Nice goal! |
Fulham is not playing well at all. Otherwise, they would have scored more than one goal. |
Fulham will take over play 100%, now that it’s Erik and Bruno in the midfield. |
Ellexy:I guess he wants to give Amorim time which means a potential 15th or 16th finish, thereby resulting in 20m less revenue to be met with cost cuts. No one should complain about cost cuts by Sir Jim again. |
larride:No worry, another one go come. Jassim is not our guy. |
Bombblacks:Good that we are on the same page on this. |
Bombblacks:Think about it for a second. Proof of funds is usually a bank letter or investment certificates or evidence showing you personally have the funds for a transaction. Our guy went to a bank for a guarantee which even if accepted, would have been a debt from QNB with the club repaying the debt. Any bank can provide a guarantee for a billion dollar transaction as long as the billion dollar assets being funded would be considered collateral if the guarantee is used. At worse, baba suppose even provide PoF with his family name given the family is worth hundreds of billions. He went to get a guarantee from a bank. |
larride:Well, I believe you were part of those optimistic and happy after he got in. Anyone but the American family at the helm of affairs. Now you are complaining. |
Bombblacks: No be fight. Jassim na audio billionaire. Let’s hope another one comes along. You thought these guys are not ready to sell? They shortlisted the guy and had him in the process. The guy no show workings reason he was out. |
You can have a letter of credit or bank guarantee for emergency or working capital needs, not for a 4.5bn acquisition. |
Bombblacks:A bank guarantee is not a direct source of funds. You can’t take a bank guarantee to a multi billion dollar transaction table at the New York stock exchange. Plus the guarantee would have been a loan from the Bank of Qatar. That guy is a joker. |
Bombblacks:Individual net worth is not useless as that’s where the money to spend will come from. Mansour’s family is also rich, but it would be difficult for him to ask his Popsy and aunties to direct their funds at City. His individual capacity of 20bn was key to ensuring he could spend whatever, whenever and however he wants. Plus sports/football is one of his major investments. Our guy no too bam like that. Utd fans just went with the name and the fact that he’s from the Middle East. Na audio money the guy get. |
Shiekh Mansour was worth 20 billion in 2008 prior to acquiring City. Shiekh Jassim was 1.5bn during his discussions about taking over Utd. Maybe the Glazers helped us dodge a bullet. The guy no get capacity as una think. Na only big dreams and fantasy for Utd full him head. Shey na for Utd fans to go dey beg him papa and family for money to buy players etc. The grass is not that ‘greener’ on the other side. |
Interestingly, Ratcliffe seems to be way richer than Sheikh Jassim. Almost 13bn vs 2.5bn. Where the further investments post acquisition for come from? |
larride:Anyone but Glazers as owner at this point. Thank God we now have Sir Jim to switch things up and put the right system in place. Haven’t we gone the system route now? We even signed and sacked a director in 5 months all in the name of system. Abeg, don’t complain, trust the process! What is out there is always greener. Una never see anything. |
MRTA7:How many years were you expecting Mou to do at Utd? Also, don’t forget that all our previous managers were the best of those available at the time, plus we saw some successes with some of the managers. |
patrickmuf:I hope you are not expecting these guys to perform at Ronaldo/Messi level. We cannot keep blaming the players, it’s unfair especially after signing them based on their performances at other clubs. Even the academy players are not spared. Garnacho don suffer for una hands. As Pep is losing his mojo, it’s looking like his players are not great. Some are saying City players are old, bla bla bla, but then, the average age of City’s squad is 26-27, same as last three seasons when they the won EPL back to back to back and the UCL. |
Santos07:What’s annoying is that we got him before mid season. There was a lot of expectations, and even if things won’t go well this season, at least try to experiment and stop sticking to something that is not working. I don’t see anything special happening next season, as we don’t have the funds to do another overhaul in the summer. We just had one recently. Plus if we go all out for him, and he fails, then we would be in a much deeper shit. |
main24:Brah, i don’t have time for this assignment. But I will tell you this: these players leave parmanently or on loan to do well in other teams. Why is that happening? |
engrelvis:Agree with this. We’ll see some glimpses of hope here and there but he’s on his last legs. Naso life be. There was a time Mou was the king until he became washed up. |
main24: You guys are in your world. |
main24:Average shelf life is 2-3 years. Reason I tell people to stop looking at long term managerial stuff. If you have square pegs, then target square holes until you get round pegs. Not like there are only round holes everywhere. So, you’d rather we spend another 700m to confirm that the manager is a mistake? And then you will have the same shitty excuse and requirements for the next manager. Damn! |
main24:Give us the win ratios of ETH vs Amorim. Talking about their first 15 EPL games. |
engrelvis:Absolutely ridiculous. The guy is not even trying. He keeps yapping about some stupid style. Not like we are dealing with a Pep or Ancelotti or even a washed up Mou that have won everything in football. This guy is a fuvking rookie that should be open to ideas. |
main24:What’s the average term of a manager at a top club? Don’t managers get sacked in 3-6 months after clubs realize their mistakes? Is 3 months not enough to see an improvement? Is it until we relegate before we sack an underperforming manager? Which is better and efficient? Overhauling the team for someone that is looking like a mistake or sacking and getting another manager to replace them? |
Look at Slot and what his boys are doing against City. He’s playing a 4-2-2-2 to choke the midfield and ensure City has possession mostly at the back and wings. He won’t play such formation against say Nottingham forest or Westham. That’s how to think and act as a manager. The players are not aliens, Trent is easy to play against but you won’t see Liverpool fans or even the manager complaining because they know it’s better to focus on his strengths vs weaknesses. |
Santos07:Again, you guys are not getting it. ETH changed in his first season to suit the tools he had, and he did well. We eventually did an overhaul for whatever his style was but he decided not to revert. It’s different! If you have players that can’t execute your style, we should not suffer for it by remaining stuck at the bottom of the table. Adapt and then go back to your style when you have ‘your’ so called players signed for you. |
main24:Focus on the present and stop the whataboutsism. The previous managers were here for 2-3 years and we could say some of them achieved something with the team. I am focusing on the current manager who has not done anything right with this team after 3 months, despite sticking to a certain style of play. |
Slot is playing to the strength of this Liverpool side. There is no sticking to some stupid style and asking for ‘his own’ players. I don’t care if the players are from mars, if the manager is bad, the team will struggle. I dont know why someone will just insist on playing a nonsense strange style that is not helping the players. The Incorrigibility is astounding! |
raumdeuter:You are wasting your time. Man Utd fans are delusional. They want 11 aliens on the pitch. |
Leyqute:lol, leave the guy alone. 2 assists today is okay abeg. |
