CodeTemplar: At last everybody will be forced to accept the cash from APC vote buyers on election day. Lol. That's the thing. There's no cash. First all criminal politicians have their personal loot separate from Election funds. That's what they fall back to on rainy days so they don't use it for elections. They have to chose between saving their personal loot or the Election slush funds due to shortage of new Naira notes. That's why you see them running upandan. No money for Election. |

Officialgarri: Nigerians need to call on the sack of the evil man called Emiefele.
Many people might be foolish to buy the narrative that Emiefele is fighting corruption but it's actually your head that's being used to break Coconuts.
Ask yourself why Emiefele did not implement the new naira policy before the APC primaries. Why did he wait till he lost the election after he wasted lots of looted old money buying campaign buses?
Let's agree on the useless narrative that the new note policy was a fight against Tinubu, do you think someone of Tinubu's caliber will find it hard distributing his stash to his influential boys over the country to bring him new notes while you wallow away at the ATM stands from dawn till dusk?
Emiefele is basically on a revenge mission of "we all lose if I can't win" You're wasting your time. Buhari is in charge of this Naira redesign. If you can't protest against Buhari then forget it. |

And yet the same APC claim the President is not to blame but cabals and opposition. Family › Re: My Wife Takes More Instructions From My Mom Than Me by NothingDoMe: 12:36pm On Feb 07, 2023 |
destiny4luv: Good day Nairalanders.l; let me go straight to the point. I work off-shore so most of the times I am not always around, some times I can be at work for three months and be given one or two weeks time- off that's just the nature of my job.
But they is something troubling me seriously, when I give my wife instructions regarding anything at all she will first of all ask my Mom before she carries out the instruction I give her, that's if my Mom is in support of the instruction. Recently I gave her an instruction regarding a particular matter while I was on time-off, only for my wife to call me fee weeks later that she has carried out the instruction when the time I told her to carry out that instruction is not yet. I was so mad at her I asked her why can't she wait till the time I told her to do it; she said my Mom came over to the house and told her to do it so she did it. At that point I cut the call.
Later that day my Mom called me and was asking why I cut the call on my wife and refused to pick her call even why she was calling back, I told her she was the course, and she said how, and I told her why will I give my wife instruction and u will come to counter that instruction without the both of u letting me know not after the did has been done. My Mom was angry that can't she have say in my home, I told her to an extent not to the point of countering my instructions. She was very angry we both had some argument on the phone before I told her am late for work I want to cut and she hang up, she knows I was seriously angry with her. Since that day she hasn't called me and I haven't called her too.
My wife called me and apologized that it won't happen again. I forgive her and we both made amend. Now my Mom is not talking to me and my wife at the moment. Please what I did was it wrong or did I over reacted?
I love and respect my Mom likewise my wife, but I won't want her to control my home for me. Should I call her and apologize to her or just let her be till her mind comes down? Working offshore has its own challenges. Your wife cannot always call you concerning decisions because you're not always going to be reachable. She has to adapt to a certain level of decision making that includes change of plans without prior consultation. She might see it that it's better to execute the said instruction earlier. You didn't say if her decision caused any negative consequences so I assume it didn't. Since nobody died, I suggest you let it slide. |

