Noneroone: stupid old incoherent punk! So many negative values compressed in one thing called a man. you're a silly, sassy, naughty, uncouth brat and it reflects poorly on your much touted experience that you know not what the power sector encompasses. with just small interaction, your unstable senses oscillated between anger on an invention and IPOB. I assure you it wouldn't take more than a simple medical examination to give you your rightful place in a psychiatric ward because typing a long senseless junk just like you do requires some abnormal inspirations which sane humans like us don't possess. It is clearly exhausting trying to converse with an unhinged social misfit who has been elevated to the status of 'the responsible' by cyberspace freedom. Perish with your ignorance!
Sounds like u want to cry. I wonder how many hours u spent composing this shit and still looking stupid. Lol. Like I said hang yaself if u arent happy. IPOB goat.
Noneroone: of course it's very easy to see the motivation behind your hatred of the young man's invention. obviously cos of his ethnic background. A project that attracted the interest of a professor and lecturers is what you are hating just cos you have access to the internet. If those on whose theories and laws you based to declare this project 100% impossible were alive they would seek the young man to understand his principles. This is where inventors are better than ordinary assholes. Assholes go to school and become imprisoned by the things the learnt while inventors think and evolve their environment. He is better than you and you can't do anything about it except to kill yourself and life goes on.
You see what I said. You have quickly assumed u know my ethnic group or my ethnic bias because u are nothing but another daft IPOB fvck. I see u have quickly abandoned the power sector line u were trying to push. So u agree u just jumped into the thread like a gorilla without thinking.
A professor was also the person that approved a project where a unilag student proved homosexuality is wrong by using magnets. We all know what happened in the end. Lol. Another lecturer from Maiduguri recently claimed he won an international award and it turned out it was false. Your resort to appeal to authority shows you are not a smart person. Typical IPOB member. The lowest common denominator.
If u think he is better than u, I understand. For someone like u who hasn't built anything of note or helped in creating any equipment or tool a lot of people have used, this news is great achievement. Unfortunately 5 years time we won't still see anything come out of this project and goats like u will say he is being hated on because he is Igbo so government doesn't want to help him and also call people like me efulefu.
I don't blame u. You can't think higher than your mental capacity. So I understand your frustrations. Keep being frustrated. It won't stop us from saying this project still leaves a lot to be desired. You can choke yourself on some of that generator water. Lol
Noneroone: You work with GE and Siemens IN NIGERIA and still claim you have nothing to do with "Nigerian power sector". Work on your reasoning first before disgracing yourself.
I just checked your profile. You are an IPOB supporter. One of those goats that have lost their abilities to reason and will lash out like a rabid dog instead of thinking and using strategy. I am not surprised.
I work with private companies and their power supply and nothing concerns me with your personal frustrations. So kill yaself if it hurts so much. LMAO. U succeeded in looking more stupid than before. I will be expecting to say another stupid shit next. Please don't disappoint me.
If it was someone else he died with now, Nigerians would have called it juju. People die everyday. And with the help of social media we can now hear more news about people dying and in different unusual circumstances that we haven't been hearing about before.
lwisee: Why are so full of yourself.People like you graduate with pass because your mind is not open to learn.Like I said, the guy will not give you the full detail because it's his research work.
Lol. Another clown. I graduated a long time ago and I didn't graduate with pass. I am sure u did that's why it came to your mind quickly. Sorry some people are not losers like u. Stop trying to connect me with yourself.
Secondly, I don't need to encourage shit. He has asslickers like u already. He doesn't need me. I just need to tell him truth and scrutinize his work. If he doesn't want to be scrutinized then he is not ready to be an inventor yet. All he is now is a local champion buoyed by the praises of halfwits like u. I have nothing to say to u that I haven't said to people smarter than u on this thread. If u can explain it to me without making a monkey of yourself I will be willing to listen. Till then u are just another distraction on this thread.
Why will he not give the full detail? There is something called peer-review in science that all claims need to be subjected to. I can bet my balls that he is hiding something. There have been people with similar fantasmic ideas in the past. Where are they today? Where is that guy that claimed to cure HIV? What of the professor that claim he invented what seemed like a perpetual motion machine about 10 years ago? I can bet that guy is hiding the inner workings of that machine because it is dubious. This whole shit just reminds me of Theranos and their scandal. I am sure asslickers like u where supporting Theranos then too. We know how LIDAR works. We know how microprocessors work. We know how quantum computers work. Any system whose workings cannot be explained is clearly dubious. Something is powering that machine in that video and it is definitely not the battery we can see outside. There is probably another power source inside. Unfortunately the guys that interviewed him where not there for a peer review but for news content to post. If they were smart and out to verify the authenticity of the technology, they would have asked the guy to run the system for 6 hours straight without the battery and with the water and see if it really works and if the water gets depleted in proportion to the time they kept the system running.
