Abi, shey there is no possibility that your pho calculated your remaining time base on your usage over time.
Make una dey consider these tins biko.
Don't wanna get caught in y'all cross fires. Bye My phone has more power than that of J8 and as you can see from the picture I posted. Data is ON 3G and also hotspot is ON . And note that Music doesn't consume battery in a phone. What consumes battery are 1. 3G network, WI-FI or hotspot 2. Call 3. Video 4. Game Anything that keeps the phone screen ON |

Gerrout of my thread Sir/ma/Prof/Dr Op you see your life? Always say the truth and shame the devil Your data is off, WiFi is off and power saving is ON. And your battery is at 59% and you only have 6hrs 45m power left and you put up all those hip on the battery Check mine and see the real deal. Indeed EMPTY Cartoon make the loudest noise keep it up. Edited Yes people after I posted the battery graph of the phone am using, a lot of people started asking me what's the make. Now lot of people believe that my phone has a good battery. But the truth is that I still believe that there are other phones out there that has better battery than mine, I can't tell you here that mine battery is the best lasting battery in its category like what the OP said. That is what is called being transparency and being honest. I gave TECNO the credit they deserve, TECNO BOOM J8 is beautiful, no doubt about that and even more beautiful than the so called Phantom 5 but it doesn't what the price tag. About the phone am using, there's Igbo proverb that says "Ahia Di Ma Na Ele Onwe Ya" English meaning "Good product sell itself" It's only when a company manufacture a failed product and hike the price that they will hire tout to be chasing people around with cutlass and guns to buy the product. If you buy phone from reputable brand, there will always be certain with their specifications, they don't need to hire touts to flood internet forum and lay false information about their products. In summary: Am always transparent and if I should tell you the model of my phone, it will look as if am trying to market the companies product am using thereby painting TECNO black. Don't let touts sweet mouth you and deceive you with their false information about their products. Thanks.

BustScam: I have read a lot of things that bloggers and non bloggers alike have written on NairaLand, and I have decided to painstakingly write an honest review of the mobile phone.
I will be writing based on the phone's adaptability to the common man's needs while looking at the important functions for techies likewise.
DISPLAY
The phone is reported to slim and easy to handle. Although this is an advantage in terms of being poise, Porsche and easy to pose with, it can be disadvantage because pick-pockets can remove it from your pocket easily. But, really who cares about pick pockets when you can easily keep your phone safely.
The phone’s beauty is one that deserves commendation, although I have the gold color of the phone, I can’t but say that this is a masterpiece in terms of design. I personally have met two people who taught I bought the phone for a 100,000 plus because of the stylist design.
Opening the phone, the graphical display of the phone is one that is commendable for a mid-range phone. Clear, crisp and well optimized for viewing.
PERFORMANCE
For me, the HiOS which Tecno have put on this phone surely is the joker for this device. The UI is designed to make the performance of the phone faster and less battery consuming (UI means User Interface).
After a couple of days usage of this phone, I have discovered that the phone last longer than all 3000mAH battery phones I know of and from my research, the reason is because of the HiOS on the phone. While battery last very long, it is worthy of note that the UI being new, some people may not know how to operate the phone.
To test the battery of the phone, I charged with a “generator” over night to 100% and usage was throughout the day since it’s my primary phone, the battery dropped to 30% after the close of work by 8:30pm (Although I must highlight that the heavy internet usage was on Wi-Fi. Also, I tested the gaming ability of the phone, believe you me, I am impressed. Don’t mind me, I am fan of tennis and motor racing so I played only the Asphalt 8 and the Tennis 2016 on the device and it was lag free and no issue whatsoever. The display was wonderful.
Also, the phone comes with a 2G RAM which coupled with the HiOS makes the phone ultra fast. The phone also comes with a 13MP rear Camera which has an opening speed of 0.3 seconds! That is what I call the cheetah speed. Although I don’t want to talk much about the speed of the camera but I have a personal experience yesterday in Church, Ruggedman came around to my church and it was the rush for selfies and it was my own phone that saved the day for me…He did not have enough time to stay that even while he was moving, I took my selfie with him and it was clear.
Let me also make it clear that the phone comes with the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.
Finally on the performance of the phone, I want to talk about some features I think we can all use to our advantage! “If you ever leave your phone with your siblings like I most times do, you can monitor if they use your data that day or not”, “If you always wait till 12am to send a special one a message for their birthday, wedding anniversary and all sorts”, “if you always receive annoying calls and messages from these stupid networks when you think it is an important call”, “ if you are looking for your best bet to saving money on data:, this feature on this phone is your best bet.
The Hi Manager - This application, although I don’t know who gave Tecno this sense is superb. It can monitor data, it can clean up my ROM and RAM with one button even junk files, it has also helped me block 4 of all these MTN call numbers and messages and so much more.
SHOULD YOU BUY
I have bought this phone with my own N41, 000 in Ikeja. From last Monday till date, this phone has served me meritoriously and I can authoritatively say that if you want a unique, simple and easy phone that gives you a beautiful swag, you can be rest assured to get that using this phone. Although, someone told me it’s a bit expensive but I can say, it’s worth it with this dollar hike by the Federal Government. In that case, you can buy this phone as it gives you value for money. OP the only truth in all you said is the design (The phone is really beautiful). But everything else you said is a wash BS for TECNO and the price too is very high. |

