THE POWER OF DREAMS! A dream is that thing that would not let you sleep. It is that thing that would not let you eat because your belly is now filled with the desire of seeing it come to pass... It is that which will not let you die even when a thousand bullets fly recklessly before your very eyes.. It is what will make others squint when they try to perceive what your dream is gazed at. It is what will make you take the whips of pessimists. It is what will make you wear their crowns of thorns and your blood would gush down through your face but still you press on. This Great Dream will make you lift up your head even when others give up hope to drown. It is what will not let you quit the race even when your heart beats with each pace and your feet now breaks with every stride. A dream is what will make you call each defeat a chance again to run it. It is what will make you dig up dirt because you know one day you will find it there... A dream is what will make you live forever in the hearts and minds of others long after you become lost in the oblivion of sleep and your flesh now nothing but dust and heap.. But a dream, Is also what will make your spirit regret. It is what will make you feel you have lost because you allowed it burn a million degrees within you when the world around felt you are frozen cold... You would stand by your grave soberly shaking and saying.. 'I had it but I let it go" With you in this casket of ineptitude, the angels would bear witness to all the excuses you spent your whole life building in your head... You would wish for another chance another opportunity to feel your flesh and your bones once more! But no.. For the hand of time never rewinds.. And the creator would not change his mind for we live and die, once not twice... But NNV is here. One of opportunity. Stop dreaming a new Nigeria.. Start living it.. Join the New Nigeria Vanguard!. Live out the Dreams!!! #tomorowsLeadersToday |

What use is the Immunity Clause? The immunity clause has become a problem to our country . The effect of this plague is more than mouths can tell. Our Leaders have trivialized the word "immunity" as what they apparently understand it as "immuLOOTING" We ask , of what use is vaccination to an acclaimed vaccinator; whose obligation is to Vaccinate? The expectation is that leaders should serve as Role models to their followers in being upright, law abiding, judicious, meticulous and accountable. If that holds true of our leaders, why the need for IMMUNITY? While i understand the immunity need for some offices "IN CERTAIN REGARD"; yet we think its ills far outweighs the good considering the way our Leaders manage their political offices. Despicable acts ,ranging from Embezzlement, looting, money laundering e.t.c. which are all abuse of office, are floated on this right. Who dare challenge their authority? After all they have been immunized! All they need do is recite the immunity clause. Will we sit back and watch as our country is milked dry? Turn a blind eye as our coffers are emptied over one unwarranted right included in our constitution? Continue to grin underneath hearing unaccounted millions disappearing within some years of our democratic administration? Being a witness to injustice metted out to ordinary citizens while some "ABOVE THE LAWS" are celebrated over similar, and most time graver offences, do we muzzle our voices? It's time to end this... Equal rights for all or no right at all? Let's save our nation from "unjustified Immunity" #tomorrow's leaders today. |
Can we have enough of the blame game? The destiny of this nation lies in the hands of the younger generation and not the likes of Information Minister and his team. Join the New Nigeria Vanguard for a new Nigeria where our signature reflects in the live we live! #tomorrow's leaders today! |
THE LOCAL DEFENSE INDUSTRY EPISODE 1 Following the last US secretary of state visit to Nigeria he said "US will sell Weapons to Nigeria if Nigeria have the money and the technical know how" , but no sooner than later, a Congress man Tom Marino sent him a letter stating reasons why the US shouldn't offer Nigeria assistance in our ongoing fight against insurgency. He accused Nigeria of extra judicial killings reported by amnesty international the one we know well the US army is guilty off. It was in 2013 when USA refused to sell us weapons and also blocked an arm deal we had with Israel, Nigerian took it to the media crying over it saying things like; the USA aiding terrorism and doesn't want Nigerian military victory against the Boko Haram Sect. Nigerians have to know that our reliance on US weapons and technical support have cost us a lot, from losing gallant men to weapons and even civilian casualties. We had to turn to Russia, Belarus China etc, to seek for sophisticated weapons and arms. It was after then we started landing the sect huge blows and of course not we cannot get back the men we lost but we are getting back some weapons and our cities from the hands of the terrorist insurgents. The popular proverb "if you fail to plan you plan to fail" have explained the quagmire we have been enmeshed in. If we had fortified our local defense