Webmasters / Re: What Do You Think About Nigeria Having An Association Controlling Blogging by nollywoodbabe: 7:04am On Apr 21, 2016
Donkenzy47:
Sometimes I begin to imagine what the future have for blogging in Nigeria. Everyday hundreds of blogs are created in Nigeria without any plan. The same post i see on Cheezy's blog is the same post i will see on Lara's blog and several other blogs without even trying to change the topic, image or atleast reconstruct the post.
When thinking about it today, I just feel like an association should be setup up for bloggers and every blog both old and new should be registered.
The association will ensure that every blog in Nigeria meets up to standard before they can proceed with registration.
New blogs should be well examined and the blogger will have to pass through some serious examination.
Any blog that doesnt meet up to standard should be taking as a personal blog and must not be monetised but can accept donations anyway.

And any blog which deals in copy and paste should be warned and if it persists, the blogger can be sued for copyright infrigement.
Atleast with this, even if there are over a million entertainment blogs in Nigeria, they will all have totally different and interesting posts which will never get anyone bored.

This is just my thought and i will like to know your opinion on this..

No that is not the way to go.... You have what you just described in Nollywood the movie sector. You have it in the music sector...etc. Every body jumping into anything hoping to make a Kill... The only way to deal with such is Leave it alone. If they are good people will patronize whatever they are doing and they will get paid rendering a service to Society and if they are not good their Products or Craft will die a natural death...so its a win! win! situation...

And what has that to do with SARAKI being arrested? Nigerians will gladly applaud the jailing of 1000 corrupt Judges if that is what it takes to put SARAKI behind Bars Nigerians wants to see Saraki in Jail if found guilty everything is not interesting to the Average Nigerian.

YOU are right cos actually some Nigerian artist are Richer than the ones Abroad. Apart from the fact that People no longer buy CDs their Record label takes a Huge chunk of their money to recoup their investment. Remember Toni Braxton how Broke she was despite her Massive Hits, it was all due to Record Label.. Many of Artists abroad also flunt lots of stuff that are not fully paid for unlike Nigerian Artists..

Can't believe falana said this.

Tried without a substantive evidence all on the premise that PanamaPapers said.

Sorry to say, I am seeing that this Falana guy is a loquacious ranter who wants attention all the time

And I guess you have not heard that the Prime minister of Iceland has Resigned because of "PanamaPapers Said" as you put it. So while the world is already taking action you want the Original Copies in your hands before you do shey? But fortunately getting Copies to try or indict individuals will be a piece of cake cos we live in the information age where everything is shared digitally just as you would be surprised to know where am sending this from.

First thing, Linda is not at the mercy of anyone. She stands to make more money out of this situation. The person who loses the most from this is Wizkid because his steady rants would only give him temporary relief for a few minutes, the pain would linger on.

Linda herself, no better than Wizkid, should stop letting petty things get to her. The more she reveals her poverty mentality from these issues the more she gives potential enemies fuel to burn her in similar situations. We've not yet gotten over the bag issue she's already jumped on this one. I lost total respect for her after the bag scandal because I thought it a non-issue which sadly she didn't.

I commend the OP's recommendation of her getting motivational books and other materials to match her self-worth with her physical status. I've now noticed dressing up in the latest, most expensive attires don't raise one's self esteem; it reduces it instead.

Very nice. Lots of people can also learn from your take on this issue and it is my hope that Linda gets to read and learn from this.

One Nigeria is...ALL ABOUT OIL! They have ravaged most of the oil in the SS; nearly 80% of their proven reserves depleted, environment polluted now they are heading into SE. Imo, Abia and Anambra. Anambra has the largest oil and gas reserves in Nigeria followed by Imo and Abia...the irony is Nigerians don't know this. Even Igbos don't even know this! They hide this from us!

We can pretend all is well but remember...when a situation or condition reaches critical mass, THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO STOP IT!