Nigerians have a stupid culture of asslicking where they think everything should be praised and genuine criticism is seen as hate. No wonder they celebrate mediocrity.
Arguing with illiterates sometimes can be very annoying and unending.
Even the comment for which he tagged me (and you) is as stupid as it comes.
Using dc pump to turn a blade mounted on a shaft and the other end of the shaft with coil now rotates inside a magnetic field thereby generating electricity in accordance with electromagnetic induction. He didn't state it this way, but this is what he is trying to say that is taking him almost 1000 words to explain.
But the truth is that only a fool will even think of something as useless as that when the dc can be easily converted to ac directly using inverters that are readily available in the market. The energy loss in that crap will be more than 95%.
Besides, that is not even the principle according to the "inventor".
Lol. Guy at times like this we have to stand our ground and educate these morons. Not because of their own sake per se, people like Valenu cannot be helped. His stupidity is congenital. We should do this because of other smart young people that will come here and read this discussion. So they don't get confused by bad science of people with obviously poor education and the praises of ignorant asslickers.
Anyone thinking the government or any investor worth his salt will invest in this nonsense is an idiot and hasn't worked anywhere of value before so he doesn't know the kind of scrutiny that comes with investments.
abbyode: This is what the guy did. He uses the battery to power a DC pump which in turn generates water pressure which eventually rotates the turbine inside the enclosure. The turbine, of course, is connected to an alternator which eventually generates electricity through faraday's law of electromagnetic induction (Not new). Part of the generated current is fed back to both power the DC pump and also recharge the battery. From the video, you will see that the battery can be disconnected once the system starts generating electricity. What the brilliant dude has done is to create a mini hydro plant. However, In a typical hydro plant, the free fall of water (Gravity) is what turns the turbine. In this case, Nelson is using water pressure generated using the DC pump to turn the turbine (@860 rpm) inside the enclosure. This is his innovation. The design of a steam turbine is definitely different from the design of a turbine that will be driven by pressure generated by the free fall of water which is typical in a normal hydro plant as I explained earlier. Nelson's invention is the design of the turbine that uses water pressure generated by the DC pump to run. That is where his creativity is. That is where is innovation is. Remember, he did not buy the turbine from china from what I gathered. He used commonly found objects around him to build this turbine. Further information also revealed that the smart dude refused to open the enclosure for anybody. This is because that's where his invention or innovation is. For the thermodynamic folks, he did not create a perpetual motion machine. According to him, a full tank of water in his machine will work for maximum of 6 hours after which the water would have to be refilled again. The system is rated 1KVA. The guy has done creditably well and should be appreciated especially if you consider his level of exposure and education. He should be encouraged and professionals and investors should rally round him to take the project to the next level. God bless him and God bless Nigeria.
Hi. The only reason I am quoting u is because there is an halfwit on this thread called Valenu that keeps fouling my mentions and that of Simplyleo with his mental handicap.
You seem like a smart person so I will engage with a bit more patience than I have for that guy. I can't abide buffoons. What you have just described is a hydro plant and there is nothing innovative about it worth any investors attention. I will tell u why.
That system you just described is one of the most inefficient systems anyone can come up with. Except if it is not working the way u have described it. You said the guy uses a DC pump to generate a water pressure to rotate the stuff at 860rpm. You do realise that if the system has an output power of 1KVA, essentially that requires the pump to have an output higher than that right? And invariably means that the battery power should be more than that. That means that battery should be close to a 2KVA battery. And the DC pump should be greater than a 1KVA pump.
Secondly, if the system is using a DC pump, we can't call the system a water-powered generator like he has done, can we? It is now essentially a battery powered generator. And it will have been a lot smarter to just use a DC motor to drive the turbine directly instead of adding the extra step of water and giving room for more energy losses. Or even just even use an inverter to convert the DC to AC directly. The system is more inefficient this way he has done it. Using the "water-powered" as a buzzword is duplicitous at best since they are still pumping the water after the fact.
Thirdly, there are lot of inconsistencies in your analysis. You are saying that the guy disconnects the battery after he gets the system going. If this is true then where does the DC pump keep getting power? Because as long as there is no prime mover, the system will grind to a halt. Unless the laws of thermodynamics no longer apply. And if u claim the water is what keeps powering the system thereafter then it means the battery wasn't needed in the first place and we come back to a normal hydro plant.