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Why Is It Easier To Find A Job While Employed? by Nsonaso(m): 4:00am On Apr 09, 2016 |
adekzy: Unfortunately, the tired old theme of “the rich get richer…” seems to hold true in the job search field, too. Conventional wisdom is borne out by reality. As Alison Green, author of "How To Get A Job: Secrets of A Hiring Manager," confirms:, "Employers tend to prefer to hire people who are already employed." And it’s not because human reources departments are prejudiced against people without jobs (though that might be true sometimes, according to Job-Hunt, but pretty seldom). Especially since the big downturn of 2008, employers (and everyone else) are aware that very good people have been having a very hard time finding a job.
What Joblessness Implies About You
One reason it might be easier to find a job when you’re already employed is that you’re not too eager to get the new job. Eagerness is a dead giveaway when job-hunting, says Job-Hunt. And of course, if you already have a job, normally you’re not over-eager or desperate. You don’t absolutely HAVE to have a new job, like someone who’s wondering about how to pay the rent next month. Alison Green would agree: "Rightly or wrongly, employers tend to assume that people don’t quit jobs without another lined up unless (a) they were about to be fired, (b) they actually were fired and are just saying that they quit, or (c) they’re potentially someone who walks when things are frustrating, which is worrisome because of course every job will be have frustrations at one point or another.”
No one knows if there really was truth to the story posted on Huffington Post, of an employer looking for a new employee but saying, “The unemployed need not apply.” Huffpost deleted the shibboleth shortly after it was posted. But in fact many experts say they believe companies are increasingly interested only in applicants who already have a job.
A Job Means An Automatic Network
In fact, when you already have a job, you really have some special things going for you. One important thing is your professional network. Forbes.com cites Andy Teach, a corporate veteran and author of From Graduation to Corporation: The Practical Guide to Climbing the Corporate Ladder One Rung at a Time, who points out that “when you’re working, you’re constantly interacting with your industry contacts…”. When you’re not the proud possessor of an existing job, you just don’t have that advantage. "It puts you in a defensive position," Teach says. (You also may be interested in How to Use LinkedIn To Get A Job.)
Not having a job while you're looking for one brings up the same problem set as a gaping hole in your work history. "The issue of gaps in employment history is a thorny one," says Bronwen Hann, a Toronto-based recruiter, for they can give "the wrong impression about your abilities and ambitions, imply that you're not capable...or that you were 'dishonorably discharged' from your previous job and didn't know how to get back into a position. Worst of all," Hann says, "it can imply that you're lazy, or that you don't care about your career." (Also, check out How Long Should My Resume Be?)
You Have More Negotiating Power
It helps with leverage, too, when you already have a job. You’re in a better negotiating position, obviously, if you don’t actually need the job you’re offered. And employers know that all too well.
Must Your Job Search Be Confidential?
But of course, like everything in the world, looking for a job when you already have one does carry certain risks. Your current employer might hear about your job search, and he or she might look upon it as disloyal. Or even a firing offense. If you want to avoid that problem (which of course you do) it could be a good idea to talk over your dissatisfaction and your aspirations with your boss first, even before you start looking elsewhere. Often the reason an employed person looks for another job is that they don’t like a person or persons they are working with. There could be options like a transfer, or a change in departments within your company. But if those options don’t exist, then it really is time to look further.
What To Do About References
It's best not to let your boss know you are looking. "Your manager may view your desire to depart as a betrayal," says Marie G. McIntyre of YourOfficeCoach.com. For instance, there’s the prickly problem of references. You need to have some from previous employers, or perhaps you can get a supervisor who has recently left your company. Otherwise, you must choose someone you trust to keep your job-hunting confidential inside the company where you're working.
And of course, searching for a new job when you’re still at a current one takes a lot of time. You must be careful not to slack off on your current job, and also not to tell prospective employers that you’re looking for a new position because you hate your boss, if that's the problem. Candor in this case is not advised.
The Bottom Line
It is easier to get a job offer when you already have a job. But it can take some careful maneuvering and a lot of extra time to pull it off.