Politics › Re: I'll Kill Obi And Nothing Will Happen by NothingDoMe: 9:23pm On Feb 06, 2023 |
BluntTheApostle: pandj, I am sorry, but you Obidients are delusional.
First of all, you said Obi used a convoy of 2 cars. That is a big lie.
A president or governor does not determine the size of his convoy.
Do you know why convoys (motorcades) are sometimes so large?
It is because some vehicles in the motorcade are actually empty, and are just a decoy.
If Obi manages to become president, the size of his motorcade would be determined by the DSS, and it would change depending on certain factors like security realities of the place being visited as typically gleaned from intelligence reports.
As a president, you cannot visit a war-torn zone in say Borno with a motorcade of two cars and a few policemen.
You people are really delusional believing Obi will come and everything will fall in place.
First of all, I support Asiwaju, and I am doing so because of his antecedents in Lagos state. I am not delusional into believing that he is coming to work wonders.
There is something I like about Tinubu, and that is the fact that he understands how a modern country works.
What I need from Tinubu is a refocusing of this country. If we get as many NASS seats for APC which then gives Tinubu a sort of proxy two third majority in the NASS, we can restructure the country.
So many things that you people think Obi will do are way beyond the power of a president to do.
Some of you think Obi will cut wastage in governance. He can only do that with the executive. Maybe you all should ask Buhari how far. Buhari went into Aso Rock brimming with confidence, believing that a president is some superman. He even reduced the presidential jet fleet to reduce the wastage associated with the era of GEJ. But was he able to reduce wastage in the NASS? Have you seen the allowances each lawmaker takes home every month? Forget about their basic salary. Check their allowances.
At a time, Buhari and Osinbajo even slashed their salaries. They begged the NASS to do the same? Did Bukola Saraki and the others listen? NO.
Now, that is just the NASS. We have the governors, who by federal political structure, are even more powerful than presidents.
Even if Obi decides to cut Aso Villa staff, and have his wife cook all the meals to save money, can he force the governors to cut their kitchen staff or reduce their feeding budget?
You people are expecting way too much from Obi. Nigeria is too big for Obi. And with the look of things, the NASS will be dominated by APC and PDP. Obi, as president, will be isolated in the centre. In Nigeria where our expensive bicameralism makes decision making slow, how will Obi achieve anything? Obi, who is especially weak, will be bullied in the centre, and end up becoming the worst thing that ever happened to Nigeria.
The only man who has got the guts and the political goodwill to make things right is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Modern country without modern hospitals in Lagos? Someone did well 20 years ago and is now senile, yet because he did well 8 years ago, he should be allowed to do well again, ignoring his current mental state? Someone who understands modern society yet pushed for Someone who understands nothing to be president for 8years? Nawao |

Goodlady: POS is not meant to exist if Nigeria's sane, right. But just as the writer said, Obi should be careful. But he's not careful. Rather, he's playing politics with it. He didn't speak in favour or against it early enough. That's not a sign of someone with the heart of the people. If you say there N2tr outside the economy. It's the result of corruption of ages which should be tackled by firstly reducing cost of governance. I recalled Obi mentioned it too in his campaign. But him coming to justify that govt is doing the right thing with the redesign is like he himself is reasoning like Buhari. Him also waiting for almost 2 weeks before expressing the plights of the people is like acting like Atiku, the wicked and the pretender. The only person that was proactive to speak and condemn was Tinubu. Whether its cos it affected him directly or not, he still spoke. I m not here to market him but he's tht only one that despite his campaigns that are filled with funny skits cos of his gaffes, he actually made sense about revamping agriculture, employing the youths and boosting the military. In all, I hope we all think critically to chose well. And Obi should be realistic and truthful with his campaigns. His lies are being noticed by the sane ones and I can't just do follow-follow. Tinubu made sense with his dementia? Nawao. |

Putindbutt: If bandits could display millions of naira of the new notes, what's stopping the politicians who owns most of the banks?. Do you think Peter Obi, for example, who is a shareholder in Fidelity bank with access to billions of naira, gives a hoot about you queuing under the sun?. I know that Obi supporters are kind of happy that the harsh policy would push people to anger to vote against APC but I can assure you that this events. if not checked would further encourage vote buying. How would someone who struggles to get as little as 2000 naira all week reject free 5000 - 7000 free cash on an election day? Let's reason together. The Bandits say they have the new notes yes? From where? And why release videos saying they have it? To fight for the people? You know that's not possible. Your guess is an good as mine. To discourage the FG and CBN. If Bandits also joined in the naira notes propaganda don't you think the FG is on the right path? Too much cash in circulation is a huge problem for any country. This move will also capture more Nigerians in the NIN database. Also you're right about the politicians hoarding the naira. Like you said, they'd release them on election day. Is there any need to print new notes when the politicians like Tinubu will release them soon? |
Politics › Re: Britain Ended Slavery by NothingDoMe: 2:11am On Feb 05, 2023 |
One of the mistakes many Africans who have been wired not to think deeply make. Britain ended slavery not because of some benevolence or love they had for Africans. They ended slavery to stop the outflow of strong human resources from Africa to the Americas, because they needed those strong human resources on the continent to work in farms and other sectors that produced cheap raw materials to British companies/industries. More like machines were made to do the job so no more need for slaves. |
