The 22 year old Moses Obi Adigwe has been declared as the winner of TV reality show 'Nigerian Idol' season 3!

After an opening performance from season one winner Yeka Onka, the show started with the host Illrymz introducing the two final contestants Moses and Debbie Debbie Olu-Rise on stage.

The 10 other finalists joined them and they all performed together for the last time.

D'banj made a surprise appearance on stage and performed his verse of Naeto C's 'Tony Montana' remix, concluding his set with his own single 'On top of the world'.

Moses who's the first male contestant to win the competition goes home with a cheque of N15million (N7.5M cash and N7.5M recording deal) and a brand new SUV!

Dr. Chudi Nwike, the former Deputy Governor of Anambra State who was kidnapped on March 19, has been killed by his kidnappers who had demanded a N30 million ransom and actually collected a negotiated amount.

The Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) said that the body was identified at the Agbor Police Station in Delta State by the Anambra State Chairman of the party), Chief Amaechi Obidike, State Secretary Barr Emeka Ibe, and the victim's brother, Dr.Bufo Nwike.


The statement noted that the family had negotiated and paid a ransom prior to the discovery of the body, Bufo Nwike handling the negotiations and arranging to pay to the kidnappers N5million at an undisclosed location in Delta State.

That ransom was paid on April 5, but the kidnappers, after collecting the money from the courier, cut off all further communications.  The body was discovered thereafter.

"We are tremendously ashamed of the circumstances of his death and wish we could now erase from history that a former Deputy Governor of a State in Nigeria died in this manner," ACN said in the statement.

The party called on the security agencies, in view of the fact that they did not succeed in tracking down the abductors of the former Deputy Governor while he lived, to "rise and smash all obstacles on the way to unearthing the abductors and killers of ACN's rare gem, an embodiment of peace and knowledge."

Cyclists strip down for the third annual Cape Town Naked Bike Ride on Saturday, 9 March 2013, as a precursor to the Cape Argus Pick n Pay Cycle Tour and as a colourful protest against car culture and oil dependency.

The World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR), a global initiative hosted in over 50 cities, seeks to create awareness around environmental issues, to celebrate the power and individuality of the human body and to highlight the dangers faced by cyclists on local roads. All participating countries in the southern hemisphere will drop their tops and bottoms on the same day (9 March) to unite in a peaceful, imaginative and somewhat insane demonstration for these worthy causes.

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) has announced that it has concluded plans to commence attacks in the Niger Delta region. MEND, few hours after a South African court sentenced its leader, Henry Okah, to 24 years imprisonment over the October 1 Independence Day bombing in Abuja said the incarceration of its leader would not affect its activities.


The spokesman of MEND, Jomo Gbomo, in its latest statement, said the militant group would commence attacks from midnight on Friday, April 6 in sustained attacks code-named "Hurricane Exodus." According to Gbomo, "Hurricane Exodus is a direct repercussion of a forged threat letter contrived by the Nigerian and South African governments purporting to have originated from MEND," which he said contributed to the jail term handed Okah by the court.

MEND vowed that "the attacks will be sustained until an unreserved apology is offered to MEND and the Nigerian government shows their willingness to dialogue, the same way they are willing to dialogue with Boko Haram." The Joint Military Task (JTF), Operation Pulo Shield, in its reaction said it got wind of the statement before it was issued and advised those parading themselves as MEND members to desist from any action that could disrupt the peace in the Niger Delta.

Thousands of residents in Lagos State, southwest Nigeria, will enjoy  free BRT rides throughout the month of April, RLG Communications Nigeria Limited said on Tuesday.

RLG, a subsidiary of AGAMS Group of Companies, is a pan African company engaged in the production of communications equipment such as mobile handsets, electronic notebooks, tablets, laptops, LCD TV monitors, and has been trying to break into the Nigerian market since it moved in from Ghana.

The BRT buses are easily identifiable and will ply Ikorodu - CMS, Okokomaiko - Mile 2 and Ajah - CMS routes, said Taiwo Latilo, RLG Nigeria Chief Operating Officer.

The decision to provide free buses for Lagos residents, RLG chief operating officer explained, is based on the belief that their business is more likely to do well in a flourishing society where citizens are happy.

He however called on the residents to be orderly in boarding the buses and allow as many people as possible to benefit from the opportunity.

Chocolate City Record has released a statement to dispel the rumour making rounds that they released information which says that former label artiste, Jesse Jagz own some monies to them.

Read statement below;

"Chocolate City has never released information on any owed monies by the Artiste, Jesse Jagz and as a matter of fact is not being owed any monies by the Artiste through show performances or other means. Furthermore, Chocolate City also states categorically that Jesse Jagz does not have a history of Marijuana abuse neither did it or any of its staff make any allegations to that effect.

"The Legal and Content Manager of the label commented and confirmed that 'at no time has Jesse Jagz's career been dormant. Stating that Jesse Jagz's career has been dormant is a gross understatement as he has since the release of "Jagz of All Trades", focused on the production aspect of his career working with Brymo and Ice Prince on their respective albums as well as featuring on several songs with various artists. His sophomore album, "Jagz Nation Vol. 1″ will be released in 2013 as scheduled. Furthermore, it is untrue that Jesse Jagz has refused to appear at the Chocolate City office when invited. At all material times, Jesse and his team have always responded and communicated with Chocolate City in respect to all matters and continue to do so.

"Whilst certain issues are still under resolution, the Chief Executive Officer of the Music Group, Mr. Audu Maikori, confirms – 'I never sent a summons to Jesse Jagz nor did I receive any derogatory email from Jesse Jagz refusing to attend any meetings'. What is even more ludicrous is that Audu Maikori has been in the USA on official business and as such couldn't have summoned Jesse for a meeting when he was abroad. Jesse and Audu have and have always had a cordial and respectful relationship, a relationship that still exists till date.
"Finally, we understand the concerns of fans and well wishers in respect the alleged Jesse Jagz "war" with Chocolate City. Our position is that there is no war within our camp.
