Leyqute: If you can think without involving the coach, you’ll understand better why United are struggling. Sack Amorim and bring in the next one whilst holding on to a chunk of these players . Let’s see if things won’t go from fry pan to fire. Not true. If we are lucky with the next manager, we will at least make top 8, and then improve from there. Don’t discount the fact that these players are better than the current league position suggests. Even Moyes is making Everton look like a top 10 team. |

Oasis007:

....Buh someone said the comparison I did is dubious. If Rashy ain't good enough to start for Villa, then how is on earth any of our players is good enough to start for a big team?! LOL! Your agenda does not make sense. The said someone is not fit to start the game. Why are you reading meaning to the statement? Drop this attitude abeg. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by nitrogen(m): 6:12pm On Feb 22, 2025 |
Leyqute: At all. But the fact remains.
A squad that finished 8th, struggled to score goals, and keeps making silly defensive mistakes can’t perform magic the next season. It doesn’t matter who the coach is.
But because the agenda is always about the coach, this fact flies over most fans’ heads. Finished 3rd the previous season. Plus, how come they are now in a relegation battle? Make we try finish top 8-10 na. |

Leyqute: The manager stopped performing how? Was he the one on the pitch making mistakes and missing big chances? lol, so manager no dey stop getting his tools to perform? Why do teams sack managers then? |

Oasis007:

Ruben Amorim: "In training, we have to continue to do the same. In the second half, we changed nothing. We have to do the same thing but in a good way. We have to improve on creating chances and in this game also we struggle with scoring goals." Keep giving the manager credit for nothing. We were here abusing the team until the free kick from Bruno. Some of your colleagues were saying Amorim was mad for not making any subs. Also, don’t forget that Everton played differently in the second half. Continue! |

Leyqute: Why do you like speaking from both sides of the mouth? You continue to miss my point. The manager stopped performing with the same players he got 3rd position with and we sacked him for another. That’s justified. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by nitrogen(m): 4:41pm On Feb 22, 2025 |
Jamiuokolaa: I think you are missing the point
When a team struggles with poor results, the manager is usually the 1st casuality
E.g that's why Ten hag was sacked before his Anthony was loaned out...lol Let him continue to break things down. |

main24: Doing the same thing and expecting a different result is insanity. I don’t get. So other clubs changing managers everytime are stupid or what? So the next reasonable thing to do is keep the current manager, overhaul with another 700m (with debt mind you) and then eventually sack the manager, with the fans asking for another set of ‘his’ players for another manager? Is not that insanity? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by nitrogen(m): 4:21pm On Feb 22, 2025 |
CapitalCee: Well 10 more points we are free from relegation Haha. God help us. We got 15 out of 45 so far under Amorim, at this rate we might struggle to do 10 out of possible 36 points left. |

main24: 2 years ago...football is changing rapidly, even Pep is struggling, what worked 2 years ago might not work today. lol, we needed to change the manager, and its has backfired. Simple thing is to move on to another rather than start asking for another set of players. We should overhaul an okay team for a manager that has not even tried to use the current tool to do something meaningful. You are willing to take such risk of being back to this point after wasting another 700m overhaul spend with/on Amorim? You think money grows on trees? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by nitrogen(m): 4:11pm On Feb 22, 2025 |
The doomsday scenario here does not make sense. This team was 3rd in the EPL two years ago. They won the FA cup last season. We should stop justifying rubbish abeg. |

main24: lol, I believe by now it should be obvious to all that we should try something different...the experiment of changing managers has not worked for us so far. Doing the same thing and expecting a different result is insanity. Something different like relegating and starting from scratch? I talk am! |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by nitrogen(m): 4:07pm On Feb 22, 2025 |
main24: Nitrogen, whichever manager you bring will want his own set of players. Leave sentiment, I believe that was why they hesitated in sacking ETH. Whichever way they choose it will cost them,...the more they delay it or try to shortcut it, the bigger the cost.
The best is what they are currently doing...weed out the players gradually. Depends on the manager. Most managers at other clubs work with whatever tool they have temporarily or even parmanently. We man utd fans invented this concept of ‘giving a manager his own players’. Does not make sense. |

main24: To terminate his contract, they also need money , and then money to hire a new coach...They won't go for an elite coach because they might not have the money for that...So they either stick with this experiment or start another one afresh. Either way, we will suffer for a long time. Still cheaper to sack the manager vs changing the squad for him. We are talking 20m vs 150-200m. |
