This morning in church during sunday service was kinda awkward. When time came to "shake the hands of peace" people were just avoiding hands and staring at each other in church.

The Fear of Ebola no funny at all

RomanceThe Truth About What Attracts Women.... by nonsonnamani(op): 2:05pm On Jul 31, 2014
By Chidinmma George...the female love doctor for men.
Source: www.facebook.com/makeherchaseyou

Every day I get approached by guys who just don't get
it...

Like, from the look of things they think they do but
they just don't.

Have you ever seen an extremely pretty girl who is
dating a guy who looks so damn ordinary that you go
like - "what the heck did that babe see in that dude?"

I hear that all the time; stuffs like - "the dude is too
ugly for that babe jare".

The thing most dudes just don't get is the fact that
when it comes to what makes we women trip, it's
hundred percent different from what makes you guys
trip.

For a lady, all it takes is just to flash some boobs and
probably look you in the eyes in a seductive manner
and bam - you are turned on - that is, you guys are attracted
by what you see.

The mistakes guys make is thinking that what works
for men actually work for women.

They feel maybe if they look a bit good, had six packs
that maybe they will get women swooning around
them.

I see dudes wail about how average or not so good
looking they look. Then I see some others, who don't
really look that fine, give my pretty girlfriends
headaches and heartbreaks.
I see some other dudes who put on great clothes, dress
really nice, forms fresh boys here and there and think it
stops there - only for a guy who they look better than to
steal their girlfriends from them.

Most guys go out, try to get a girl of their dreams only
to watch her turn them down.
Then they start thinking something is wrong with
them; they go like - "maybe it's money, maybe I didn't
spend enough".

So they go out and spend like they are Santa, acts
really nice around her, take all sort of BS from her,
tries so hard not to make her upset. You basically
become a "nice guy" - but the same thing happens; the
girl turns you down again.

Then You give up; you insist something is wrong with
you.

Well, the truth is this - There is something wrong with
you and it is that you just don't get it.

The FACT IS THIS - while you guys fall for what you see,
we ladies fall for some thing else that can NEVER be
seen.

And what is that?

The PERSONALITY and MANLY QUALITIES of a man.
The fact is this; some dudes are so verrry good in
making we women trip that they do it so easily (I have
fallen under the spells of one of such guys -they call
'em "players".

Some other dudes are just plain annoying; so annoying
and uninteresting that we have no option but to turn
them into a play thing.
They call us - we don't pick.
They ask to see us - we give excuses why we can't
(when we might be in a guy's house at that very
moment they called us up to ask)

I hear a lot of pained guys moan about how un loyal we
girls are. It's funny sha; we are the most loyal creatures
if you can be a man with the ATTRACTION TRIGGER
QUALITY we want. We will so stick with you

The fact is this....

Every man can have that quality. Trust me, I'm a
woman - every man can become a man any woman will
kill to want to be with.
It doesn't matter how you look or how much you earn.

When you see a hot babe dating a guy who is almost
nothing - don't wonder why.
It's the way we are wired. It's the way we think. Call it
fish brain or what ever you want.

We trip for personalities you guys trip for booty
To sum up...

- Any man can make women chase after him if he can
have the personality and quality that triggers
attraction in women (I will explain such qualities in
subsequent posts)

- we women don't give a hoot about how you look,
maybe to a little extent we do but we would rather date
an average looking guy who has the personalities that
get we women tripping than a handsome dude who
doesn't.
Jokes EtcAsumming Adam And Eve Were Nigerians. by nonsonnamani(op): 11:53am On Dec 19, 2013
*picks pen*

I want you to do something for me, close ya eyes for a moment and imagine Adam and Eve were nigerians.

Please before I continue, I will advise that you shouldn't try this imagination session if you are not yet up to 18. The last time I checked anybody below 18 is banned from watching 18 rated movies - weather for your mind o, or on a TV screen.

With that said, let's continue

Now close one of your eyes and continue reading with one open eye; imagine Adam and Eve as Nigerians. As in, all black everything.

