Christianity EtcEnd Violence And Discrimination Against LGBT People! – Pope Francis by nspodcast1(op): 1:01pm On Apr 10, 2016
Pope Francis has called for an end to discrimination and violence toward LGBT persons.

On Friday, Francis published his long awaited guidelines on family life; a 260 page document titled, On Love in the Family.

The guidelines are informed by two conferences held in 2014 and 2015, in which bishops from around the world met in Rome to debate issues affecting families.

The Pope’s paper, an official “apostolic exhortation”, does not see any changes to Catholic dogma, which describes homosexuality as a “grave depravity”, “intrinsically disordered” and “contrary to the natural law”.

It does, however, insist that LGBT people should not face discrimination and violence. “Every person, regardless of sexual orientation, ought to be respected in his or her dignity and treated with consideration,” says Francis.

He also states that “every sign of unjust discrimination [against gays and lesbians] is to be carefully avoided, particularly any form of aggression and violence…”

The Pope’s tone is generally one of conciliation and empathy; urging priests to be tolerant and not apply Catholic dogma inflexibly.

“A pastor cannot feel that it is enough simply to apply moral laws … as if they were stones to throw at people’s lives,” Francis says. “By thinking that everything is black and white, we sometimes close off the way of grace and growth…”

The Pope further acknowledges that the nature of families around the world has changed. “There is no stereotype of the ideal family, but rather a challenging mosaic made up of many different realities, with all their joys, hopes and problems.”

The document urges more acceptance... continue here:http://nostringsng.com/end-violence-discrimination-lgbt-people-pope/

Brilliant!!! who are you?
Pyrrho:
Yes, you can justify homosexuality in isolation as it doesn’t equal paedophilia and beastiality on the grounds of Fairness and Justice.

An homosexuality is assumed to be adults engaged in same sex or being attracted to someone of the same sex.
(Please note the bolded above)

Paedophilia is simply taking advantage of an underage.

Beastiality like Paedophilia is also a form of injustice as you can't get consent of an animal...

It is hard, considering the principles of Fairness and Justice, to fault grown people of same sex who derives pleasure in their company willfully.

It is disgusting to me. Yes it is. I really wouldn't like my child to grow in exposure to homosexualism. Nevertheless, I cannot, even after contemplating on the act for years now, find any just reason to oppose two grown adults who engages in anything pleasurable, and willfully! ...without impinging on the rights of others, or hurting others, or putting the lives of others at risk!

Although the act may be appalling, I'm sure we are yet to accept this truth because most of us grew up as heterosexuals in a society dominated by heterosexuals.

On these basis, freedom, equality, liberty, justice, fairness, rights, obligation, responsibility, duty etc. No one can fault an Homosexual.

Sin is relative. In religion, sin is considered to be something harmful either to self or to another. In the case of homosexuality, it harms no one.

In that case nobody chose to sin abi?
Christianity EtcHomosexuals Do Not Choose To Be Homosexuals – Archbishop Desmond Tutu by nspodcast1(op): 11:47am On Apr 09, 2016
Archbishop Desmond Tutu, who led a decades-long fight against racial discrimination in South Africa, says the oppression of gay people around the world is the “new Apartheid.” The retired Anglican archbishop spoke openly with NBC’s Ann Curry about God, the bible and homophobia.

In a sit down with Ann Curry of NBC joined by his daughter, he said;

“It’s not a choice, you don’t say, I choose to be white, or I choose to be black. It’s a given, you don’t choose your sexual orientation”

When asked about if he thinks that God hates gays, he said:

“I am absolutely utterly certain that God wouldn’t be homophobic. I rather go to Hell, that go to a homophobic heaven”

He was spoke about the long standing arguments concerning the bible’s rejection of homosexuality. He said:

“The bible said quite a lot of things many of which I do not accept at all. Yes many of us say that the bible is the word of God, but yes, it is the word of God through the mouth of human beings”

He concluded by saying:

“God sits there, and weeps, because God is saying, you know what? You are all my children, you are all members of one family, my family, and when are we going to learn to live amicably together?”