industry, majority of this wouldn't have happened but because of our Nonchalant attitudes coupled with politicians and generals pocketing the money for defense we are in this tight spot. The defense industry corporation of Nigeria (DICON) was primarily established to produce small arms and ammunition for the use of the Nigeria security agencies. The industry established in 1964 with the help of a west German company provided technical expertise in setting up a factory in kaduna. But fast forward to recent times DICON still producing what they were primarily established for "light arms" until recently we were still importing bullet rounds, helmets and even vest, webbings and even camouflage uniform in large numbers. Industrialization is a take off Into the advanced world. If we had a modest local industry, equipments which are blocked by external countries can be sourced for internally and used to combat this challenging security issues. Furthermore, the world is a big market and a country seeking recognizance must tap into the market . Also a modest industry reduces unemployment and improves human development index as staff can work in both defense and manufacturing industry. Looking at our African counterpart in the south "South Africa", the South African defense industry is unarguably one of the best in Africa if not the best producing and exporting their products within and beyond Africa and outside Africa. Looking at Pakistan, India and Brazil local industry although measuring up to them we are in a distant low position, but with good foresight and investment we can and will measure up in no time. Now how do we turn the defense industry to the one of our dream? A question more than a rhetoric! Education as we all know is one of the key to national development and which is not a hidden fact that we have a problem with it in Nigeria. We are about to take a quick look at our educational sector in Nigeria today. Nigeria is the most populous black nation with almost 170 million people, 30 million of which are students. Christian missionaries introduced the western education system in Nigeria in the mid-nineteenth century. This education system was more readily accepted in the south. Education is a shared responsibility of the Nigerian federal, state, and local governments. The formal education system in Nigeria is the 9-3- 4 system which was changed about 24 years later by the then minister for education, Dr. Obi Ezekwesili to 6-5-4 , which was then changed to 6-3-3-4 system of education in the year 1982 which we are now using till date. Nigeria has a large number of out-of-school children and young adults with limited literacy and numeracy skills who have little hope of ever joining the formal workforce. Education indicators are poor nationwide, and the greatest need for assistance is in the predominantly north. In Nigeria today, the rate of illiteracy is very very high, according to UNESCO’s 2016 statistical report which was revealed by UNESCO’s National Programme Advisor on Education, Dr Muhammed Alkali , 65 million Nigerians remain illiterate , isn’t that awkward?, the illiteracy rate is just standing above 50 percent , and we call ourselves GIANT OF AFRICA ?, what are we bragging on ? , how are we expecting to end illiteracy while nothing less than 10 million Nigerian children currently out of school and with over 35 million Nigerian adults illiterate, who are we expecting to encourage the children to go to school, children of illiterate parents are most likely to be illiterate themselves, the government needs to get parents aware of the need to get their ward to school. Whereas our sister country South Africa only recorded that just 4.7 million adults are illiterate, with 4.9 million adults functional illiterate i.e they left school before grade 7. I suppose this is a matter of national urgency for illiteracy has adverse impact on both an individual and the society at large. It's certainly not a hidden fact as how our educational sector is bad, from the primary sectors to the secondary sectors , pure infrastructure, unavailability of sufficient teaching equipments , from books to furnitures, over crowding in class rooms and so on, unavailability or insufficiency of quality teachers and many more in our public schools, there is no way these won't affect the pupils, no wonder quite a huge number of students fails their O'level exams time to time which make most of them end up not furthering their education. Should we fold our hands and allow our valued education system to go in comatose? Can we really become the Intellectual Giant of Africa? Together we can! |