Of course Eve, as a confirm Niaja babe who is in a relationship with the only man on earth, will always count Adam's ribs first thing every morning - just to make sure another woman wasn't created when she was crashing.
Assuming one was, by mistake, created while she was asleep then she would be snopping under Adam's Facebook account to know which babe is liking his picture or commenting "cutie" under his profile pictures.
Of course kwa, Eve would have been so demanding that she would have always demanded that God creates a new iphone or that Adam takes her sightseeing in Haven.

*oya, lemme not bring God into this post. Their is a thin line between blasphemy and the other side*

Of course, if Eve was a niaja babe, when she first gets approached by the serpent - quickly, she will drag the serpent to the finest tree in the garden, pose in front of it with the snake by her side, raise her Iphone and pouts then snaps a selfie of her and the snake.
Do I need to add that she will upload it on Facebook then tag Adam, the serpent and maybe one of her favourite animals. Above the picture she would caption it something like: "OMG, just met #Stubborn_troublesome_duperslekky_serpent. #starstruck. #gardenofEden.#haven_rebel". Or maybe something like: #teamSerpent_and_Eve. #Chilling_in_the_garden #team_trees_as_background_rocks.

That's by the way.

Of course, Adam will immediately ping her from wherever he was - maybe settling a quarrel between Lion and Rabbit or something, and warn her to stop hanging out with serpent. Like a typical niaja girl who always thinks her man makes such a request only when he is jealous, she will ping back: "Calm down boo, he's just a friend".
Then Adam, sharp naija guy who is waiting for God to create another woman so he would start cheating, will murmur something like: "Mumu, she thinks I'm jealous of that lepka serpent. The nigger looks gay sef".
Then he will ignore Eve and continue to settle the quarrel between lion and rabbit.

Sure thing, serpent go be ladies, man so the nigger will start with something like.
"Babe, nice weavon you have there sha".
And Eve will laugh like one mumu and go like:
"Actually, it's brazillian"
Sharply, the serpent will move closer, smile then say something like:
"Which cream do you use, I heard that the forbidden apple bleaches well, plus the effect is uniform sha, no coke leg and fanta face things"

Mumu Nigerian Eve, her eye will shine and she will be like:
"Is a lie!"
And snake will go like:
"Is a true. Just try it"

As a naija babe na, she must play hard to get. Then when the serpent starts ignoring her she will go on nairaland or sexlife in 9ja and post something like:

"Please admin hide my Id and tell me when you post, I need your advise, pals. There is this guy that is asking me to do something. I played hard to get and now he is ignoring me. What will I do. Mature comments only, insults are allowed"

Nigerian Adam go dey for one corner, read the post finish and comment something like: "Just passing" or maybe something like: "Brb, lemme ask amadioha" or maybe: "yeahhh, first to comment. Brb"

Finally, Eve will make amends with serpent and eat the apple then her eyes will shine and when Adam returns from work, she will look at his "you know now" and post something like this on sex life in 9ja.

"Please hide my ID. I love my husband but his 'you know now' is too small. What will I do, I don't want to leave him. Mature comments only"

Of course, Adam will recognise the half eaten forbidden fruit in Eve's hand when he sees her, because him sef don dey eye that tree since.

His eye will shine:

"Heeei! Eve, You don chop the apple"

And Eve, typical niaja woman who knows her powers, will be like:
"Adam, if you don't chop this apple I won't give you do this night"

Mumu nigerian Adam who likes 'Do' pass instruction wey dey give am will chop the apple then as an igbo man, start strategizing how he will start exporting them.

Then, they go come cash them and plan will scatter.

LiteratureLife And Death Of A Cultist... A True Life Story. by nonsonnamani(op): 12:43pm On Dec 07, 2013
NB: A female friend of mine told me this story. I think everybody should read it, those who should, should learn

HER STORY.

