@4llerbuntu, what makes you think say i no be engineer.. you would have to use licensed software (for the router) to do what you want to do. i.e. selecting Band 3 or 8. i'll escalate issue on coverage in L/I and revert back to u for a test. 4llerbuntu: i think we have reached the point where i have to state that if you would like my address so that you can come and beat me, please ask for it
"he stuck to his guns" like say dem compel una. i said something, you said it didn't work. e no finish?
na me get blame wey i continue dey reply una, na why nothing una talk fit vex me unto the matter.
onto better things o jare.
Ntelassist this one that Airtel is entering the unlimited game, una sure say una no go return to 10k?
make una think am well o, you know say una speeds are more or less the same........
meanwhile, @ntelassist please help me ask your engineers how to get the router to select one of band 3 or band 8.
network on lagos island used to be really good, but since you said you've stopped FUP, its still quite shitty and weak. maybe one band go dey better than the other. on my phone i can do that and it makes a difference sometimes |

hahahahahaahaah!!!!!.. @hodonuu may be ntel is the one changing the firmware of the device now too.. 4llerbuntu: you see the problem is when you are quicker to yarn than discern. and i don't mean this in a confrontational manner. For some reason you all felt it was important for me to be right. Which is mad weird because there's no gain in my being right or wrong.
Please refer to my posts on previous pages.
1. With my experience in relating with people with differing skill levels I've learnt that you don't suggest a difficult solution before the simple ones.
2. in all honesty i did not immediately avert my mind to the firmware as a primary issue. this is because i assumed anyone who unlocked the mifi also changed the firmware as a matter of course. As you didn't, the other person who said your unlock process was poorly done was right.
3. ironically i actually did mention changing the firmware. the posts are there for reference. I didn't stress it because naturally i know not many people would be comfortable with flashing a mifi. if i suggested 3 solutions and you tried one that didn't work its expected that you maybe try the other two. its a choice
4. For the record, the bug is actually related to the APN. no matter what you set as the APN it doesn't actually change from the Spectranet APN. if you ran a trace on your Mifi you would see it still tries to call that spectranet APN.
other networks aren't as finicky about APN like Ntel network is. About a week ago i tested etisalat and glo sim cards in my ntel router, i didnt even set any APN before they worked.
5. Funny thing is flashing the Mifi does not remove the bug still. it just makes it such that you can now switch the APN when it defaults to the Spectranet one. You will still need to do this occasionally, especially if you are fond of switching the sim out of the Mifi.
6. The very first response to my suggestion was unbelievably antagonizing. I immediately apologized for commenting but i kept being attacked. Did you seriously expect me to be bothered about saying more? Can you explain to me exactly why my suggestion of a solution even if wrong warranted so many insults?
7. I deliberately posted the screenshot of my device info page. my imei etc was exposed. I'm savvy enough to know that is wrong but i did it. also asked other people to post theirs on the chance someone would eventually figure it out. which you did
Finally, please do not insinuate that i post things here for validation or approval, or that i will engage in a pissing contest with random strangers on-line.
With all due respect, we don't know each other but i joined nairaland when it was 3 months old thereabouts and i was not a teenager then sef. that should give some indication about certain info about me. I've had more than one account as people like OYB will tell you.
Its not about being right or wrong. Its about helping each other. But the events here in the past week was a learning experience about how-to and how not to do that.
Ultimately, i'm happy you fixed your issue. It is unimportant to me whether i contributed to a solution or not. It doesn't add one kobo to my account, nor are there any perks to such a thing on nairaland
So enjoy your mifi and refrain from posting snarky comments about people who only tried to help |

Hello Sir, we do not block ooo. and we cannot give you reason for what we do not know why it is happening. especially since they were working before now.. if you ant to ave your subscription, pick up ntel router from our store in Lagos PHC and ABuja hodonuu: Same here, never been able to connect since Ntel started this issue and btw I am using that same mifi on MTN 4G to type this
I am sure the time they used in shouting no we don't block , they could have channelled such energy in resolving this |

@stanley08, The playstation incident has been resolved a long time ago. if there are any other occurrence, let me know. but that kind of issue is bound to happen when we are offering customer unlimited internet access meaning the network is prone to a lot of abuse. These abuse are noted by IMOs and as such we have had to constantly and consistently put effort to ensure that does not happen again. Instagram i also loading properly as well as other embedded video. You can try u now. do you have an ntel SIM? Stanley08: Ntel has some of all these weird weird issues. Like then Playstation network wasn't working. Still don't think it works. You can't access Play station store. U have to use another ISP to start the download. Then pause it and use Ntel to continue
There was also a time Instagram wasn't loading properly.
Now, I'm hearing this E5372 issue. Mhen, i'm comfortable with spectranet for now. I dont even have power to stress.
@ntelassist, if only you guys paid me for featuring my name in ur email... Maybe i would have been on your side by now. It's not still late. PAY ME.