Ours is a nation of abundance but very few exalted citizens bask in this abundance. Were our ancestors cursed? We rethorically ask with no reply. Maybe we should keep hoping for better life after our eyes must have close in death. Even when the white oppressors had left,we are still left with oppressors that are as close as our skin. Call us advanced slaves with some degree of human rights and crumbs from the high tables of our primitive minded leaders and you will be an inch closer to the truth. As was the case with our former slave drivers, our indigenous slave drivers have succeeded in creating a nation of great inequality where they call the shots and decide which crumbs we are to get.The best things of life are only for them and their cronies, for us,construction of substandard learning centres without the tools to prepare our children for the 21st century is the best we can get. After all their wards will never attend this schools. They are strictly gifts from our oppressors to us,they must never be rejected. Outpour of appreciation by men and women even after the short lifespan of the facility usually rent the air. After the mediocre construction of substandard roads and other public works with bloated figures, the celebration still continues. For the citizens, "half bread is better than chin chin",they should also know that we can have the full bread all for ourselves if we free our minds from mental slavery. When slave trade was the only thing Africa could offer, the slaves most times never escape even when there was chance to do so,slavery was more than physical,it was largely mental. For the slaves, they dare not question their oppressors. We were not cursed,we have simply in the midst of plenty unconsciously decided to live true to Fela's "suffering and smiling". We can only have a new Nigeria if we free ourselves from mental slavery and start making conscious efforts to create a new Nigeria. New Nigeria Vanguard offers you opportunity to meet with detribalized Nigerians working for the emergence of a truly united, free and egalitarian Nigeria. Sometimes, most times things don't go as planned. But do we fold our hands and let our common patrimony get stolen from us? Do we bury our head in shame because we do not have the political muscle to join in this war for change? Do we recede in our youthful exuberance because they call us cowards? No... We are not cowards. We look into each day believing that we would rise. Yes, rise above every indignation and hate. Rise above the scorns and contempt. There's a rise from deep within... We may not have the guns to combat our common enemy in battle but we have our numbers. Our voices may not be heard but we have our thumbs. The battle line just got drawn. We would fight with our thumbs. Make merry o Nigerian youth for that day shall come when we shall be filled with spurs of victory.. JOIN THE MOVING TRAIN JOIN THE NEW NIGERIA VANGUARD |
Too late that KOWA could not leverage on the failures of both APC and PDP to secure a good political office |
When people who are called as ministers enmesh their selves in pride and arrogance, this becomes the fruit. Religion without piousness is an aberration. |
Regrettably, this is what our generation seem to opt for. Can we have decency in outlooks? A case for another day! |
Redeeming the battered international image of this nation is a task we all must be involved in, irrespective of ethnoreligious affiliations! #God Bless Nigeria! |
Will he also reduce the retinue of aids and convoy he have? What of the obnoxious allowances they eat will it be reduced? Does the change we want be seen in media stunts and paparazzi or in reality? As minister of information can he truly be truthful in his information delivery without propaganda and falsified economic data? |
Its crash insensitivity and lack of empathy that the IG should ban the BBOG activities. Let PMB fulfill his promise of rescuing the girls for they are still Nigerians. UK is trying to weep more than the bereaved. Though our Presidency seem lost in this whole brouhaha |
We want a restructured Nigeria where our resource endowments will be maximally utilized and not lying dormant because we all fold our hands and expecting the FG MONTHLY allocation. We have natural resources in all states which is of importance in the global market. #saynotoimportation of what we are blessed with! |
Fear is an evil phenomenon that sucks out every iota of confidence and determination. Its fang is venomous and neutralizes the very strong. It exalts itself on mountain tops boasting of its overwhelming power and strengths. It looks the brave in the face and they wobble and hide their head in shame, despair and defeat. Fear, she is the weapon every evil wields against the dogged. It makes athletes consider their weaknesses and stop the race, it makes boxers give up the fight when they see their opponent. it turns the brave to cowards and makes them lesser than they actually are. Fear captures the mind and makes it a slave of itself, it feeds you with all the troubles you may have to bear if you carried the cross. It tells you, you are blind even when you can see with your eyes. But remember, one day. You would look down on your grave with pity written all over your face with you saying " I had it in me but I let it go". You would look at your grave knowing that you burned a thousand degrees within u but the world and those around you felt you are frozen cold. You would wish for another chance, another opportunity to do what you may.. But no.... For the hand of time of time would not rewind and God would not change his mind. But right now, there is something you can do. Stand against your political fears, resentments and indifference.
