at popular and big clubs.