Growing up in the type of neighbourhood Ebuka did was probably what got him killed. Our neighbourhood was pretty rough, everywhere stank of poverty. The poverty was reflected in the way gutters, overflowing with black smelly water gushed into the path leading to someone's very doorsteps. Everyone lived in a one room apartment around here so no one stayed indoors that much - how could you, the old table-fans people used were so old that it ended up blowing hot air onto someone rather than blowing it off. The streets were always lively - unclad children chasing themselves around a pile of decaying rubbish close to their window. women pushing dirty b_reasts into their latest kid's mouth while another one who is barely one and half struggles for his own turn to suck from the same breast.

That was the kind of neighbourhood we lived in.

Everybody went to the old government schools somewhere across town but just few continued schooling after sitting for their first WAEC. Most always didn't make their first sitting.
When my widowed mother first found out my brother had started smoking weed, he was just in SS3. it wasn't much of a surprise though, in a street where sixteen year old girls already had an active sex life it was almost like my mother had been waiting for it to happen. In a way she thought my brother would never start doing weed; he was gentle, far too quiet even and usually kept to his own. What my mother didn't know was that he sold weed too. So when SARS, a special force police unit in Enugu, started looking for him - that was when my mother became shocked to her marrows. She loved the boy blindly, we were just two siblings - my brother and I. My brother was like her hope.
"He will fight your father's brothers for the injustice they did us when your father died." She always told me. Although she was just a petty trader, She had been saving for his University education.
"You brother will study medicine". She always said.
So when SARS showed up and he had to escape through a back window, my mother was hugely disappointed.
"So this is how you want to kill me!" She had screamed at him three weeks after he returned from hiding out in the village till the heat died down.
My brother, always never saying much, just apologised and left the house.
Soon we forgot it ever happened.
Till rumour started flying around in my street. I remembered hearing it first from my best friend, Ogechi (Talkative).
"I heard your brother is now a hit man for his cult".
Ogechi had a mad crush for my brother so she had made it her duty to always know anything and everything about him. I had quarrelled with her for two weeks after that.
We didn't believe the stories - my mother and I, Ebuka was too gentle for that.

Till one day...

There was this playing ground in front of our house, every sunday guys came there to play football. I remember doing laundries just in front of the door, my brother was playing football in the field. Occasionally I would look up to admire one of the boys I had a crush on who was also playing.
I guess I was the first to see them, about four boys slowly entered the field from different directions.
My brother and a few other boys on the field, who I guess were also in his fraternity, saw the boys and I noticed an expression of terror cross their faces, they had obviously recognised them.
Then I saw the boys who had just entered the field pull guns. People started running. My brother made to escape and ended up running into one of the boys - at this point I was screaming wildly. The first bullet caught him on his arm, he screamed - pushed the guy who had shot him and turned towards another direction. He took the next bullet in his legs. He screamed out in pain, tears were running down his face now. Blood gushed out from his wounds but he still managed to drag his body across the field, determined to escape.
Then the next bullet went straight to his head, exploding and scattering his brain around the play ground.
One of the guys just calmly walked up to him, and using an axe, butchered his head into pieces.

LiteratureHow My Ex Died... A True Life Story by nonsonnamani(op): 6:48am On Dec 02, 2013
The story you are about to read is inspired by real life events. A tribute to my ex, may her soul rest in peace. This is her story; the same way she would have written it and in her own words.

The story begins...

Hi. My name is Chinwe, I'm 21 and in three days time...I will be dead.

At least that's what the doctors say.

Alright; I will explain.

I have blood cancer; the monster normally comes in four stages - I'm presently in the last stage. Lol; don't worry praying for me - I won't survive it; Cancer doesn't have a cure...yet.
While I wait for death I decided to scribble my story on my old dirty diary; silly egg headed Czar, Lol; I know the sweet mumu will tell my story one day and I don't want him adding things that will embarrass me. So I have told him that whatever story he tells about me should come from my diary.
Alright enough of this long talk; let me begin my story.

