Hi House,
Does anyone know where I can buy a fairly used instrument display for a 2001 Audi A6 C5 and how much it will cost. The LCD monitor that displays information is bad and I have changed it but it wasn't still coming on. Picture of the display unit is as shown.

Readonee35L: Your car can be damaged with a tow like this .. THere are differentials, axles, driveshafts, transmissions, pretty much any mechanical part directly connected between your wheels and the engine
For God's sake why should you tow an all wheel drive.... am very sure ur audi is the awd quattro....
Towing vehicles varries An awd should never be towed neither by raising the front tires or back, a flat bed must be used For a fwd the front can b lifted and towed Rwd u cn lift the rear and tow the ride The car is FWD and from my post you will understand that I wasn't there when it was towed. They had an accident with it and towed it based on their own understanding. The transmission would most likely be changed out. I will get it scanned and would post the codes. |

Siena: A transmission drain and refill is a good idea, as long as the correct Audi fluid is used. If you use any other substitute, your transmission will fail. If you do NOT intend to use the correct Audi ATF, my advice will be to leave it well alone, unless you intend to purchase a replacement tranny.
Another issue is mileage. What is the current mileage of your Audi A6? When the ATF line got broken, was the transmission starved of oil for even a short period? Is the PRNDS indicator on the dash all lit up as one? Hi Siena, The Audi A6 has 120k miles on it. The PRNDS lights are not lit up. The car was towed by another sedan after the crash and it stalled on the way. They got a tow truck and took it a garage. They fixed the damaged parts and drained the ATF and filled with Audi approved ATF. What happened after they started the car was rather strange to me. The car would move by itself even though the gear is physically in Park. Could this mean changing the transmission? What are your thoughts? Thanks. |
Car Talk › Re: What Are The Disadvantages Of Buying 07/08/09 Camry V6 by Nixon55(m): 8:15am On Apr 12, 2015 |
senola1: Thanks to all those who posted. My concerns are actually centered on the transmission failures people complained with the V6 models. What do you advice Car maintenance and longevity is a function of the owner. I own a 2007 Camry XLE V6 that was bought three years ago and the transmission has not failed nor had any issues. The transmission is enclosed in that you can't top up any transmission fluid. If you have to change the transmission fluid, it has to be done by an expert or at a competent dealership. We need to understand that there 2001 cars out there that are still in good condition while there are 2010 cars that their owners have so abused that it is now a nightmare. So it is to a large extent how thorough you are. |

Hi Siena,
My transmission cooler line was broken in an accident. I am thinking of draining the entire transmission fluid and filling it up with a new fluid. Car is a 2001 2.4L V6 Audi A6 What are your thoughts? |

sooperrescue: Audi has its own specified ATFs but Pureguard will work perfectly with your car. We can send it to you in Ph and before the end of the month, our workshop will be opened to the public in Port harcourt. There you can bring your cars for transmission issues, engine wahala and octane boosters How much is the pureguard and how many litres would be needed for this transmission (ZF-5HP24) Do you also have the PAG 46 compressor oil? Thanks. |
Autos › Re: 2009 Tokunbo Camry XLE by Nixon55(m): 8:27pm On Apr 06, 2015 |
lomomike: That's NOT an XLE, that's a GL or GLX. Notice the side marker isn't Amber, the simulated/faux wood interior is absent, the climate control is manual not auto.
Folks might argue its got leather, rear climate control vents, foglamps and XLE badge. But I say, these add on are doctored. @lomomike, you are right.. I drive an '07 XLE and that car is not an XLE. It's most likely an LE V6 that was rebadged to XLE |

Car Talk › Re: 2005 Audi A6 3.2 Quattro Info Pls by Nixon55(m): 1:06pm On Mar 30, 2015 |
Siena: Personally, I would avoid the 3.2 FSI version. FSI engines are efficient, but the intake manifold needs periodic removal to decoke. The fuel pressures are almost as high as that in a diesel, so working on the fuel system with little or no knowledge is a recipe for disaster. The fuel pump is also mega money, as a regular A6 non-FSI will not work. Also consider the timing chain. It's at the back of the engine, and requires engine and transmission removal, then separation on the bench to replace it. It's a 15-hour job, over here Audi quote £2700 parts and labour to replace it. I myself charge £1900. Consider even the most basic parts for this job in Nigeria, and the available expertise to carry it out. My advice would be to go with the 4.2 V8 non-FSI. There is the 2.4 V6 too, if you can find a Quattro model, it won't be Multitronic / CVT. Good luck! Siena, I am getting a 2001 Audi A6 2.4L V6 Tiptronic..(4B, C5) What are your thoughts? |

3cycle: You can imagine, goodluck promised additional refineries to us but we never see am. Does it matter even if the refineries no longer serve its purpose? Nope. What matters is that refineries must be built whether it is working or not. Thesame obasanjo that built refinery in 1975 couldn't build more from 1999 to 2011. He did nothing to revive the existing ones but do we really care? Nope. All that matters is that he built refinery so GEJ must do so.
Buhari and Obasanjo are indeed great men. 1999 - 2011 is 12yrs which means he ruled for three tenures... Nigerians shaa.... |
