please I'm a fresh graduate and I want try to get this NDDC MSc scholarship.. Is there a way you can guide me as to how to go about it

I would say this is a good place to start.
go through this and similar threads.
if possible follow links that show you the final list of previous scholars, so you can tell what kind of msc courses are acceptable and start seeking admision as soon as you identify an acceptable course that interest you.
Then wait for the advert, apply, prepare, get your documentation ready, get a recommendation letter from one of the appropriate persons, take the CBT, do well above average, then go for the oral interview but this time you need to be excellent as it is responsible for 60% of the final score.

Then Pray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would also advice that you get a January start date instead of a September, October or early November start date.

Guys, I have been paid.
It just came in this afternoon.
However this is the lowest I've ever been paid, a decrease of about £3500, or 2500 using the current exchange rate. Wow. By some divine magic
£21300 = $30000
I.e an exchange rate of 0.71 instead of 0.76.

It's good news all the same.

Well, hopefully you people may still get it. What I know is that Seledi has actually worked hard to see that payments wwere made. As with NDDC which we have already witnessed, they will still pay - it is a matter of waiting game. The people that are paid now were the ones on the list prepared by January. I know that you ladybug was paid then. I guess you must have submitted the documentation for payment of another year since it was already due at that time. To my understanding, she concentrated on the ones that didn't get paid then and told us to resubmit our paperworks. It looked as though payment was about to follow those of January but it lingered till a week ago. If after the week you don't get paid, just know that your name was not included in that list. The payment pretty comes fast!

I don't think so.
I wasn't paid in January and I have evidence that my name is on the list; and as we speak I haven't received payment even though my name is on the list prepared in February (not January).

I guess those in USA got paid first as there was no need for any currency conversions since the scholarship is in US dollars.

Hopefully people in other countries would get paid this week.

haha. Sure you would be paid. