Kamdi Okeke, a 21-year-old Nigerian student, graduated summa cum laude from Drexel University on June 11, 2026, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering with a 3.95 GPA.

His academic performance placed him among the top graduates in his programme and earned him first-class honours with the highest distinction.

In addition to his academic record, Okeke achieved a score of 521 on the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) and built a strong profile through community service, biomedical research and artificial intelligence-related projects.

He gained admission to five leading U.S. medical schools, including the Perelman School of Medicine, and was also placed on the waitlist of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is scheduled to begin his Doctor of Medicine (MD) programme in August 2026.

In recognition of his academic excellence, leadership potential and contributions to biomedical innovation, Okeke was awarded the Perelman School of Medicine’s Twenty-First Century Scholars’ Award, a merit-based scholarship covering full tuition and fees for the four-year MD programme, valued at more than $320,000.

You are right but everyone's case is not same especially if someone doesn't have travel advantages I know someone who used #15000000, fifteen million naira at March 2024 got refusal August 2024 reason POF and this guy works as a senior manager in a bank Nigeria but was denied with all home ties and other documents the vo simply said insufficient funds , so these days it's better if one can increase Pof as big as possible because In SOWP no POF was defined

how do validate a passport with more than 6 months validity if you have less than 6 months it will not be stamped so how do you go about this

immediately you get your visa, go ahead and extend your passport to 10yrs validity in Nigeria. be serious with this advice. renew/extend your passports in Nigeria.
also, its best to come with PR, because student pathway to PR has casted & its extremely expensive. not worth it, in my opinion. this advice will save you alot of money & stress

The caregiver scheme requires a full time job offer, which is the most difficult aspect of the program requirement . Currently, thousands of students and residents have graduated from the PSW program and cannot even find a full time job inside Canada . Do you think you will get a job offer from outside of Canada for this program when the program itself is not even certain to start? Considering the current job scarcity in Canada, please be realistic and face the reality on the ground!

A man who was denied boarding for a flight is expressing gratitude after learning the plane he was unable to catch crashed, killing all 62 people on board.

Adriano Assis, a hospital worker, recounted his experience of running late to catch Voepass Airlines flight 2283 from Cascavel to São Paulo on Friday morning. Assis said he arrived at the Cascavel Regional Airport around 9:40 am, an hour and 16 minutes before the scheduled 11:56 am departure, but found no agents at the check-in counter.

By the time Assis made it downstairs to the check-in area at around 10:30 am, a long line had formed. When he reached the counter at 10:41 am, just 15 minutes before the flight was set to board, the airline staff refused to allow him to check in, citing the 1-hour cutoff.

Assis argued with the staff, but they stood firm in their decision. Tragically, the flight Assis had hoped to make crashed shortly after takeoff, killing all 58 passengers and 4 crew members on board.

Still at the airport, Assis saw the news of the plane crash. He later returned to the check-in area to hug the staff who had denied him boarding, thanking them for saving his life.

"The staff saved my life by not letting me board that plane," Assis said. "I'm grateful they were doing their job, even if I was upset at the time."

Assis was not alone - 10 other passengers who were waiting at the wrong gate also missed the ill-fated flight. Some of them have also come forward to express their gratitude for not being allowed to board.

The ATR 72-500 turboprop plane crashed in a residential area of Vinhedo, São Paulo, shortly after departing Cascavel. Authorities confirmed there were no survivors. Brazil's President Lula da Silva expressed solidarity with the victims' families, and the state of São Paulo has declared three days of mourning.

While the cause of the crash remains under investigation, the tragic incident has left Assis and the other passengers thankful to be alive, even as they mourn those who perished.

I hope you are aware that having a 2,3 or 10-year visit visa does not mean you can stay in Canada for 2,3 or 10 years as a tourist. The maximum stay at any given time is 6 months or less, depending on what the border officer decides. An extension for another 6 months is possible, but it is not automatic and may diminish your chances of returning to Canada in the future.

Thanks for this as at today many people with 2years visa who over stayed by staying more than 6months at a stretch of their 2 years visa have been banned and many don't still believe it and worst of it all Canada new immigration policy makes it impossible for companies to give you work on vv but at the end of the day many will not believe it until they try and see

It's not about people rushing it's about reality of the law many people are today in Canada stranded but rushed because people were rushing with visiting visa and believed they can convert it,today canada immigration law is reality and that's what I just pointed out to avoid what I was told VS what is reality

I wouldn't like to say you are not saying the truth but the fact is that visa duration is not solely dependent on your international passport, the only concrete theory here is that your visa can not exceed your passport validity and if your passport is less than 6months you may not be issued a visa on same passport the vo will request u submit a new passport but for 10years its not in any canadian website or recognised by any CBS authority as a must, but if you have where this law is stated I will be glad to see and learn

The validity of your passport and biometrics will determine how long your visa is going to be valid for; however, the biometrics' validity will take precedence over the passport.

If you want your visa to be valid for 10 years, then both your passport and biometrics must be valid for 10 years.

What this means is that you can’t get a visa beyond the validity of the biometrics you have on file with the IRCC.

If your biometrics are valid for 2 years and your passport is valid for 10 years, you will only get a 2-year visa.

There are some rare cases where applicants got visas with less validity even though both their passports and biometrics had longer validity.

I hope u don't mean that first time applicants with passport validity of 10years will automatically get 10years visa

For once let's leave politics rumors and be factual is Nigeria really doing good

This depends on the how inflow enters the account because looking at it if she makes $7k every month it will make sense to give someone $3k to spend on 11 days holiday but if it's savings after a while the vo may look it that like what is so important that after someone has saved $7k for awhile she will give you halve of her investment to be spent within 11 days what is important of this holiday just try and think towards that angle also , cos if you had like #10m with heavy inflows then it will show ur not dependent on your sisters support , and she gives $1k out of $7k with steady inflows it means it's just relaxation just think about it

Thanks dear I really really appreciate this details u just listed out for me. I have some piggy box savings I have been saving since last year June but I have not open it yet. Also I heard the do POF for visa can I do d POF and how many days should I keep it. Or I should be sending in money to my personal account that I do use for expenses not my business account. I have personal Ecobank for business where customer do pay money for there goods, and fidelity for my savings. I do have steady inflow and outflow from the fidelity.

1.Now is it compulsory I will have a closing bal of that 3m in naira I budget for my 11days trip? Or I should just leave any bal as my closing bal since there is good inflow and outflow.
2. My blood sister is supporting with 3000$ and my own person budget both flight, hotel, train fare and food estimate is 2.3k plus but round figure I use 2.5m. Becos i saw cheaper hotels at Niagara fall for 630$cad.
3. I have filled the form but I submitted my old bank statement in order to save and continue what can I do in my IRCC account. Because I have uploaded my Nin, PASSPORT biodata,as IRCC requested when filling d last part of my application. I have an expired passport with west Africa travel stamp Togo and Benin republic can I upload it too in my application upload, CAC certificate all in my file but my TIN certificate is at home not uploaded in my Drive.

Hi just to add to what u have been told if example you are putting your sister as your sponsor and her statement has $4k and she is given you 3k for sponsorship this is a red flag it wouldn't fly cos the VOs will expect that someone sponsoring another person for holiday should have over enough execpt you can prove that the impact of the holiday will affect your sponsor very very positively, of possible I will suggest you go through the advice already given and think it over before submission it's always good to get it right on POF in the first attempt ,