I will be interested in how you resolve this conundrum.
By the way, if someone is hiding how his technology works, it doesn't always mean that it works right. Usually, especially in Nigeria, it means the technology is a dud and the person has a lot to hide.
valenu: @Simplyleo , @NPComplete and your likes, Please come and learn. This is an intelligent guy talking. You humble yourself and learn from persons like this, not relying on your secondary school physics abi elementary science to conclude about a scientific application you know nothing about. How can you just conclud it's not possible like you are the god of sciences? I pity your type. I too know dey dissapoint well well. You better learn to be humble and quiet.
This dumb guy and the moronic shit he keeps tagging me to. What is innovative about that? I hate arguing with buffoons who don't know when to stop. What the person u quoted, who has more brain that u, just described is an hydro plant. Nothing more, Nothing less. But it is even less efficient than an hydro plant. And I will reply him so u know what kind of nincompoop u have been on this thread.
chrisagyei: maybe you need to go and sleep cos you have so far not said anything different from what I said.I didn't ask you for history lesson cos I know more than you can ever think of.Steve Jobs made Apple what it is now and history will never recognize someone like wosniak. Steve Jobs is the master inventor and creator and the day he left,Apple was almost collapsed and nearing bankruptcy. And you have not disprove my point that he had no training in engineering cos the fact that some of his adopted family members were into engineering does not give him a training certificate or expert in engineering. He was a genius which is simply as that.I see you want to sweep your ignorance under the carpet and call it a day buh you see,the whole world must witness your ignorance. See who's talking about running away from the topic. Are you done challenging if Jobs invented the mouse or the IPHONE 5 and to show you top scientists who doubted and mocked Thomas Edison cos I have given you facts.Galileo was brought in to tell you how society undermines your discoveries which are proven very helpful and factual later when it bears fruits and you're here giving a learnered person like me unnecessary lectures of people who talked about the earth being round already. Or you want me to show you evidence of top scientists who believed the earth was flat too and challenged Galileo. How many times do I have to feed your empty buh lousy brain with facts.Come back for more cos I have just started force feeding that thick skulled brain of yours. If you're sensible you notice how I mostly use the word "facts"instead of "truth".Maybe you're too dumb to realize. They're not interchangeable and that's just a side note. Now slowly chew and digest the facts I have stated above and read more. You will need it,trust me cos you spew nonsense.Take it as an advise.
Lol clown. I have punctured holes into your nonsense and now that u have run out of ideas u decided to double down on the nonsense. Jobs neither invented the mouse nor the iPhone. He just used technology of the day to achieve his aim. Sleep on that.
chrisagyei: you see your shallow thinking I was talking about.Steve Jobs had no engineering certificate or training but he was attributed with all the inventions cos he was a genius. wosniak was just an engineer who lacked the foresight and common sense to do anything for himself. Do you know the number of times that so called professors and scientists have taken or stolen basic inventions from their students or others, improved on it and the world naming it as their creations. Legacy means his last major invention which indeed was a legacy. Know basic english and read about it. And why didn't you address the mouse inventions and top scientists mocking and doubting Thomas Edison bulb invention. Now you see facts.Even Galileo who invented the telescope was arrested for stating that the world or earth was round instead of the so called world scientists and leaders who said the earth was flat and the sun moved around the earth instead of the earth evolving around the sun.Theories are meant to be proven wrong. And I read more than you can ever think of.
Guy go sleep u have no idea what u are talking about. And stop shifting the goal post. Who is talking about stealing technology here? You don't know what to say again and u are now rambling.
Like I said, Wozniak was the engineering mind at Apple not Jobs. Jobs was more popular because of his showmanship. Wozniak mainly avoided publicity. Wozniak was the tech whiz. And saying Jobs had no training shows u know nothing. Jobs grew up with an engineering family and lived among some of the best engineers of the day. At a young age he started working at Hewlett-Packard and he definitely learned a lot from there. Guy like I said, go and sleep.
Now he is bringing in Galileo. Lol. This guy is so ignorant. Scientists in Galileo's time knew the earth wasn't flat and our solar system wasn't geocentric. Copernicus even proved that the solar system was heliocentric long before Galileo. The Greek philosophers knew that the earth wasn't flat since the time of Euclid and Pythagoras. They were even able to calculate the radius of the earth to varying degrees of accuracy. So what are u talking about? Lol. It was the church that was against Galileo. Not scientists. You don't even know anything.
