Brethren
In order to kill procrastination, I decided to select and book a date (17th of August) for my theory test...
Presently i do score 46/50 with the 4 in 1 app
So far 47 max however I do score 4/5 on the average on hazard perception but sometimes would score zero on the same hazard perception

Is there sth I have not understood or getting wrong
I get shocked and confused whenever this happens... I only use the 4 in 1 app (self study)

Elders and those who passed with the app
Abeg advise or recommend practice style/materials
Thank you

Then a frequent visit will be questionable. Once a year is not bad
Boss what do you consider as a frequent visit?
She's a Pensioner
Has just been granted visa presumably coz we just got a mail for collection.
Plan to stay for 5 months 2 weeks and return.
She's ever ready to visit at the most possible time even if its a week after. She's lonely and am her only daughter cool

Thanks for your input. Staying away for 6 months would affect my kids bcs they are not up to 4 years (primary school age)

What if she stays for 30days in her first visit, travels bk to Nigeria and spends 30 days in Nigeria, and then returns to the UK and spends the remaining 4 months, would visa renewal be a problem?
Why 30 days for the first visit
I guess you are mixing it up
She can stay a max of 6 months maybe 5 months 2 weeks to be on a safe side irrespective of how long you stated she would stay during your visa application.

First visit 5 months w weeks then goes back and re apply after a month or so
Hopefully returns.... since she's helping with the kids

Not sure there’s a way around this. Why is the tenancy not in your name?
My cousins and her husband Annual is more than 200k plus... they got the apartment of course no Landlord would decline such individual... this was after several attempts to secure an apartment with lots of turn down either insufficient guarantors to blablabla
Kept going for viewing no success

Then, we were curious to atleast have a home first irrespective of who's name or not

Elders
I stay in a shared apartment
Our daughters have been enrolled for reception in September
The sch has required we submit our council tax and tenancy agreement to complete registration.
We both got the same sch for our daughters and share same address.
How best do we go about this...
Thank you guys..

The tenancy agreement is not in our name but we pay the council taxes up to date

Congratulations in advance on the birth of your UK baby. However, your child cannot apply for ILR with your work visa. Your child would have been eligible for ILR if either you or your hubby has a settled status (ILR or Citizenship). Your baby can also apply with you if you are applying for ILR using your work visa. For now, your baby will be under your visa category which is skilled worker child dependent visa.

The hospital will give you some documents which you will use for the registration. You will need to register the baby at your local authority within a specified time. In Scotland, the registration needs to be done within 21 days of birth. If you are in England/Wales, it’s 42 days. The LA will issue two birth certificates for your baby - a long and short version.

You can then apply for baby’s first Nigeria passport using the birth certificate. I’d probably wait till baby is about 6 months old before embarking on that journey. Baby will need their own NIN before passport application.

I don’t know anything about the process for baby Visa and ILR so can’t help you with that bit.

Congratulations and hope everything goes well.
Honestly, I sympathise with whoever is not on this thread coz.... thank you for the info

No reminder, just a habit.

I don't really do 25%, 30% and even 70% thing, i spend and pay back
Boss... what do you mean? You spend and pay back instantly or you exhaust the limit then pay back...

I got monzo flex... chooses to pay in 3 installments in most cases besides I am almost at 45% of my limit...
Please advise @gurus

Download the HMRC app & create an account

Since it’s your only Job, you can view your past and upcoming payslips.

Payslip cannot be doctored
I once tried signing up via app at a point they asked for my last tax amount... so, I was stocked at that stage

Thanks elders...
I equally have a pending issue with the man before the preg saga surfaced.

Was paid completely (working hours) from December until February however in March i discovered was short paid with almost £630
I demanded for an explanation and insisted it was incorrect
They requested for my working hours, which I provided every single thing they needed
Later accepted they would resolve it perhaps it was an erorr from the account team and promised to have my complete money credited ASAP.

Just yesterday, they announced it was my tax that was deducted and i asked which type of tax... I told them its my first job besides I thought I should enjoy tax free for my first 12k as a care worker...
I Requested for my pay slip (which they have never given me before) and I have not gotten a clear response though they agreed to prepare all of it but I am scared they might just doctor it like inec

I thought I should add this too
Please elders I also need una advise... is it possible to double check if I was truly taxed? Via pay slip or are there means to verify this claim.