I grew up in the slumps; like deep inside the slumps. You know, those kinda streets that had houses with windows that you can open to lend some other person in the next compound a packet of matches through his own window.
Between the windows ran an overflowing gutter that I had always suspected was linked to a 'suckerway' somewhere around.
Outside the windows my 'street guys', almost every evening, converge to smoke. So anytime we didn't have dinner we just had to make do with the think smell of indian hemp that filtered in through the window into our shabby one room apartment. The smell was so thick at times that I suspected we got as high as the guys smoking the real thing outside.

I'm talking too much story; back to me...

I remember the first time my blood cancer symptoms showed. I felt dizzy and got tired so often that my mum started looking at me suspiciously.
"I told you to stop seeing that Czar guy" she told me " if it turns out you are pregnant your father will have your neck".
Me - pregnant? I haven't even kissed the guy yet.
Alright, maybe twice...but there was no way I was pregnant. Not unless Angel Gabriel had showed up without me knowing. The thing was my mother had this phobia that I was going to get pregnant someday before I get married. She had every reason to be; our street was that 'babyish'. Like, tennagers getting pregnant two weeks after the first signs of developing boobs showed. Yeah, it was that bad. Sometimes I suspected that dropping a live cobra on my mother's laps will not cause as much hysteria as telling her I had been put in the family way. So when I saw my period that month, she heaved a sigh of relief and went to Ejiofor - the street's chemist who didn't even finish primary six and asked him to 'mix' some malaria drugs for me.
We all thought it was just malaria; till one day...

I collapsed...

The day I collapsed for the first time, my mum predictably rushed me to Ejiofor's shop. The chemist had a spare room behind his shop which doubled as both a consulting room and a ward, sort of.
Later I had been told he gave my unconscious body one long look and for once admitted the illness was above him. That scared the hell out of my mum; everyone knew how "brave" Ejiofor was around sick people - he rarely admitted anything was above him rather, he would always grab a syringe like some sort of ninja and pour in some liquid from the nearest bottle he could grab from the old rotting cupboard in the corner of his shop.
That evening, thanks to Papa Okey the cab driver who lived a compound away from ours, I was given a free ride to UNTH Enugu. The next morning I woke up to see my parents staring down at me with mournful looks like a judge had just announced I was going to be hanged.
Nothing ever rattled my father; so one look at his face and the first thought that came to my head was: What's that look for, who did a train run over?
What my mum did next was the most creepy thing I would ever witness in my life, lol, in my short life sha - I saw streams of tears run down her face and her shoulders shake with such uncontrollable emotions but still, no sound came from her.
You see, in my family, emotions embarrass the purgatory out of us - my mum could blush to the root of her hairs if anyone of us hugged her. Crying in front of me was a milestone you guys will never really understand.
Next, she threw the next shock wave - she hugged me. That was when I knew things were really serious.
"What's wrong?" I asked.
My mother looked at me; her eyes misting over and filled with a mixture of pity and heartache. She looked at my Father.
"Where are we going to get 10 million naira from?" She asked him.
"10 million, for what?" I asked, looking from my father to my mother and back to my Father.
Trust my father - Mr. Africa most blunt. He looked at me.
"You have to be flown abroad; you are dying. They say it's cancer. Blood cancer. The advanced stage. We hadn't noticed it on time".
There was pity in his eyes too but he was doing a good job hiding it.
At that moment, everything stopped then started spinning very fast.
I borrowed one of the nurses phone and called Czar at about 5pm that same day - cried for 1 hour 30 minutes with someone's airtime. I checked the time myself (Laffs). Czar just listened and I just cried - I had such huge dreams, I wanted to be a fashion designer. I wanted to take my parents away from the slumps. I had always been lost in thoughts sometimes, day dreaming how I was going to shock my parents into hugging me when I bought them a house.
Well, I got my wish - at least my mother had hugged me (Laffs). She had hugged me not because I had bought a house for her but because I was dying (Life can be ironical).