Thank you @dhealthy. oyb: 1.3mb/s is not the fastest. And the service is kind of flaky. For want of a better word, it keeps seizing. Almost as if there is a valve in the pipe constantly being opened and closed. Some of my downloads constantly jump from 1.3mb/s to 500kb/s to 100kb/s

Ntel Nova Specification

Obviously we do need and want 4G service, but what those Ntel expect us to use a 3.5 inch, 1GB phone with LTE? They also said “The entry of Ntel Nova into the device market signals a new dawn in the evolution of the Nigerian 4G/LTE segment which has been impacted by concerns around the availability and affordability of 4G/LTE-capable devices. Our investment in Ntel Nova further underscores our firm commitment to changing the game in the 4G/LTE broadband segment and to support the actualization of the penetration targets outlined in the National Broadband Plan of 2013.”
I mean for N25,000 what the game changer here? These companies should better wake up and provide something really useful for us. One of the only use of these phone is to use it has a Hotspot device, and the 25GB Data for purchasing the device.

You actually just showed why you would block below.. We DO NOT BLOCK... I have the right to present the companies activities to you from a technical perspective and observe QoE from the users here. Btw, Didn't someone here ignorantly lay claims stating Ntel doesn't try to make you buy their own mifi? Well now you see your assertion was wrong ... I am making statement of fact, not assertions that are not factual. That someone DO NOT work for ntel.. The above quote is a bunch of crap! First Ntel nor Spectranet nor swift nor smile or other networks don't manufacture devices ! They just have partnerships with device manufacturers like ZTE, Huawei etc which lock the device to the network and may provide customised firmware on the device until you provide an unlock code and/or flash/install a different firmware on the device. But when it is unlocked it becomes free to use and nothing, I mean nothing the network can do apart from blocking the IMEI from connecting to their own Network!! They can't! I repeat they can't prevent or block the unlocked modem from working on other Networks that supports the band .... FYI, when you buy a device, you have a right to lock to your network. The meaning of locking is that you can actually disable bands that are not supported by your network among other things. On your claim that nothing can be done by the network, well you can use FOTA to provide an upgrade to your devices (and you have a right to upgrade devices), which brings them back to normal state it was before people go to unlock them, hence the FOTA can lock the device back. so please know this can happen. Now to put more holes in that crap shenanigans theory, why would Spectranet block the device from connecting specifically to only Ntel?? Yet the same Spectranet unlocked device works perfectly with Swift, Etisalat 4G, Smile and MTN 4G which supports the Huawei e5372 bands? Or has Spectranet, Swift, Smile, Etisalat and MTN suddenly merged and no longer competitors? - device procured by Telco are significantly different from their open market counterpart. Thank you. let u move on by your continuous patronage. fotyy: You actually just showed why you would block below..

If they could play shenanigans like you falsely claimed, they would have just locked back their device from unlock status back to lock status
So the only shenanigans here is coming from Ntel!

And you wrote " Go and buy a universal LTE modem or mifi that supports LTE bands 3 and 8".... but since when did Huawei e5372 stop supporting band 3 and band 8? It was supporting band 3 and 8 before Ntel became operational in Nigeria! Infact I have been using mine for months with Ntel before you guys decided to prevent it from successfully connecting to your Network as a strategy to make us ditch our working mifi device to buy your newly introduced mifi |
Phones › Re: Subscriber Options for UNLIMITED Internet - WORTH IT? by ntelassist: 1:28pm On Jul 09, 2017 |
@all. ntel does not block any IMEI of any device. Why would we do that? Secondly, if there is a device from another operator And such device is cracked to work on the ntel network, there is a possiblity that blocking and other types of shenanigans can come from the previous operator. The device is theirs and they expect you to use it on their network. My advise is that. Go and buy a universal LTE modem or mifi that supports LTE bands 3 and 8. Or better still visit the ntel store and pick up one of the various Mifi devices amd get fantastic deals. hodonuu: Yes I can confirm unlocked Spectranet branded huawei mifi e5372 doesn't connect to the Ntel Network for over a week now |
