It is believed the ongoing crisis has cost the club around £165m so far [mirror] Our fans are comparing Chelsea and Utd. Chelsea had a lot to spend this window because they did not spend last season. There is no Ed blaming that will absolve Ole of his incompetence. Well I'm sure Ole will get sacked by the end of the season of he doesn't get his shit together and give us a better result .
One thing is sure, if we don't win anh trophy this season, and/or finish the league in top 4 with a better point (not 66 points) , Ole will be labelled as a failure and no shalaye will change that.
FFS , We sacked our previous manager despite doing better than Ole in the past, why are people now defending Ole now, despite the fact that he's been the worse among the previous managers we've had, in terms of performance. afrodoc2: You are creating an argument in your mind and now coming to meet me to argue it. I am not arguing whether or not we should sack a manager.
My question is why are Woodward, Arnold, Judge immune from being sacked or even criticized?
If one considers that all these comical transfer windows came under their stewardship.
They appointed these useless managers.
They bought these non-performing players and offered them huge salaries, making them unsellable.
Even you once said Woodward was not smart when it comes to contract negotiations.
At what point do we point fingers at them as well.
Sacking and appointing managers at will is no guarantee of success if there is no planning.
AC Milan, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid (in the pre-Simeone years) will teach you this.
The problem is not the sacking of managers but the sacking and appointment of managers without a plan.
4 consecutive managers with 4 different football philosophies should tell you there is no plan. What was Real's philosophy when they hired JM, tell me that Bayern, Barca and Juve, Chelsea, Liverpool have 'philosophies'...no, they dont. They just hire and fire managers, buy and sell players until things click. Even if things click, after some years, things fall apart, and they go back to the market for managers and players. They dont care about style, they need trophies! |

4 consecutive managers with 4 different football philosophies should tell you there is no plan. They appointed managers which is normal, other clubs hired those managers at some point. RM hired Mou, Bayern hired LVG, and both managers delivered trophies. They were sacked afterward, which is normal, afterall, Real, Chelsea, Bayern, Barca sacked Mou and LVG. Also, they did not hand-pick the players, the managers wanted those players, and they signed them. So, I still dont get why they should take the stick for what's going on. Na Woodward choose Magwaya, AWB, James etc? |

afrodoc2: I don’t listen to the media. You can go back to 2013/2014 on this thread. I was criticizing Woodward even before it became fashionable to do so.
My views and opinions are mine. It is not about just buying players but having a plan and going about it smartly.
Inter Milan and AC Milan usually buy 7,8 players every season but we all know there is no plan to it hence their long term struggles. I have heard you. This wahala started in the year the Glazers took over. Everybody (the press, fans, supporters, even David and Fergie) did not like them one bit. Fergie just came to the office one day, and resigned! no succession plan, despite the fact that he was with the club for over 2 decades. He now recommended Moyes, so the world can say 'yes, we told you'.......also Gill left at the same time so things can crumble..... There is nothing wrong in sacking a manager, appointing another one, spending heavily to replace 4-5 players and hoping for trophies, if no trophies, then rinse and repeat! Nothing wrong at all, because other clubs do it, and it's working for them! |

There is one stupid media guy that keeps saying that Lampard has been backed, OGS has not been backed. Like, does it make sense?
Lampard did not sign any player last season, he signed 200m+ players this season, OGS signed players last season and this season spending close to 250m in total.

afrodoc2: So we should continue sacking the managers but we shouldn’t sack any of those 3 university roommates?
Even though we struggle with transfer negotiations and make a mockery of the process the people who are most directly responsible for this should continue with their jobs? Doc. First, regarding our transfers, I think you should ignore the media. They are just trying to make the narrative sound believable. Second, i think you should agree that they've been buying players since Fergie left, so what's the issue with our transfer process? Third, it's not transfer issues that is affecting us, it's the fact that we keep walking and talking DNA.......we are so used to the Fergie era, and we are not ready to move on! |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by nitrogen(m): 2:26pm On Oct 03, 2020 |
If Lampard does not deliver a trophy this season, Chelsea will sack him, no time for legend and DNA stuff. Everybody knows!
We should stop all these emotional and historical stuffs, stop blaming the owners and execs of the club, and hold our managers responsible, especially since they continue to buy players every season with nothing to show for it.
No one should come tell me that OGS needs 11 new players before he can win Carabao cup.
And yes, Lampard and OGS have spent almost same amount in the last 1.5 - 2 years. |