CultureRe: See What Nigeria’s Homophobia Has Caused – By Olubiyi Oludipe by nspodcast1(op): 6:26am On Apr 04, 2016
You seem not to understand, I mean if two consenting adults fall in love with each other, and are engaged in an act of love with each other, and nothing is been forced on them. what is your problem with that? Imposing Sharia Law or any form of religious law is different, why? Because it will affect those who do not choose to partake in its practices.
MRBrownJ:
doesnt BH want to impose sharia law in Nigeria? actually, if i'd follow your way of thinking, we should let them do what they desire?! hell no! there NEEDS to be laws so that everyone doesnt just do what they bloody please, in the name of "liberty/respect for all".

if you have a problem with the law, then go in the street and campaign to have it changed, but until then, FOLLOW THE LAW.

as for the law and religion, sadly its too late to try to change that.... try going to any court to realise that!
CultureRe: See What Nigeria’s Homophobia Has Caused – By Olubiyi Oludipe by nspodcast1(op): 10:34pm On Apr 02, 2016
This is exactly why there should be a clear distinction between the law and religion, the two can never mix. If it does, then there is bound to be disorder in the society. Take the issue of Boko Haram as a case study. Love cannot be hidden.
MRBrownJ:
sadly, there are many acts that are valid, harm no one, yet are against the law in Nigeria (check abortion for instance)... and thats because Nigeria is a VERY religious country (whether Christian/muslim) and their holy book is strongly against homosexuality. who are we kidding? marriage is a big deal in Africa, and homosexuality goes against it. laws in every countries are made FOR the majority of its people, and if they are against a sexual orientation, then you best believe that there will be laws against (or in favour of) such act... hey, its ok for an adult to marry a child in Nigeria!

such law actually protects gays and lesbians because if they didnt have to hide, they would be lynched on site, with such super religious/homophobic Nigerians.
CultureRe: See What Nigeria’s Homophobia Has Caused – By Olubiyi Oludipe by nspodcast1(op): 9:14pm On Mar 31, 2016
Please note that, homosexuality is a valid human sexual orientation, and harms no one. Homosexuals are humans, and they too also have rights that must be respected. These laws are discriminatory, and Nigeria is a secular society, an equal society, meaning that it belongs to everyone, and so everyone must be treated equally, and be allowed to EXPRESS their love to whom ever and however. Majority cannot decide for the minority, in every society their is always a minority, and its the duty of the majority to protect the minority. Thanks.
MRBrownJ:
as much as this law may be discriminatory to gays and lesbians around the world, this is the Nigerian law and anyone hoping to break this law in Nigeria should get the hell out 1st.

as much as i have many gay/lesbian friends, nobody is above the law. that would be just as crazy as me being upset because drug dealers are killed in China etc, while this is their laws.

if you cant stand the heat, stay the hell out of the kitchen!
CultureSee What Nigeria’s Homophobia Has Caused – By Olubiyi Oludipe by nspodcast1(op):
Nigeria’s Anti-Gay Law is evidently, and clearly not about marriage, but about criminalizing human rights. This law has over the years since it was enacted, promoted violence, mob attacks, illegal arrest, extortion, and has even caused the death of many within the Nigerian LGBT community.

Olubiyi who is a Nigerian Health Rights Activist, in this article, clearly points out some of the major terrible setbacks that the community has suffered ever since Ex-Nigerian president, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, increased the heights of homophobia and discrimination against sexual minorities, by signing into the law, the Same-Sex Marriage Prohibition Act.

NEGLECT FOR TRUE JUSTICE

The authorities’ response to mob attacks and other forms of anti-gay violence has been limited. Officials rarely condemn the attacks. Police, even in the few instances in which they provide protection to victims, have not arrested anyone for participating in or inciting these attacks.

Nigeria lost its humanity long ago; our previous homophobic president nailed the coffin of humanity some years back. My heart bleeds for the departed ones who have lost their lives. It’s hard to be yourself in a country where 90% have black and black brain. This has been made evidently obvious by the lack of the government’s lack of interference in the case of Akinnifesi Olumide Olubunmi who was recently murdered in Ondo state for being gay.