Thanks for all the efforts and input

I believe Koonbey is spot on. Thanks 👍🏽
For now, just play along, move with the flow, while doing the needful: record electronically and keeping a journal record. If, careful not to say when, the time comes, you'll need the recordings and journal.
You wrote ... he said that he doesn't want to involve the home office
Make e go that route, and let's see who for score own goal.
You wrote ... He said ... That we should seat to discuss and negotiate way forward. (I don't know what he wants to propose)
Follow the conciliatory route but watch your back fully guarded even more than Eph 6 indicated. If you don't and matter gets to ACAS or employment Tribunal, you'll be portrayed as adversarial

However, with all of this, though you've got labour law back, I'll still say, now that you have YouKay experience, it's time to explore other sponsorship. Not because of your MD, but for your sanity, wellbeing, family and the baby.

[UPDATED]
Regarding recording, generally recording is not permissible, yet not totally illegal! However, in the instant where you're an affected person, not just interested person, like in this instance, you are 'entitled' for your protection. Should you share it with others, even inadvertently, outside of legal process, well, be ready for the consequences.
NB: YouKay has several (different) laws that touches on recording! Navigating them is a landmine on its own. Just move on the basis of all-parties consent when wanting to record generally. For person safety/protection, pls do within the limitation that you have a duty of care to safeguard the recording reaching third-party (even spouse!!)
You can read a bit more online, starting with this one
This is so detailed
Thank you so much...
I am working on this...
Appreciate your input...

Zahra29:
Pregnant women are universally entitled to free NHS prescriptions and free dental care/checks during pregnancy and up to 1 yr post partum. Depending on your working history, you might also be entitled to receive statutory maternity pay or maternity allowance.
Anything else is likely means tested i.e. benefits/ public funds.
Thank you

Congratulations on your pregnancy.

Do you have a written contract of employment? What is your company policy regarding notifying your employer when pregnant, maternity leave etc

As others have stated, it would be against the law to dismiss you or discriminate against you on the basis of your pregnancy. It is your human right to choose to get pregnant and to continue the pregnancy, and you do not require your employer to give his permission or blessing.

However, regarding the bolded - paying fees in direct exchange for a job is illegal. Your employer is probably confident that your options are limited as a result, and assumes that you would not be able to take any legal action against him. .

Speak to citizens advice - they should be able to give you free and confidential legal advice, but ensure you disclose the full facts.
Thank you
The contract did not mention anything about this moreover officially there lots of terms in the contract that the company does not keep/honour...
Thanks once again

I normally don't mention preggy until after 5 months or really showing so I don't understand why rush to say this especially at 5 weeks .

That been said.... what he doing is actually discrimination but to provide am is another thing . He can quickly sack you and use another reason so thread carefully.

I don't think it's right to record someone without their permission
Yes, i planned to inform him much later but then some colleagues kept advising its high time I inform him however with this reaction of his...what do you think would have been his reaction at a much later stagehuh
Infact he was even ranting about my colleagues keeping mute that none of them reported me...

Thanks for your input

Record your conversations with this person and keep them.

What he's doing is illegal. There's absolutely nothing for him to report you to HO about.

That being said, he has control over your shifts and could deny you shifts, which would be illegal, but difficult to prove. If I were you, I'd try the conciliatory approach just because that's always better, but keep it in your mind that you might need to explore 'legal steps', hence the recordings.

Someone has sent a link to a resource you should find useful if it comes to that.
I appreciate your response
Thank you

Elders of Nairaland UK Branch
Long story short
Naso dem say its better to convert from tier4 to 2
We did the needful as usual via care support work and of course not free.

Started work in December, was given sponsorship in Jan after a month, applied in Feb ending and got our brp.

Brethren I discovered oga Don score goal, we didn't plan for it, from calculations na that time way it snowed heavily and and and and...

We are 5weeks preg, informed MD my fellow naija but instead got threatened that sponsorship will be withdrawn because we concealed the preg to collect COS.
We should have halt the COS processing.
Is this how it works here?

I still do not understand, I should have aborted? coz of work? Or the law restricts me from taking in. He said, he will speak to his lawyer and that he doesn't want to involve the home office (home office sabi I am married nah, dem get our data) that do we know what it means if he involves them?
That we should seat to discuss and negotiate way forward. (I don't know what he wants to propose)
I even accepted to forfeit maternity pay (though he no dey pay self) and the rest of it infact I am still willing, eager and strong enough to continue working until about 8th month or even more...he now wants to cancel my shifts... this Ukay way bills yakpa...

Great elders abeg make una choke mouth for the matter, what una advise make I do also I hearsay gomenti dey give palliatives for preg women for some months...how do I go about it or is it one of the public fund? I no wan hear pim when it's time for ILR

Una thank you in advance