Before we discovered Oil, how did Nigeria survive? What has been happening in the Country all these years is nothing but LAZINESS!!! Nigeria has the best land to grow crops, the manpower to do it, the money to Fund it. So once again why the dependence on Oil? Agriculture is the Future! Agriculture is Gold, Money for Oil should be kept in the Reserve

Phones / MTN Pays Nigeria, $250 Million Fine by nollywoodbabe: 11:46pm On Feb 24, 2016
The South African mobile phone operator MTN Group withdrew its lawsuit against Nigeria’s regulator over a $3.9 billion fine and paid $250 million toward a possible settlement.

Last month a judge in the former capital city of Nigeria Lagos, gave both parties until March 18 to reach a settlement, after MTN had asked the court to arbitrate over the dispute, saying the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) had no legal grounds to order the fine.

The South African MTN, which makes about 37 percent of its sales in Nigeria, said it would withdraw its court challenge in an effort to reach an amicable settlement and make a “good faith payment” of $250 million toward a possible settlement.

“This is a sign that the fine could be reduced much further. There is some sort of negotiation taking place and the parties are migrating towards a common ground,” said Dobek Pater, managing director of Africa Analysis.

The original penalty was based on fining MTN $1,000 for every unregistered SIM card in use.

Nigeria has been trying so hard to halt the widespread use of unregistered SIM cards amid worries they are being used for criminal activity, including by the Islamist group Boko Haram. The fine also came months after Muhammadu Buhari was swept to power after an election campaign which pledged tougher regulation and a fight against corruption. http://.com/2016/02/24/mtn-pays-nigeria-250-million-fine/

These people could care less about our country and our own talent! How many of them have invited Dare to host their event in America?? Who are we kidding? Look at the state of our economy, you will now pay them how much?? (in dollars) to come and do what? Its 2016 and we need to stop being foolish, STOP THE BS!!!!! undecided

Sorry to say this, but your post doesn't make any sense for the following Reasons

1. Nigerian Music (Afrobreat) is one of the very few that has taken over Africa and it's beginning to Penetrate the world
2. Nigerians now put Afrobeat above every other genre of Music as it's played 80% in Nigerian Clubs, Parties, Both Home and Abroad
3. This strong Love and Mass appeal for Nigerian Music has made other Genre of Music sort of seems extinct

With these in Mind it becomes fun to hear other genre of music, see other artists, etc.. once in a while... Also the world is now a Global Village where people all over interacts, mix and meet, so it's no longer a Big Deal whether an R-Kelly or Beyonce visits.. Again you have no right to deprive anyone from meeting their Idol simply because they are not Nigerians, that is Discrimination right there! So allow people have fun please and stop making this an Issue when it is not

A Lot of us that leaves outside Nigeria are mostly into Naija Music... I have hundreds of CD's (that I have collected over the years) of Foreign artists, but since Naija Music Break out, I don't play them anymore, they are just decorations here that I will eventually give out to anybody that wants, cos I am all about Naija music, so allow people that wants to feel and enjoy other Genre of Music do because we can't all be the same.. It's one Life to live and people that can afford this Show should please go out and enjoy themselves..PLease!
I have seen Micheal Jackson in Concert at very close range twice! I have seen LL.COOL J, Janet Jackson in concert at very Close range once each! 2pac Died before I got the Chance to see him...so I have seen the ones I wanted to see, and now I am only about Naija Music..2face, Majek, Timaya... so people that wants to see foreign acts should do so. Thank you

Nothing inferior about this abeg. She is from Finland and she loves Nigerian music end of story. This doesn't translate to inferiority complex by Nigerians that loves what she is doing. Incase many dont know, Nigeria has a very badly damaged image by politicians and yahoo yahoo. It is our footballers, musicians and Nollywood that is fixing and giving us a good image abroad. So if some one is helping to promote us abroad via our music nothing bad with it. Essi is my friend and she is very cool. I helped her promote her rendition of our national anthem and she was excited and happy. By the way she did justice to it.

what is wrong with people here? Everyone insulting Blackface that he has not Blown and so people have rights to be stealing his intelectual property?
Some of the best Musicians in the world today don't write their own songs, even some Nigerian musicians don't write theirs. They have paid people writing for them. It is also a very vital part of the industry which Blackface happens to be good at. Abroad some song writers even make more money than the artist so why are people insulting Blackface? To think that he even co-wrote AFRICAN QUEEN is a crime that they never want3d to credit him not to talk of paying him. Pls ur love for 2face should not cloud ur better Sense of judgments.

