Arise oh youth of Nigeria, our Renaissance has come. Arise for our emancipation, we are born free but every where in fear, Nigeria untold hardish that is simply a leadership problem will end only if the youths wakes up from their slumber. Seeing this quote by Thomas Paine, our dear country, Nigeria, rings in our minds. The quote ran thus, “the trade of government has always been monopolized by the most ignorant and the most rascally individuals of mankind”. Logically, the quote might not hold water, but virtually speaking, with the incessant overwhelming circumstances been witnessed in Nigeria, we wouldn't be left with any option rather than to agree with Thomas Paine as it is the case with us Nigeria. Let us rise up to question all that is questionable, let us begin to question all answers too, until questions are unquestionable and answers are unanswerable. Today we want to question the attitude of blaming past government, also known as "blame game". On the 7th September, 2016 there was a press release from the presidency, that attributed the current increase in food price to the deceit of the past administration. Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eyes, but do not see the plank in your own eyes? Blaming game has become a new defensive mechanism for the present administration. Our hearts bleeds at there rhetoric’s, for how long would our heart continue to bleed? The past administration was corrupt, we know, why were you voted in, to effect the change you preached. Nigerians are sick and tired of hearing you allot blames over and over again. How can you say to your brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye, when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eyes? Arise Mr. President, from your slumber, arise Nigerian Youths from your slumber, rise above this blaming game. Arise and get to work and stop this blaming game. This attitude of apportioning blames is a sign of weakness and ineffectiveness. So, arise. First remove the plank in your own eyes. Faced with what is right, to leave it undone shows a lack of courage. Arise young Nigerians for a new Nigeria. Let us make Nigeria a better place by actively and consciously participating in Nigeria politics. The punishment we suffer, if we refuse to take part in government, is to live under the government of the worse men. Arise, let us be on our way to a new Nigeria. #togetherwecan #tomorrow's leaders today!!! |

*We Need Youths In Government, We Are Tired Of Old Men* There is need to bring youths who can drive innovation and annex the power of ICT into the present administration. The old men and women in control of the ship of this great country have not much to offer. Most of them are cut off from the realities of the 21st century where technology is driving change and economic development. We believe we need young guys in the tech industry to be in the helm of affairs in the ICT ministry. I don't know the reason why someone like Gbenga Sesan of PIN, Opeyemi Awoyemi of Jobberman, Stephen Akintayo of Gtext Media, Ope Banwo of Afrinet Solutions, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata Jnr of Tech Trend cannot be minister of ICT with all the results they have achieved in the tech industry. Kenya is getting it right in their ICT industry. The minister in charge is in his 40s and have been in tech industry for some times with a lot of achievements to show for his commitment to that industry. Nigeria youths we need to wake up and take our destinies into our hands. We can't continue to mortgage our future because we are afraid of voicing out what we know is right for our future. The world is changing and the drivers of this change are youths. Information and communication technology can transform every sector of the country especially the education sector which is heading towards total collapse because of corruption, bureaucracy, lack of facilities and infrastructures. The first person Mark Zuckerberg met when he visited Kenya was their Minister of ICT because he knew they have something in common and he is someone they can share ideas together on ICT but the reverse was the case when he visited Nigeria. The first place he went was CC Hub in Yaba where he met likes mind and those who are passionate about what he is doing. Everything about our country shouldn't be politicized, we need to bring in common sense sometimes. It will be common sense if we have someone who knows about ICT and with proven results heading the ministry of ICT. It will make a lot of sense, it will position us for better investment and all around development. Lets think about it. We need youths in politics, we are tired of old men. #tomorrow's leaders today #together we can!!! |
The Nigeria Dream- What Nigerians at home and Nigerians in diaspora should know about by now!!! After the amalgamation 1914, Nigeria is two years ahead of its centenary age but one can still not talk about the unity of Nigeria with certainty. Just as Nigeria, the United State of America passed through all the process we are passing through right now until young minds came to their rescue, they saw other nationals including Isreal-Jews as rivals until they were liberated to work with them. They practiced non religious, non-tribal, nondenominational, non xenophobic, capitalist society to keep them where they are today. We have critically examined Nigeria's problem, both past and present, one of which is the fact that they made Nigerians to believe that the youths cannot govern the country's affairs, this is one of the power-seat-tight syndrome which has held Nigeria bound till date. Take into consideration what the entertainment industry was like, before the youths came in. Nigeria is one of the world leading countries in respect to entertainment. We identified capitalism as well as federalism as a key solution to our problem, we cannot do without restructuring to stay together as a country. We have lined up practical based solutions