Guy stop talking. If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging. The more u talk the more u expose your ignorance and make me mock u the more.
chrisagyei: I don't know the level of dumbness or ignorance in you that makes you charge at a lion with a stick cos he used your sweet little family as dinner. It makes you look foolish.Do you know me from anywhere to attack me all of a sudden or all the 5 matured people that liked my comment. I don't personally know what you're harboring in you buh trust me it's very toxic and may kill you one day.I spoke about facts cos I am a deep reader of facts.I will answer you with screenshots of facts not from me.And as I told you Steve Jobs was not a scientist buh a genius. He was 1000 years ahead of a normal IQ of an individual. Nothing is new under the sun so he reinvented the wheel and took credit for it cos he was a genius who used common sense.
Is legacy the same as invention or are u that slow that words don't have meaning anymore? Do u know how many things had to be invented by different people before the iPhone could be built. Even Steve Jobs will be rolling in his grave at your ignorance.
It is even well known that Steve Wozniak was the engineering mind in the early days at Apple and not Steve Jobs. LMAO. Like I said u know nothing about Engineering or Jobs or Edison. Stick to what u know. Edison didn't invent the light bulb either. Random sites on the internet should not be your source man. Lol
The guy even posted a picture that clearly shows Steve Jobs stole the mouse concept from Xerox and is using that as his point. Lol. Nairaland!!!
Calling yourself a lion is a bit tacky, isn't it? Sounds like u are overcompensating for something.
ThankYouGod: With all this your knowledge, what have you created? Typical Nigerian graduate, full of theories.
And how do u know he hasn't invented anything. Perhaps he was wise enough to realise that his invention is not the best option to consumers and he decided not to publicize it and promote himself falsely. How do you know he is a Nigerian graduate with theories and haven't build a power generator as a mini project before?
Dude we can't all be dumb asslickers that lap up any shit someone throws out. Since you are contented being one, do so. Just don't ask others to be like you. Some others actually have critical thinking skills.
nextstep: So If I understand this correctly, rather than use the energy from the battery directly, it's used to 1. boil water 2. turn a turbine 3. finally use electromagnetism to generate electricity.
Incurring losses in each stage? Why not just use the batteries directly or even an inverter to minimize loss?
At the risk of sounding like a hater, it's a cool exercise (university experiment), but not really practical or inventive...
Correct me if I'm wrong, pls.
All but the last part is true. Heat is produced from the battery. That heat does useful work in turning the turbine, and that's it - the energy has been transferred. You need to put more heat (from the battery), to continue. The generated power can power the device for a short time, but at diminishing returns.
Think of bouncing a ball: if you smack the ball down each time it rises (supply energy with your hand), the ball will bounce back to a certain height. If you stop adding energy, the ball will bounce with smaller and smaller height until it dwindles and stops, because energy is lost in each bounce - some is lost to the ground, some is used to push the ball back, some is lost to compression of the ball when it hits the ground, some is lost in the sound that you hear. It's in the same way energy is lost in each turn of the turbine and cannot self sustain.
This is a smart dude right here. Don't waste your time on that Valenu clown though. The questions u have raised are beyond him. Too much information for his parochial mind to process. They are calling it an invention whereas what u just described is a steam turbine. Except that this guy added more step and thus made the system even less efficient. Lol
chrisagyei: that's why you can never be an inventor. You dwell on written and and already made theories. You are a useless neysayer who is depressed, limited and inferior to your reading of some useless books.Do you know the number of times that so called learnered scientists talked down on Thomas Edison and other notable inventors.Steve Jobs was not a scientist buh a genius who used common sense to invent the mouse, and other notable inventions and the scientists who called themselves experts all worked for him according to instructions. His last major invention the IPHONE 5 was made and brought to him for review by his team and it was bulky and a little heavier. He simply dipped the phone into a bowl of water and there were bubbles springing out of it.He instructed them that this means there was too much space in it so they should remake it and by all tech companies who first thought it as impossible now make slimmer devices. Now the Apple mac book pro laptop is as flat and slim as a paper. So shut up.
So much nonsense in one post. I am even surprised Simplyleo is dignifying u with a response. You know nothing about history or what u are talking about. You know nothing about Edison or Jobs. You are just spouting shit and exposing your ignorance. Steve Jobs didn't invent the mouse, u liar. A simple Google will have cured your ignorance. The 5 morons that liked your post are just like u and helping perpetuate ignorance.