2 YEARS LATER.
CZAR's words...

Chinwe's last days would always be clear in my head; she died very painfully. I remember watching her gradual decline from a the very pretty girl I had fallen for to a frail skinny dying 21 year old. Her parents had never raised the money; they tried but they just couldn't raise it. I watched Chinwe, a day before she died, struggling for breath in a ward at UNTH. The management were getting irritated; it was either her parents fly her to india for treatment or took her home to die...They were that blunt.
That evening, a day before she died, I visited her at the hospital. She had looked at me then smiled weakly and threw one of her usual jokes.
"Czar darling". She told me. "No more boobs to stare at abi?".
My eyes misted.
"You know I have never stared at your boobs. Staring at your pretty face had never allowed me to take my gaze lower".
She laughed, her voice shaking from the effort.
"Yeah, Face watching is your hobby. Onye asi".
I went to her and held her hands.
Tears slowly started running down her face.
"I'm dying. You know, don't you?"
"You won't die". I told her. "You won't".
She smiled.
"Mr wash" she laughed weakly. "I will die, soon"
Tears ran down her face more as she continued...
"I want to die; my parents can't afford the chemotherapy and I'm being turn to pieces inside every single day. Each day I pray it would be my last day. I live in agony"...

I have to end the story here; sorry it is too abrupt. the memories are too painful. She gave me her dairy that day.

The next day she died...

RIP Chinwe Ewerobi... I don't really think any other girl can be like you to me - ever. Go well.

InvestmentWhy You Should Not Take "Your Passion" Into Business... by nonsonnamani(op): 5:16pm On Nov 21, 2013
Now, get ready...this would be the most unconventional business advise you will ever hear.
Passion is awesome when it is allowed to flare in the bedroom but bringing it into business ends in a disaster 8 out of every 10 cases. The cliché; turn your passion into a business has been so passed around that everybody now believes it. You hear stuffs like: "find your passion and what you are interested in and make money from it" - very dangerous advise.

I will tell you why

Now let's assume that your passion is the type that can be turned into a business; trust me, a lot of the things people have a passion for would make very terribly businesses.
But let's assume yours will make a good business - you jump into it burning with terribly hot passion? that's suicidal.
Now, this is why; business is not a game of passions, business is not a game of emotions. You don't open a business because you love it, it is not a love game - it is business, nothing personal. It is solely for making profits.

Now, slow down - I know you are shaking your head now and disagreeing with me.
There is nothing wrong with doing what you love but when you open a fish shop just because you love fish you will have that passion flying off the window the moment your first set of business wahala hits you.
Look at it this way; a lot of people say that the passion keeps you going - bullshit (Pardon that word). Passion blinds, when you do business solely on passion basis you only see the positive side of the venture you are going into (No matter what) and that's bad for business; you need to see everything - bad, good and the ugly. when you get hit by the first road block that passion go reduce so fast you sef go shock.
I have noticed, passion for a business is proportional to how successful it becomes. Brova and sister, a brova who hates driving will so love driving if it is making money for him.
What if people just don't need what you are passionate about. That's why you have to go into a business venture on the basis of how profitable it is rather than on how much you love the sector. Because you are passionate about it doesn't necessarily make it a good business idea. Because you love the idea so much does not mean people will pay for. There is no section in a business plan where you are supposed to write how passionate you are about the idea; investors know passion is not really that important or they would have asked you to squeeze it into the business plan. Business should be looked at without emotions - without passion, So if you jump into it just because you love it then breeze go carry you. I think the advise: "find a need and solve it" is more of a better business advise than "turn your passion into a business"...think about it.
InvestmentThe Power Of Business Expansion: Why You Shouldn't Run Your Business Yourself. by nonsonnamani(op): 10:27am On Nov 18, 2013
What makes a rich man different from a poor man is not how much either of them have in the bank, it is what lies in their head - their minds, how they think.
Now read carefully...