from our think tanks and have solution to all problems Nigeria is facing today. We are not the minds that will be hijacked by any warlord/godfather. We are poised to genuinely rescue Nigeria. The country name Nigeria send cold chills to other countries around the world. Why do we spew disintegration against her and weaken her strenght? Nations/veto nations must be very happy and mocking, watching the giant being reduced to a dwarf. Conquering Nigeria to them is conquering Africa. We will not allow them conquer Nigeria with this psychological warfare already ravaging us. We are not the only oil producing state in facing an economic downturn, hence we cannot but diversify the economy with our various practical implementable ideas. Elderly Nigerians are quiet about Nigeria possibly because they lost hope in her, its normal to loose hope in someone who keeps failing in his/her promises over the years. The elderly possibly lost hope in their colleagues who instead of uniting us with laudable projects deprived us by milking the nation's resources dry. They made Nigerians not to believe in the youth. Even some youths feel that way! We understand the perspective of this problem and we have come to renew the hope of a new Nigeria. We will be blunt in asking those suing for secession some questions, what happened to our thinking? We understand how the thought pattern changed over the years but are we still thinking of returning power to same elderly men who have proven unrepentant come 2019? Why was their amalgamation? Did the ethnic tribes in Nigeria ever get united? Yes, the mission to oust the colonial masters united them then but what happened after they won that battle? Greed and envy soon rumpled their unity and they began to struggle for same resources they fought together to control, this is still the present predicament. We want to assure you that the above will repeat itself. Regional Nigeria seeking secession are united now to fight their common cause which is disintegration. Will they still be united to share the resources even if they succeed? Its time to think about that because it will happen just like our colonial era. Unless we are ready to form a country out of every family which will still bring disagreement among them. What to think is a new Nigeria. We are not bigger than America, China in population, land mass and ethnicity. Yet they have remained strong in their diversity. The strength of a Nation is dependent on how many tongues is found amongst them. China, USA is making waves than country like Japan because of their diversity not just size and resources. In the words a former Nigerian president, "the youth have no limit in times of number and capacity to lead this country to greatness", Dr. Ebele Azikiwe Good luck Jonathan. Everyone is invited to join in this struggle, we can't do this alone. We need you, to keep the new Nigeria dream alive! Tomorrow's leader today Join the movement, follow us on twitter @NNVanguard |
#DEFENCE?? POLICE OR BODYGUARDS?? The Nigeria police force is the principal law enforcement agency in Nigeria with a staff strength of about 371,800 men and women with exclusive jurisdiction throughout the country to serve and protect Nigerians. According to the constitution their main objective is to safeguard life and properties but lately they've been deviating from that and resorting to escort/bodyguard of politicians, celebrities that want to show off, even acting as bouncers at events. Constitutionally the executive and the other arms are allowed to be guarded by policemen attached to their portfolio but when rich people now hire the policemen like private security guards then we have a problem. What could be the problem?? Is it idleness? OF COURSE NOT! in respect to police to citizens ratio, Nigeria has one of the undermanned police in the world not enough men to go round not to talk of sparing some. If using the United nation Policing standard of 1 policeman to 400 civilians we are lagging behind as we would be having 1 policeman to about 484 civilians and if using one of the busiest police department in America "Los Angeles police department statistics shows they have 348.5 policeman per every 100,000 civilians we would still be lagging behind as we would b having 206.6 policemen to protect 100,000 civilians so what could really be the reason?? In a survey by Ahmadu Bello University, the Nigeria police force is the most corrupt institution in Nigeria. Well we don't need a survey to tell an Average Nigerian that, its what we see and experience daily and its gradually turning traditional. Well this seems to be the reason: the policemen searching for other source of income and they resort to this, the "Ogas at the top" that allocates this men 'illegally' to serve under politicians for favors or as a sign of loyalty and also renting them out to celebrities. "THIS HAS TO STOP" These are some possible solutions to solving the problems highlighted above: Firstly the police wholistically, needs restructuring, this is a long process and requires a lot to go through I'll skip this for now. Secondly I think the PSC needs to Up their game, the PSC (police service commission) is the civilian arm of the police force responsible for appointment, promotion and discipline of police officers, the PSC keeping tracks of the police officers would make them sit up a bit. Thirdly the police needs to maintain cordial relationship with the arms of government that is, no pledging of allegiance to a party and its cohorts but since we are in a society where rules are broken by the powerful and affluent, we see the Nigeria police deviating from their constitutional duties and lastly the police needs proper reorientation and lectures on what their duties are, the standard should be set high for them to stop dancing to the tune of every man with potbelly. This should start from recruitment. The recruiting exercise should be strict, on merit, fair and to ensure