Otherwise such unity can only be enforced via the use of force.

The problem with us on the other hand is the tendency is to continue repeating the same evils decade after decade after decade, leaving one with the painful reality that we really do lack the capacity to develop/change as a people.

Let's try and connect one of the recent dots:

Prior to Nigeria gaining independence, Southern Nigeria was more than capable in terms of economic and infrastructural developments when compared to the Northern part of Nigeria. Hence logic dictated that if British (i.e. the concerned Europeans in this case) were interested in Africa's development, logic dictates that they would have aided and fully supported the control of the still infant Nigeria by the more developed Southern Nigeria.

However since Europeans (British in this case) were more interested in protecting their own interest within the land area known as Nigeria rather than have a developed Nigeria spurred on by Southern Nigeria, hence all the British did was to make sure that Northern Nigeria got the hold of power even via rigging. . . hence why there are news reports indicating the fact that British intentionally rigged the North into power at the infancy of Nigeria.

So you see . . . this is not a question of whether Africans are always complaining, rather this is a questions of historical statements showing how Europe has sabotaged the development of Africa and how they are continuing to sabotage it.