The difference between a rich man and a poor man's business is that the rich understands the power of expansion. There is a law in business; profits tends to increase exponentially from two (I won't bore you with maths - just stay with me).
What this law means is simple; 1 raise to the power of two is still one but when you raise two by the power of two it becomes four, four raise to power two becomes 16 - you get the drift?
The products started doubling after one.
Oya, let's bring this to real life situation: what it means is - if you own a business and you do everything yourself and don't intend to expand then you dey Bleep up (Pardon the F word).
Let me make it a bit clearer; Yes, rich men oversee their business interests but they don't run them themselves. In other words, a trader in main market who has three different shops in three different spots is more likely to rake in more money than another trader who has just one shop. Now, three shops can't be manned by one man so he has to put in a "Boyi" in the other shops he runs...hope you are getting the meaning of the title now?
Now let's swing away from "main market business" to the corporate kind of business; google about the rise of every successful business person you can imagine; from Carlos Slim to Aliko Dangote - they all knew the power of expansion and had it in their business plan from the onset. I'm not advising you should go into senseless expansion; just that you should have it in your plan. If you can get someone to do a job for you then do it, no one had ever made much impact in business by running a sole proprietorship. Mike Adenuga owns Globacom and ConOil, trust me he doesn't run it himself - if he did he won't be a rich man. My point is this; if your notion of running a business is just to open up something you will run by you and only you then you are not on the path to financial freedom, you will just end up working your ass off- ineffectively kwa o. Get it, Been busy doesn't really mean been effective. Rich men build business systems and not sole proprietorships.
Watch out for my new article: ESCAPE FROM SOLE PROPRITORSHIP AND BUILD BUSINESS SYSTEMS.
Have a nice day, may whatever you put your hands in be blessed. Have a great day.
InvestmentWhat It Means To Be Rich by nonsonnamani(op): 7:59pm On Nov 17, 2013
I will take this really slow; this article is going to be long and I don't want to bore you.
Ready?
Oya, let's go...
Most of us have a wrong notion of what been rich is, I used to have this same notion too...anybody who drives a big car and lives in a big house is rich.
Right?
Nah - wrong, at least not in all cases.
I want this article to change perspectives so read very carefully.
What you have does not make you rich, it is what you have that gets you other things you want that does.
Alright, let me break it down. Most people think in terms of spending, they always want to get a new jewery and buy new clothes. I make those mistakes too; I remember how I spent the first money I made from a business I ran - I had always wanted a DVD so I used the money I made to get a DVD and voom - the money went.
The way rich men think is quite different; they make money, use the profits to buy something else that will give them more money before they buy that 'toy' they want only when their investment can 'comfortably' get them the toy without feeling like it means much.
There is this man I know who has a chain of schools in Enugu. I remember when he first started his first school. He was making considerable money but he appeared stingy. We used to laugh at his kids then; he drove this old volkswagen and we all felt he could afford a better car, they lived in a funny looking house and at that time we felt he could get a better house. Growns up laughed at him too, everybody felt he was such a stingy man. The last time I heard of him he rides a bentley and lives in a big house. the growns up that laughed at him when we were little still lives in the same house they laughed at him from.
The thing is this: Poor minds think spending, rich minds think investing. We are all guilty, you work your ass off as a barman in a hotel and the next day after you get paid - you buy shirts and trousers and shoes. the money vanishes, we go back to working and the cycle starts all over again. Been rich is not how you are perceived, big cars is not riches - it is big investments that is. We buy clothes and look all "swagged up"...that doesn't mean you are rich. Have you ever seen people who people call "money miss road", they have properties and still drive that same old car...they are wise, they give up present gratification for future 'absolute' financial freedom. I'm not saying you should be miser just that whenever you want to spend that money next time ask yourself this:
1. Is it necessary for me to buy this or I'm I getting it just to influence the way I'm perceived by people.
2. Which is better; spend this and loose the money or invest it and get it back so I can 'spend comfortably' later.
Like my mentor, Robert Kiyosaki, will say - The best thing to spend your money on are Assets and not liabilities. Assets are what brings in money into your pocket after you have spent on it. On the other hand, Liabilities are what takes money out without returning money back.
Have a great day! Cheers!
Business To BusinessThe Principles Of Business by nonsonnamani(op): 4:13pm On Oct 09, 2013
I have read about 103 books on business and they seem to have an underlying re-occuring theme, so I summarized them and decided to share it with you guys ( winks, you know I can do anything for you people )