getting the right man for the job. Police should recruit people willing to serve the force and this great nation not people who see the police as a way out of unemployment and when given the opportunity they tarnish the image of the institution and the country. With this few points we are on our way to getting positive result... MORE COMING... The Naija Youths And Politics It is high time the Nigerian Youths see their value in the Nation exceed just Sports, Media and Special Advisory. The new policy that makes it possible for anyone 30 years and above to run for any political position in the country is something we should take advantage of. It is no secret that our political landscape is made up of old men in majority who lack the vibrancy to move the Nation forward. The Nation needs the participation of the Youths to revitalise it's ailing self. The Nigerian youths make up sixty percent of our population and yet it is impossible to find a youth that is a Minister or a Governor. The youths are so shut out politically to the extent individuals who are in their 50's and 60's are the ones being made youth development ministers. These old men have no idea of the struggles of the average Nigerian Youth. The time for the youths to join a massive coalition that prioritises youth welfare and the welfare of the Nation as a whole is now. A coalition void of old moneybags who have used the political system to serve their greedy interest. We need more youths in political positions in this country, our elderly politicians have failed us far too long and the result is the economic mess of today. The future of the Nation lies in the hands of the youth. Join a movement with the interest of the masses at heart. Join a movement with the interest of the youths at heart. A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package. What food might this contain?" The mouse wondered - he was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap. Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning: There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, "Mr. Mouse, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it." The mouse turned to the goat and told him, "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The goat sympathized, but said, "I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but there is nothing I can do about it but pray. Be assured you are in my prayers." The mouse turned to the cow and said "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The cow said, "Wow, Mr. Mouse. I'm sorry for you, but it's no skin off my nose." So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's mousetrap alone. That very night a sound was heard throughout the house - like the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey. The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught. The snake bit the farmer's wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital , and she returned home with a fever. Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his matchet to the farmyard for the soup's main Ingredient. But his wife's sickness continued, so friends and neighbours came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the goat. The farmer's wife did not get well; she died. So many people came for her funeral, the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them. The mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great sadness. So, the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and think it doesn't concern you, remember when one of us is threatened, we are all at risk. We are all involved in this amazing journey called life. We must keep an eye out for one another and make an extra effort to encourage one another. Each of us may not be connected through a blood line, we may not even be friends. But we are all connected through brotherhood. The problems we face in this nation has been due to negligence, I don't care attitude and indifference but the truth remains that we all bear the pains and ills of a disoriented and a backward society. Will you continue to be indifferent? Lets join hands for a New Nigeria. Together we shall! |
IN THE PURSUIT OF A NEW NIGERIA He is a fool who did nothing because he could only do a little........ Edmund Burke Its no longer news about the present painful economic realities facing our dear nation, Nigeria as at today. We have heard, seen and felt it like never before. The reality has dawned on us all that the blame game of past government administration since after the civil war is not the way forward. We are in desperate times and should be able to muster courage and think of what we can do to save our ailing and dying nation. While the bulk of the matter rests on the table of the government yet the citizens aren't left out. Its time we take down ethnicity, pride, religious supremacism and bigotry in the quest to birth a new great and truly sovereign Nigeria. The spate of hunger and untold hardship is irrespective of tribe and religious affiliations. The Almighty question that may be sounding rhetoric now is, what can we do? No nation ever develops to enviable heights without the cooperation and mutual trust between the government and its citizens. Its now a norm that we feel that the battered relationship of trust and confidence between the electorate and the political leaders has come to stay and no one is to be blamed because once bitten twice shy. Leaving us in a circle of hopelessness in the government. But of a truth something can be done. Not all Nigerians are bad, just that the good ones have refused to speak out of fear, cowardice and sentiments. Its not gainsaying that the new Nigeria we want starts from the political leaders who need to lead by example on the tenets of patriotism, zero nepotism and shunning other such ills bedevilling our nation evident in corruption, cabalism, lootocracy, disobedience to the rule of law and zero empathy to the pains of the electorate. However, we as