If you are smart and very well learned then SAP is one of the best places for you to build a career. If you are determined too, you would easily find the way to reach higher and higher places if only you acquire the skills.

You can become a consultant in any number of fields, such as postal services, mining, oil, pharmaceuticals, transport, plant maitenance, project mgt, material mgt finacial accounting, mgt accting and education. The thing is have to know about the product very well, also know the field you will work in. Being a consultant is not a simple job and it requires you to learn how to use the software very well

the installation is what i will do for you and if you permitt me i will give you training materials and exam prep questions for a very small fee

@ scorp

oga how is india today? , my brother you know what we passed through to get to this stage.no be beans at all.

be rest assured, i will not put others through the same hot fire we passed through.

in fact , some of the guys here that actually pressured me to make it public else i would have been in the background

and the good thing is as much as i do for almost free i can just stop when it gets choking.

@okeyz
bros i no come hear from you since then hope say everytin dey ok

for those that actually made to the world tour, what lessons did you take home?

for me after interacting with many ''ABOUT SAP nairalanders, i observed that

1. Alot of people are coming into the SAP career path 'cos of the money

2.Many have the impression that they could get the knowledge FREE OF CHARGE

3. surprisingly many just want the exam brain dumps thinking it is CCNA,OCA kind of exam.no training, no practise.

4.ALOT OF PEOPLE LOOK DOWN ON SAP BUSINESS ONE not knowing that in nigeria you have more of B1 implementations than  the R3.

i will address few issues here

You cannot have the IDES,SAP academy training manual and exam prep questions free of charge

Most businesses in nigeria are in the small business category or rather prefer to have B1 solution 'cos of the cost

Decide now what you want.

The silence all this while does not mean we have abandoned the SAP dream. It is very difficult here in Nigeria.A good number of us are already certified  in

different modules while some are the verge of completing the technical admin training via group study and practical sessions with the latest IDESS and the

most current SAP training course materials.Employer's attitude to the certifieds but with no experience is horrible, after committing your family inheritance to

SAP to build a career.

When i read that SAP is not for the faint hearted,i thought it was all about  not getting the right materials to read, practise and write exam.i didn't know it

will be this difficult.i hope ,i mean ,i hope i have not sounded frustrated.

Markos' chart above sometimes upsets me.why ? i dont know.

Dont you think we will be replicating another about SAP thread offline worse still having a troop of SAP greenhorns.

At the same time there is the need for networking with SAP consultants in nigeria, why?

First SAP job as a fresh consultant is always a challenge.

Nigeria is always different in implementing global standards,it is always tilted.(sorry i stand to be corrected)

@BLACKSTA
take time and read one of KIWI's posts

Hi,

Can I just say that implementing SAP is never like your Windows installation. Far, far from it. It isn't something that one would talk you through just like that. It's a very complex process that requires a lot of background reading and indeed, research before the implementation actually begins.

The BASIS Consultants that specialise in this aspect of SAP R/3 don't get paid bucket-loads of money for nothing, I can tell you.

There is no cutting corners or indeed, spoon-feeding. You've got to do it yourself, I'm sorry to say. It's either you:

1. Do the leg work and implement it yourself, just like I did.

Please go to the link that I gave to you ages ago. USE IT! Good things in life don't come easy to anyone. There's a flash file that details the implementation for you on a step-by-step basis.

Surely, it can't be that difficult to implement it such that you've been struggling with it for this length of time. Oh, yeah, you MUST read-up on the hardware requirements as well, to ensure that your system meets the minimum requirements, in addition to the memory and operating system requirements. You simply can not plonk SAP R/3 ony any PC. This is why you need to research it properly before plunging into it.

2. Pay someone to implement it for you.

In my case, being new to SAP at that time, some Canadian guy offered to implement it for me as long as I paid his return air fare to the UK and back, as well as hotel expenses.

Needless to say, I decided against it, fully aware of the benefits of implementing it myself. I swotted, researched on the Internet, visited many Forums, read the implementation guides as well as many sleepless nights reading up on Oracle database administration, project managment and so on. This, in addition to building a new computer that met the minimum hardware and software requirements so as to implement the IDES.

It wasn't easy but I got there in the end and indeed, implemented it that many times on my PC, it became second-nature to me. The most rewarding thing to do if you ask me 'cos that is the only thing that makes you really get to know SAP R/3 inside out.

3. Buy pre-installed IDES ECC 6.0 from eBay and install the hard drive on your PC.

I warn you - you might come unstuck! Ensure you get the necessary instructions from the seller. Go to the link that I gave to you and read up on others' experiences before you go down this route.

4. Get online access to SAP R/3 IDES ECC 6.0

Using this method, you just pay for x number of months (or weeks), to enable you access to the IDES online, inorder to train for the module of your choice towards the Consultancy certification. All the necessary information that you require to do this is all in here as well as in that link.

Finally, as I said in one of my earlier postings on this thread, SAP is NOT for the faint-hearted and that includes the implementation as well as studies for the Consultancy certification.

I'm afraid, I won't be in a position to get into any further communication with you on this specific subject. I think I've given you enough advice on what to do. Sorry! I hope you understand.

SCORP
DONT LOSE HOPE
Good luck as you work on consultancy
