Mount Sinai Hospital. There are several "branches" depending on your exact location in NYC, its similar to what Houston Methodist have in Houston; different hospitals for different locations within Houston.

My POE transcript

Collected my passport from DHL 3 working days after interview....was nervous about this, as @Fyorgyn's took longer.....previous visa cancelled without prejudice and new one issued.

Travelled at 32 weeks plus with, Virgin Atlantic via London. Transit, just 3 hours....POE: New York City, JFK.

Was directed to the automated machines. Scanned my visa as directed....guess machine read that it was a B1/B2 visa...machine asked if this visit was B1 business or B2 tourist/medical..... I chose B2....ticked yes that I have food. Used machine to scan finger print and to take a photo.....print out from machine had a circle....joined the queue. Had my interview folder in my hand luggage...ready for any questions.

CBP (very cheerful young lady): hello
Me: hello...handed over my passport
CBP: looked at print out...stamped my passport.....asked if I had any food.
Me: yes and gave her a list that was already written out of the food items I had.
CBP: are any of these fresh?
Me: no
CBP: thanks....hands me back my passport
Me: thanks very much....(with small smile...so tired.....was stamped in for 6 months).

Picked up luggage...a good samaritan helped me get them off the conveyor belt and placed them on the trolley... luggage was not checked....wheeled my load to the ladies; (sorry too much info) used it and walked out of the bagage area to meet my sibling.

Food wise I declared garri, elubo (yam flour), semo, poundo yam, ground egusi (melon seeds), dried fish, ground pepper... Nothing was seized or checked or scanned...at least to my knowledge.

It was after i left her that it occurred to me that she didn't ask what I was in the U.S. for whether holiday or for baby; I choose to assume my efiko interview details are in their system already.

Hospital has matched me with an OBGYN...i choose 2 doctors based on their profiles on the hospital websites and healthgrades reviews....and asked them to book whoever is available... first appointment is in a few days...hospital communication was by email...a few other hospitals said I needed to call or fax....difficult to document information from a phone call...and who still uses fax in this day and age...

Birth and passport story to follow, DV. Patiently waiting for LO to arrive and missing home already......its freezing!!!!.....

Thankful is my middle name!

thank you dear.. i heard buying the ticket over there is cheaper thats why i thought about doing it that way. checked travel start and expedia.. its almost the same price as going to new york o..quote author=Michoolu post=63117835]

Nobody09 please buy your ticket to El -Paso before you travel. Its safer for your POE.
Don't wait till you get to New York to buy it. Simple Advice and have evidence of your accommodation in New York and El-Paso [/quote]

just heard from a friend that telling the VO that "better medical health care" as your reason for going to give birth in the us doesnt fly anymore... meanwhile in part 2 of this thread, someone advised that we can choose to tell that to the VO... and also go further in explaining how the cost was cheaper in the US than in the UK... as the VO asked her that during her interview,
please.. do help me on the most smartest answer to give...as na still God dey help person.

hi everyone, i had to read this thread from the very beginning. you guys are awesome for sharing your personal experiences. Anyways, im a first time February mum hoping to give birth in El paso. i just need advice on a few things.. first.. i would like to know if applying with my husband will be to my advantage even tho he may or not be coming to join me.and even if we do together, should we tell the vo he would be joining me later or no need.secondly, does the picture i uploaded on the ds 160 form have to be the same passport i take along with me to the interview?. my ties are marriage and msc basically. thank you
