Stumbled upon this thread! How time flies, these were the prime Redmi phones.

I really had a great time on this platform. I ended up buying Redmi Note 8 twice, that's how great the phone was.

The only problem you might encounter is battery life, camera is out of this world.

It is not as fast as flagship devices but it gets the job done.

It was going to be one of the best.

It is a pity that 13T that's coming to Naija are missing Leica tuning and branding.

apple has come out to say that the bug fix won't affect the performance of the phone.

Do you think a company as big as Apple can come out and say that they are going to throttle the performance of their devices?

Apple will have to slow down the phone because the overheating is being caused by the hardware.

That's true, they are just unlucky. I have had a smooth ride with Redmi devices before I switched to Samsung.

Which channels do you use to download movies on telegram?

If you care about updates you should go for Samsung since it will get up to Android 17.

While Android 14 is just around the corner. Oh the beta is already out

I started using Xiaomi when I bought Redmi Note 8 and used it for 2 years and then gave it to my younger brother. He is still using it even today and he hasn't complained of anything till now. Then I bought Redmi 10 and used it for a year and then gave it to my dad early this year when I bought Galaxy A73.

To cut the story short, Redmi devices are one of the most reliable phones one can buy.

You took the hassle of going back to MIUI after saying you are tired only to flash another rom again.

I'm the one who said I was tired. And my younger brother has since assumed the ownership of that RN8

Oh I see But the Gcam still uses a fraction of camera libraries/resource files from your phone's OS to produce a balanced result.
To contextualise, I've used Gcam installed on Miui OS & I've also used Gcam installed on AOSP on same device.. And guess what? The best pictures by miles are from Gcam on Miui. I figured every OS has a camera library that partly controls every third-party camera software installed. Interesting, isn't it?

I'm glad you said it, I observed this when I ported my RN8 to AOSP

I'm in South Africa so I can't sell it to you, plus I use it mainly for camera since it is much better than Redmi10

I am also using RN8, but I doubt you will find a brand new one now, unless it is 2021 version with a Mediatek chipset. Mine still serves me well, even the battery still holds well although now I most use it only to take photos since I'm using Redmi 10 as a daily driver.

Been a while since i used custom ROMs. I sticked to the stock rom. am currently using Redmi Note 10 pro that i bought in June, 2022.(miui 13.0.12 stable Android 12) but am considering getting a 5G redmi phone either XIAOMI 11T PRO 12GB/256GB or Global Version POCO X4 Pro 5G NFC Smartphone 8GB/ 256G. i want to test run MTN 5G in my location.

11T Pro is a worthy upgrade

You tried though going back to Miui, it's not easy for some folks to switch and stay with custom roms.

Personally, I've been on custom roms (over 3 years now) since I got my Redmi Note 5 Pro.

I've never for once liked Miui and with the help of custom roms, Android 13 is now available for my device.

Some folks are fond on Stock ROM, it all comes down to preference.

The bootloader part was just an emphasis that I'm not even thinking of going the modding way anytime soon

Quite true, native ROMs are optimised for each model and works best for it, reason I don't do custom roms but I can switch between ROMs of different regions based on what I need.

Truth be told, MIUI isn't as bad as people say it is, works just fine for me.

I really enjoyed the ride but eventually got tired n returned to MIUI, the best rom is the one that comes preloaded with phone

Got tired of modding my phone and custom ROMs, back to MIUI, even locked the bootloader.

I settled for Havoc OS, to answer your question, I have never been a fan of GBWhatsapp so NO. I'm not using it and I haven't even tried it.