http://nollywoodbabes.com/the-tithe-lie/ One of the biggest crimes you can commit today is to speak on the subject of Tithe because everyone will come very hard against you, even close friends and family members sometimes, Why? Because their Great Bishop, GO, Pastor, Prophet who knows more than the Author of the Bible has made a Pronouncement of what Tithe is and that’s it case closed! It’s never what the Bible said, but what these Revered and Respected people say ! When it comes to Tithe, people are even ready to ague with an Angel from Heaven that he is wrong, so it’s not a Topic that anyone can even go into.

A lady on facebook did one of the very best Research you can ever find on Tithe using Biblical References, but people did not just Insult her, some even Threatened her to take down the Video or Die. It is because of this same Tithe that Thieves, Witch-Doctors, Armed Robbers, Cultist, Evil people has all started their own Churches with large congregations. Celebrities / Mercy Johnson Is Getting Ready For Edo Politics by nollywoodbabe: 8:20pm On Jan 25, 2016
http://nollywoodbabes.com/mercy-johnson-getting-ready-for-edo-politics/ When we reported recently that some youths are clamoring for Mercy Johnson’s husband Prince Odi Okojie to be the deputy governor of Edo State, we forgot to add that his wife Mercy must be ready for the tough job. With this photo of the couple and Pastor Ize-Iyamu we may not need to say that anymore as it seems Mercy Johnson is already getting ready for the tough job ahead, that is if her husband Prince Odi Okojie is eventually picked as the running mate to Pator Ize Iyamu. And while some fans of Pastor Ize-Iaymu and PDP members are happy about this because they figured out that Mercy Johnson on the Campaign train, it will bring in more votes for the Pastor and PDP. The APC members on the other hand feels Mercy Johnson won’t make any difference as they argued that the entire Nollywood and many music stars supported Former President Jonathan but at the end Buhari still won. Regardless of how you view this, it is safe to say Edo State is indeed getting ready for some interesting times ahead http://nollywoodbabes.com/mercy-johnson-getting-ready-for-edo-politics/

You are so wrong. It is a known fact all over the world that you can be in music for a very long time before you make a hit. Blackface it was that wrote most of Plantashun boys hits. What i see with him today is his refusal to compromize his Ghetto Reality Rude Boy style of music. Otherwise he can easily make a hit with the type of music Nigerians go for today, which relys Heavily on BEATS than Lyrical content or Message. But what has your post got to do with the Message here? That someone is an underdog means he should be trampled on? How would you feel if someone stole something precious to you? Even he is ur pastor if he stole or took ur phone u would complain so why is the Love for Tuface is blinding us from the Truth? Yes, I too am a fan of 2face. Everyone loves him, maybe that is why he does stuff like this cos he expects everyone to take his side like you are doing now

After so many years in the dark, Blackface is finally out with a new single which has trust him back to the limelight. He has also accused Tuface (via a series of Tweets) of stealing his song, but some fans are already taking sides with Tuface as they attack and Insult Blackface and calling him names. We are here to say people should stop Insulting BlackFace Please! We all LOVE Tuface, but that doesn’t mean we should hide from the Truth… Everybody knows BlackFace is the Most Talented one from the group Plantahsunboyz (Tuface, Blackface, Faze) when it comes to songs writing

as he wrote most of their songs so no need to Insult him for speaking out. He has a right to his intellectual property, he has a right to be angry that his close buddy did not reach out to him during very dark periods…so people should chill… Many commenting and insulting Blackface might do the same if not worse. Our Love for 2face must never cloud our better sense of Judgement. It s our hope that before this thing gets to the courts Tuface Idibia will reach out to Blackface and settle this. Black face whose new name is “BLACKFACE NAIJA” is out with a brand new Single titled “KILLAH” see the Video below http://nollywoodbabes.com/tuface-vs-blackface-our-love-for-tuface-shouldnt-cloud-our-sense-of-judgement-please/
