Indeed this was a mature debate. And tbh all these two brands are great. I have used Umidigi A3 but now I'm using Redmi Note 8. |

Phones › Re: The Xiaomi Thread. by nongo123(m): 8:49am On Oct 28, 2020 |
genius43: NB: This is stable Beta download fast before it is gone and if it doesn't work for you keep the file, if the wider rollout remains the same it will still work. Before you blame anyone of wasting your data.
How to manually update..
Go to Settings > About phone > System update.
If tapping the 3-dot button shows the “Choose update package” option, click on that and choose the downloaded ROM from your internal storage or SD card. In case you don’t find the “Choose update package” option from the 3-dot menu, tap on the MIUI 11 logo inside the “System update” page several times. A prompt will then show that additional updater settings are now available. Now you can tap on Choose update package and select the MIUI 11/12 update file
That’s it. The system will start decrypting the file and install it automatically for you. Wait for it to finish the process, which may take 10-30 mins
Data should be on during the decryption process I got a message that I can't update to this stable package

festwiz: That's a good upgrade. I would've recommended a RN9 but the RN8 is still a solid device. I wanted a Snapdragon device and I found RN9s too big for my liking. |

Most of the specs are nice but HD+ screen is a no go area for me. You simply can't pair 6Gb Ram and 128GB ROM with an HD+ screen, it doesnt make sense at all. |

jikins: For who it may concern. MIUI 12 is live on redmi note 7 EEA version. It hasn't been pushed to the normal system updater app in settings though. But it was shared on the official miui updates telegram group. Hoping MIUI 12 for RN8 is also on the way. I'm going to get the device on Saturday. |

maclawrence02: Most of my shots are taken with gcam installed on my rn7. Some are not edited while some are edited with snapseed, lightroom or Airbrush, sometimes i use all three, two or one of them depending on what I'm hoping to achieve. Ive always indicated which is edited and which is not. That been said i can only speak for my device cos I've never used rn8. I'm very my ok with my devi e. Now these are beautiy! Which version of GCam did you you use? |

I have been following this thread for about a year or so now. I have fell in love with RN8, I have also watched more than 20 reviews of the phone and I can say that it ticks all the boxes for me. But recently RN9 got released and they are in the same price range but I have noticed that the latter runs on MediaTek G85 SoC while the former runs on Snapdragon 665. I like taking pictures a lot and I'm not into gaming. So I have noticed that even RN9 does support GCam so I want to know how is the GCam output of RN9 compared to RN8. I will be buying a new phone on the 24th of this month.
Which is the better phone overall? |