1. Concentrate On the interested; leave the rest.

I have ran about a couple of businesses and I had always gone against this rule till I recognised how wrong my moves were. We are so concerned about getting more customers and raking in more profits - very wrong; the right approach is concentrating on our already existing customers. The thing about customers is this: 7 out of every 10 people you talk to about a product will not pay for it anyway, 1 out of 10 will not be fully convinced to pay for it and just two out of the ten will actually pay up and get the product. So the logic behind this principle is treating those two right, make them satisfied and in the long run they will get the undecided "one" to get your product, because they won't be able to stop blabbing about how great you and your product are.

2. Don't always go for your passion; go for what people want.

You see, this noise about doing what you love doing and turn it into a business is kinda outdated. For instance, I have a friend who loves watching football and thinks he loves nothing more than that; sure enough, nobody will want him to watch football matches for them and then pay him. The thing about business is not "categorically" finding what you love and doing it, but rather; finding what people love terribly and giving it to them. Owners of conglomerates don't go for the "what I love" crap; check out Carlos Slim and Dangote. Carlos Slim owns a telecommunication company and he doesn't even like computers. The thing is this; if you really love business - that's enough, let your passion for business and the desire to make an impact that comes with it drive you.

3. GO for Better rather Cost effective.

The problem with most business men is we always want to cut costs, we always want a cost effective way of doing things - its cool. But the thing is this; in business when it comes to choosing between cost effective and doing a better but costly job; choose the later. The former has a way of turning sour in the end.

Jokes EtcA Day In Life Without Technology by nonsonnamani(op): 6:34pm On Sep 26, 2013
A day in life without technology would be quite similar to Genesis Chapter 1 verses 2 and I quote; "the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the surface of the earth". Really, I cringe at the thought of it. Waking up by 4:30am with your room plunged in darkness and wIth no hope that PHCN (power holding company of Nigeria) would restore power because nothing like PHCN exists and in turn, nothing like electricity exists too- now, that would be really horrendous. Let's assume on a day without technology, fire engulfs my house and I'm struck inside. There would be no way I would be able to call 911 and get the fire service over because a phone wouldn't exist and even if I managed to get a distress call across using some form of voodoo, there would be no way the fire service would get to me in time because a car would definitely not be in existence...now, that's really creepy. I sleep with my phone every night, almost cuddling it as I sleep because I have this addictive notion that I have to hear the beep sign of a Facebook notification the moment it comes in; that is how addicted I am to technology. Therefore, I wonder how it would feel having to get to the bank on a 'technology free' day. That would be a nightmare because, one; the queue would match River Niger in length due to the fact that an ATM wouldn't be anywhere around and two, I would have to wait as the tellers go through a mountain like written record of everybody on that line because there wouldn't be a computer to make the job faster. I cringe because on that 'Genesis chapter 'one-ish" day I would have to stay without internet connection; no Facebook, Twitter and no Google. No Samsung phones to play songs with, no Mp3 players either and definitely no television.. As I write this I grimace at the last part; no television? What this means is I have to rely on a town crier to get me news and I wouldn't have a single idea if the Syrian government had used a chemical weapon on it's citizen and if the United States were planing a military strike on the regime, how would a town crier know about that kind of news on a day without technology? Of course, there is the issue of having to undergo an operation feeling the full pain of the doctors' scissors tear through your skin because there wouldn't be anyway to dull the pains, then there wouldn't be antibiotics to prevent getting contaminated during such operations...again, that's creepy. The only good thing about staying on a day without technology is that a gun won't be in existence and so wars would have to be fought with sticks; no armoured cars, no missiles,no sword mining companies and no fighter jets...just sticks.
Still, a day without technology would be Armageddon and I pray I would be on a long journey far away from here when our technologies starts having raptures.