individuals of the society needs a total reawakening and reorientation, that we need to Foster the rebuilding of broken ties of relationship among our ethnic nationalities. In the face of these present economic challenges all hands must be on deck in stirring the ship of our nation to a safe blissful haven and shore of unity and faith, peace and progress ( Nigeria motto) inspite the pain we may encounter. We need to be the first line of credibility, integrity, accountability and patriotism. The idea of supporting a looter and one who shortchanged this nation and defending him with ethnic sentiments and bias in order to shield him or attract unnecessary empathy is a whirlwind that blows no one any good. For crying out loud the rule of law must not be bent for anyone, justice must be served no matter whose ox is gored! Let our judiciary rise up to the tenets of upholding justice and live up to the cliche "hope of the common man". For the Nigerian youth we must shun bribery, short cuts against due process, stand for the truth, lend helping hands to those we are better off, shun vandalism, terrorism, gangsterism, cultism and other ills that portray us in bad light. Join the new Nigeria Vanguard and build alliance with young minds from the length and breadth of Nigeria whose values are those of integrity, courage, selflessness, patriotism, merit, economic empowerment, zero corruption in all it's shades and facades whose vision is SECURING A PEACEFUL, UNITED, PROGRESSIVE, CORRUPTION-FREE NIGERIA FOR NOW AND POSTERITY. |
A group of different communities with interesting cultural background though living in their own settlements was invaded by some foreigners many years ago. After the invasion and conquering by the foreigners based on super power and diplomacy, these communities were merged together to form a clan. There was unity and relative calmness which the foreigners leveraged on to exploit this new clan. This situation occurred for many years until the elite members of this clan came together to discover that the foreigners were using them as slaves and to their undoing while developing their foreign land at their servitude. The unity and love this clan had was the major backbone for their joint effort to oust this foreigners who over exploited their human and natural resources. At the end the foreigners left and were out of their land. The clan enjoyed relative peace and progress and the sailing was smooth as there was some level of autonomy the communities were enjoying under their clanship. The elites who fought these invaders were united, patriotic and selfless. They all believed in mutual tolerance and love for the Clan. However along the lines some years later they had a fracas which led to a war among these communities. Because the conflict was much there were records of loss of lives and properties. However they were able to reconcile among themselves and saw the need to remain in their clanship as they all will be better off as a united group of people. Though there was still a good course to follow in attaining the same ideals the foreigners who invaded them earlier on and annexed them together had, yet greed, selfishness, pride and corruption, ethnoreligious sentiments, nepotism sprung up in their midst. They left the common good of the clan to follow vanities and loot their common treasure. Those who were unfortunate to loot as much as they could felt deprived and those who actually looted became the Lords and kingmakers. There was hope that successive leaders and administration could cement the bridge and restore back the lost confidence and reposition this clan to greatness surpassing the level which the foreigners recorded many years ago but all to no avail, as it seem to be a case of one falling down from the frying pan into the oven. The whole clan is complaining, food is scarce, security of lives and properties is at its ebbs, while the clamour for the disintegration of the clan by one of the aggrieved communities is at its apogee, untold stories of hardship which were never heard during the days the foreigners were exploiting this clan is now a common news talk. Many seem to lose hope, after series of blame of different administration manning the affairs of this clan and feel like nothing can be done that the clan is at its wits end having encountered their Achilles heel. However a group of people who were not the creators of these problems but through history and science been an integral origin of this clan have heard and experienced the problems that this clan is facing and have come together to reposition this clan to greatness. Trying to assuage all thoughts of indifference, marginalization and resentment by all the communities in this clan. They have come with ideas and ideals that are anchored on zero corruption, spirit of brotherhood and selflessness, integrity, accountability and pragmatic solutions of ingenuity to the cries of the people of this clan. This clan is Nigeria and the Communities are the ethnic nationalities we have in our country. Will you fold your hands and continue to cry and feel indifferent? Since we all are members of this clan do we maintain the status quo of political cabalism, lootocracy, chronic wickedness sandwiched with propaganda by our elder statesmen and political leaders, deceit and ethnoreligious chauvinism? Is it nothing to you that this same problems is what we want to leave behind for our children unborn and posterity? Is it nothing to you that if a criminal in point A relocates to Point B under the same economic and political circumstance that his likely to commit the same crime when the opportunities show forth? For the Sake of posterity lets restore our clan back to the days of our founding fathers in the Early 60's! Join this group of young minds whose only target and dream is SECURING A PEACEFUL, UNITED, PROGRESSIVE, CORRUPTION-FREE NIGERIA FOR NOW AND POSTERITY. #together wewill!!! Our signature says it all! |
