It is estimated that Nigeria loses $1.5 trillion annually every year to education abroad. Education abroad is not the problem, the type of education they undergo abroad is the problem.
*The government organise scholarship programs every year so that Nigerians can go abroad and study their desired courses; THERE IS A PROBLEM WITH THIS: the problem is that when they return to our country they give them employment straight away, but what do they learn? They learn THEORY( the same theory we learn here).
Other countries have car/automobiles companies, some of those countries are brothers/Fathers of Nigeria.
*Is it true that we can't learn from other countries on how to produce these things on our own, or Is it true that Nigeria don't have the funds to open these industries?
* I've used the Nigerian made laptop, I didn't see any difference between Zinox and HP. yet most Nigerians go for foreign laptops instead of locally produced.
* I was taught in secondary school economics that one way to prevent mass inflation is to increase our import tarries/tax and making the locally produced ones cheaper... IS THAT WHAT THE GOVERNMENT REALLY DO; of course not! Both imported and locally produced goods are almost the same price. How will it discourage citizens from purchasing foreign made goods?
*CRUDE OIL: Then you think of crude oil as the country's asset... Ha! I think it will do us good if we reserve our crude oil for the future because the countries we sell to probably have more than us now. It will be better if we could export agricultural resources instead of mineral resources. As a matter of fact, the agricultural materials we import from other countries are mere wants not need. Who eats apple and strawberries nowadays? Yet we import more and more
