Without that ruling, Akwa Ibom would still have been massively underdeveloped since all the oil revenue it gets comes from offshore oil wells.

But it fits the pattern. Pick up a non-indigene from the South East, stress the fact that his state of origin is Anambra and try to push the arson on him. All ties to the plot to frame the whole drama as 'outsiders burning down Yoruba land'.