DISCRIMINATION

Every human deserves the dignity and not to extend this would violate our humanity. Life is sacred and must be respected. Homosexuality is not the totality of some ones identity, it doesn’t make someone a bad person, and it is only one aspect of their humanness. Advanced societies can be measured by how they protect the weak and vulnerable, so as a moral community, we can therefore have issues with the act, while showing compassion to people with this orientation.

The Nigerian society generally regards homosexuality as the most unacceptable sexual orientation, which means that gay men, lesbians and bisexual people may be marginalized and discriminated against.

HOMELESSNESS

After being discovered later by homophobic family or guardian, many LGBT youth are thrown out of their home, mistreated or made the focus of their families dysfunction.

Homelessness is a critical issue for the lesbian, gay, bisexual community in Nigeria.

For far too long, too many of our young people have been kicked out of their homes by their families and guardians, forced to live on the streets, for simply being who they are.

This has been a national disgrace of epidemic proportions.

Indeed, Improved Sexual Health and Rights Advocacy Initiative (ISHRAI) teams report found that young LGBT people in Nigeria make up a disproportionate number of runaway and homeless youth.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE

There are many challenges unique to most at risk population. Although every LGBT person is subject to the psychological consequences of social stigma and discrimination, depression feeds into substance abuse, which in turn leads to high-risk sexual behavior.

A Nigerian man talks foolishly about his different encounters with white men who have sex with him for money.

In the video, he claims that he is not into drugs as people may confuse his involvement with white men for drug dealing, especially when they lodge together in hotels. His story is almost unbelievable, as he stutters nonsense about his experiences with both men and women.

He said;

“They pay me, I do, I go and they pay me 3,000.00 (Three Thousand Naira) each time we have sex”

He further talks about the different problems he has been having with the police as they have continued to look for him, and this has damaged his business. continue here to watch the video: http://nostringspodcast.com/video-foolish-nigerian-man-says-that-white-men-pay-him-for-sex/

CultureShocking Video: Secret Study Of African Black Tribal Homosexuality & Sacrifices by nspodcast1(op): 4:16pm On Mar 22, 2016
A whole lot of Africans find it hard to believe that homosexuality is deeply rooted in Africa and can also be found within every other continent in the world, and that it was widely practiced and celebrated in Africa, long before the colonial masters brought in Christianity and introduced the draconian laws criminalizing homosexuality today.

I stumbled on a certain video on YouTube, and this video, will confirm the above assertions to be completely true. In the video, you will watch what appears to be an African cultural festival, portraying male homosexuality in a positive way. A certain African tribe, gathers in excitement and watches as some men, play with their bodies and genitals, masturbates in public, some pretend to be women and carry out homosexual sex acts on top of each other. Throughout the video, you will come to discover that these men really did....Continue here to watch the video:http://nostringspodcast.com/shocking-video-secret-study-of-african-black-tribal-homosexuality-sacrifices/

CultureHomosexuality Began In Africa, Not The West! by nspodcast1(op):
The view that homosexuality is alien to Africans has been widely propagated by several traditional and faith leaders, and even great sons of Africa that topped or continue to top the echelons of African political leadership like Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, Sam Nujoma of Namibia, Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, and the late Bingu wa Mutharika of Malawi, to mention only a few of them.

Homosexuality is not an alien culture to Africans because historically, Africans were the first human beings to practice homosexuality not Europeans or Americans. Therefore, homosexuality is not an importation from the West, if anything, what Africans imported from the West is the criminalization of homosexuality, which only began when Europeans colonized Africa between the 1880s and 1900 and enforced their political governments and legal systems on our continent.

As a matter of fact, Africans are historically rather tolerant towards homosexuality and they tolerated homosexuality until Europeans came with Christianity which introduced homophobia. Homophobia is rooted in the belief that homosexuality is sinful, because that is what the Bible teaches. But the Bible is not an African book; neither is Christianity a typical African Religion, but a Western one. Therefore, if Africans must blame the West for anything to do with Homosexuality, then we must blame them for criminalization of homosexuality and homophobia through teachings of the Bible because that is what they brought, not the culture of homosexuality.

Secular history shows that homosexuality was practiced in Ancient Egypt about 4500 years ago. The first human homosexual couples on earth lived in... continue here:http://nostringspodcast.com/homosexuality-began-in-africa-not-the-west/