Lol. This clown is saying that Jobs invented iPhone 5. Dude u are hopeless. Educate yourself about how engineering works before spouting drivel. You are just sharing myths as facts. And while u are at it, provide evidence of the scientists the talked down on Edison.
Just imagine the Dunning-Kruger effect in full display on this thread. No wonder u guys celebrate shitty looking vehicles some clown cobbled together while 10 year olds in China are coupling computers together. Clown.
valenu: True! Oversabi too full here. They won't even read to the last line and start typing trash. They didn't even watch the video before commenting. Most of them are using the facebook free data to browse, they can't even buy data to watch YouTube videos but they'll be talking like they know all. People of their type will not do and will not allow who wants to do to carry on. Nigerians, the enemy of Nigeria.
You are obviously an imbëcile. It takes a lot of effort to be as gullible as u. Most of the guys countering the claims on this thread actually have experience in the field and work with companies that manufactures actual turbines that your country uses. What do u know about engineering.
Your only retort is that "nothing is impossible is u believe" lol. Clown. Go and jump from a skyscraper without parachutes if u really believe.
Nairaland is filled with educated illiterates. **Spits**
valenu: What do you know that you want to teach? You are entitled to your opinion.
Ask and I will teach. You are obviously very ignorant. I thought u will counter with a better explanation instead u are holding on to the initial appeal to authority of the other guy. Clown. Read and learn.
Dottore: That's the problem with all you over sabi people in Nairaland. Did you watch the video and did you here the professor of Physics comment and that of EE Engineering lecurer. Na wao
Lol. Problem with clowns like u is that any opinion that u don't understand is oversabi. First, because a person is a lecturer doesn't make him the smartest person in the world. Secondly I watched the video and the explanation they gave is rudimentary at best and laughable. Thirdly I am sure none of them have critically assessed how that system works.
I am telling u this and u can't take it to the bank. That contraption is not even marketable or as profitable as the alternative. If you don't know as questions, I will teach u.
wilfrik200: You are right but what struck me is the idea of charging the battery with the output power from the cylinder which would have to be converted to DC. there will be loses along the line due to heat, friction and so on, How this adds up is what i am trying to figure out.
However, I applaud the gentleman for this and I hope the design can be picked up and analysed mathematically to ensure it is sustainable and realistic.
It won't add up. The all he will just be doing is giving back a small fraction and it won't contribute to anything much. Either the guy is duplicitous or he doesn't really understand what he did.
AdemolaA2: Waoooooh .. you know a lot about physical science and you are still yet to invent anything ... smh .. someone has invented one and you’re here countering the dude .. channels tv couldn’t have been wrong on this one . Don’t you think so?
Keep quiet. How do u know he is yet to invent anything? What he told u is the absolute truth. So shut up and learn from people more knowledgeable than u. It's not everytime u expose your ignorance because u want to encourage an "invention".
Obviously for the gullible ones who know next to nothing about energy. Someone up there is already talking about govt turning blind eye, lol. As expected.
The only way water can generate electricity is through dam or any waterfall where it hits a turbine blade thereby turning it and ultimately converting potential energy to electrical energy. Or water being forced to drive a turbine as in gas stations. But in this case, the energy forcing the water must come from somewhere.
But for a portable generator running on water as fuel, 100% impossible.
Pls if you know nothing about physical sciences, just hold your peace, don't bother quoting me.
The first man to make such scientific breakthrough of creating energy out of nothing will be a multibillionair in few weeks.
Gullible people with low intelligence will come and attack u and attack the Nigerian government now.
Nigerians sha. They won't have said 2 things it is always about putting someone out of business. Lol
One thing any engineer worth his onions knows is that the battery is what is driving the whole thing. The power generated will always be less than the battery capacity. So this project, though innovative, is not entirely spectacular.
What the guy just did is devise a means to convert the DC power of the battery to AC power that can power an AC light bulb. We also cannot be certain about the accuracy of the frequency of the AC power.
Nice project. But it's not running anyone out of business anytime soon.
Anas09: Lolzzzzz. I shd leave demons out od it but I shd give you proof of the lame I saw walked. Wow, NPComplete.
I don't proof anything to satan your master, who are you to demand proof from me?
Don't worry, one if these days you shall stand before your Maker and you'd remember this thread.
Yeah one of the days u will be jerking off the devil and remember this thread.
You can't prove anything but u mentioned me 4 times while pouring spit all over the thread and masturbäting to the thoughts of people being damned eternally lol. What was the point of all that anyway since u don't have proof? Oh I remember u are starved of attention so u just wanted to register your sadistic presence on this thread. Lol. I have noticed u. Now run along.
