We should never have allowed Rangnick to go because he was a bad coach. A Rangnick-EtH combo is better than having Rangick or ETH alone at the helm of affairs.

Honestly, the jury is out there on whether or not both men re who we think they are. Both might have done it in clubs/leagues of less quality and low expectations. Also, we should think about the frictions that would have occurred between both in the same club. ETH is just too stubborn!

It is like appointing the Brighton DoF as our interim manager with the understanding that he would be our DoF next season but then cancelling his DoF contract cos he failed as a manager. But guys were emotional about Rangnick because of his performance as a manager as if the skillsets to be a manager and DoF are the same. 16 months after he said we need major surgery we have bought 6 first team players and brought in several other squad players.......and the surgery is not yet over.

Tbh, I was not ready to accept Ralf as DoF because of ETH. Having a well experienced DoF means not-enough power to the manager on transfers and what have we, which could affect elite (and stubborn) managers like ETH. I thought ETH had learnt a lot from the Ajax guys. We are in a dire situation!

Madison may not be perfect for the role but he's going to be miles better in that position than Mason Mount is. His ball retention, passing range, vision, and other core midfielder attributes are better than Mount's.

Zero Hang shouldn't be given too much power over transfers. Mr. P. E. teacher should've been retained to handle that.

He does not really know how to identify talent, so he goes back to the tried and trusted players. Funny thing is that those players originally became his players because Overmars (not ETH) identified them.
Unfortunately, there is nobody at United who has the confidence or football know-how to advise him otherwise. I always said not keeping Rangnick on as DoF was a mistake cos it looks like ETH knows the style of football he wants to play but does not know the type of players he needs to play it.

Then he should allow the DoF and scouts to do their jobs. He should tell them what he is trying to do and allow them identify and sign the players. The way he is going about it right now does not make sense at all.

Betterstill, he should ask the management for a well experienced DoF. I remember that when he was negotiating his contract, he specifically said he wants to have a significant say in transfer matters. Unfortunately, he can’t do everything. He should focus on figuring out the best set up and tactics and ask people to help him identify players.

You are not objective on this matter. Very few managers get 400m to spend in less than two seasons, also, I have not seen any manager sign almost 11 players in two seasons.

We should be seeing the results of our transfer activities and money spent in the last three transfers. Even if we can’t beat the big boys, we should not struggle against the likes of Wolves. Brighton baptized Wolves today with unknown players and very little effort.
