I believe with their current drive, metering should be a piority objective

You shouldn't blame Nigerians on wasting electricity.

My dad retired with NEPA, and you're right, prepaid metering would have worked, but those meters were brought in and instead of it to be distributed, they were sold to the highest bidder.

I know of a man that spent almost 50k just to get a prepaid meter in our estate, because he got tired of the bills they kept bringing every month without bringing electricity.

So OP, the fault is from the head. It has always been.

I can bet that the rate at which electricity is wasted in the US cannot be compared to what is being wasted here.

Like I said, you cannot waste what you don't have.
