Mehn my int'l passport have expired since 2014.

you can still apply for it if your date of interview is not so close... It's just a 24hr application process. you will get it the same day you applied for it. Make sure you obtain it because they were specific about its presentation during interview. Gudluck!

I currently don't have the facility to do that, but I received a message from USEmbassy this morning through sms. Since over 50,000 people applied, I think it should be according to badges.

from their suggestion, not all applicants will be selected for interview...only those who met the benchmark given to the panel that reviewed the applications will be invited for the interview (semi-finalists)

GIS has mandated all employer to refrain frm sending timesheet for exited interns/interns that had completed his or her one yr program.The mesg was sent on 4th Jan,2016 as a reminder to fill December timesheet.

i doubt your comment because it is not the employers that generate timesheet for interns. It is the GIS that prepares a vacant calendar of work for active interns and send it to employers to fill based on the numbers of days an intern worked in his/her firm. The employer has no provision to add or remove an intern based on the timesheet sent to him. So if an intern who suppose to have exited still has his/her timesheet marked it's the work of the GIS and not the employer who suppose to delete them on their database for active interns. Unless their is a dubious way your employer sent a timesheet for an intern that has for long exited the scheme.

Moreover let's not make an issue over this because if someone has exited or not but still receives stipend from GIS suppose not be your problem now...just concentrate on your work and live destiny to who controls it.
For those who called GIS CC over this issue, they weren't wrong because they noticed the anomaly and were concerned and curious to know why rather that being a beneficiary of an institutional gross error....
The elongation of the Nov/Dec interns is beyond our conclusion now even GIS CC are confused over this and are replying you based on the original design of the scheme. Change might occur and they may not know. (i believe those people over there are not working in hand with the GIS management i noticed it now and even when there was a delay in our payment. They kept giving inaccurate information)
let's be prayerfull and keep the hope alive as we await the official press statement by the Management over this

...it was a gross error from him and the weight is on me as i never missed going to work...we made frantic efforts by calls and mails to ensure it's corrected but it wasn't affected despite a concrete assurance from GIS.
It would have spoilt my day if not that i suppressed it.

It's well. We keep moving ahead.

As for other interns especially the new ones enjoy little and invest more more. Don't say 30k is too meager to invest it is a common say that if you can't manger 1naira you can't manage 1million Naira...remember the pay doesn't comes handy therefore save for the rainy day...let's build a Nation of investors

don't be too dismissive about it...my profile didn't read July timesheet but i got my pay in full!
Also this Oct I'm having 9days reading on my timesheet but I'm optimistic that i will get my pay in full.

Well...it's been long African governments have been frustrating her citizens...Nigeria is not exception if not worse. We have lamented they have shown no concern. The director general of this scheme is such very lame and lacks leadership charisma to an extent that he can't even negotiate for the salary of his own workers...he even failed to prioritize his plans by organizing jumbo training with money he ought to have used to pay stipend.

Fellow interns i urge you to move on, forget about the frustration caused by this...just move on but tomorrow be wiser with your votes!!!

I've come to know that the only language our government understand is violence. How come the uneducated Niger/Delta militant under the FG internship are receiving their stipend as at when due and also they receive twice our payment with other benefits so to say. Here we are as graduate, we're forgotten probably due to our calm and reasonable approach to matter. If at the end of today we didn't receive anything because I know that there'll be public holiday tomorrow that means we are likely not to see anything again this week, we should try and discuss on how to organize a peaceful protest across our individual state of Internship.

my brother i would have believe this protest if all interns are in a union...the state chapter of GIS is not organized so there is no way all interns could be mobilized to organize a peaceful demonstration... I hope those who are still under the scheme will just organize themselves to form a union from the local to the national level from that it could be possible to mobilize interns for a welfaric show! For now social media outlet should be used and all of us about 4500 interns should use it!

For now if we see alert before today runs off we praise God but I'm afraid we will celebrate the festival without our stipend...i have moved on for now!
