Lexusgs430: I presently use a Note 3 (N9005) and would be a little bit wrong, if I was to advise in the contrary.
But if you want a combination of a phone and a tablet(phablet), the Note 3 is the best and only way to turn.
Have it rooted and the world is your oyster.
NB: You would find it difficult to put it down. Watch YouTube videos in comparison

Is there really a need to root except if you want system customization.... Like flashing custom ROM and all that system tweak...

It lags when Android apps are installed on it... If you really want a smart phone and know how to utilize it, BB is never a best choice except if you have an Android Tablet to back it up

What ODM does is to manufacture a product to it's clients based on the clients specifications (on a contract) ...

And when ODM manufactures a product, it brands the the products the client name based on the clients specifications

ODM has no right to brand the product his/her own name on any part of the product manufactured but that of it's clients name.

Difference between ODM products and Career Branded Products is that;

When a Career brands an OEM products, both the name of the OEM and that of the career will be written on that product. E.g you see HUAWEI / ZTE modem branded MTN-NG, ETISALAT NG, Airtel NG and Glo or you see Apple iPhone or Samsung phone branded T-Mobile, Verizon or AT&T..... That is career branding for you

But when ODM manufactures a product, only the client name alone will be written on that product.

In a lay man understanding, using you as an example... If you ask Foxconn to manufacture Computer, Tablet PC or Phone for you with your name (Ymodulus) only Ymodulus will be written on it..... Foxconn will not be written on it.

Well bro to clear some facts.....
1. Your Samsung Galaxy S3 is branded AT&T which is a short for "American Telecom & Telegram" and it's a USA Mobile Network Career just like MTN Nigeria.... So it's USA or American used

2. International version of any phone (no matter the brand name) is the ones sold in different countries without being branded by any mobile careers... E.g the ones sold in Nigeria.
Characteristics of such phone is that you can just rip it out of the box and insert any SIM card of your choice and start using it. Not like career branded phone that only works with that particular mobile career SIM card except unlocked like the one you're using.

Solution:
Just like the other brother suggest... It might be a software problems just give it to a professional to flash a very good custom ROM for you...

1. Am not a university student am Polytechnic student and we don't have WIFI in our school...

2. Even if all Universities have WiFi network, those it covers off campus or you won't be browsing with your Tab at home or any day you want to browse you will start going to school even when you don't have class.

3. My brother is in UNN and I've visited him for a couple of times... But their network is nothing to write home about during the day time... But at night, it's very fast. So will I be waiting till night before I browse with my Tab? Come on Bro I don't like to depend on people before I do my thing

I didn't like Mi Pad because it's cheap but it's because of it's high end spec, the wide screen like iPad mini, the big capacity battery 6700mah and also the MIUI.... NO con apart from the ones I mentioned earlier

I like Galaxy Tab S 8.4 LTE because of it's spec as well, The Super AMOLED screen, finger print scanner

Con 1. narrow screen (not as wide as iPad mini)
2. Lower battery capacity 4900mah

The price isn't my problem so don't worry.....

Mi Pad is good but will be more better and best if those features are included.... And am even interested in Tab but the absence of those features gave me a second choice Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 LTE version though still waiting till October if Xiaomi didn't release another Mi Pad with those features then I will have option than to go for Galaxy Tab S 8.4 LTE version
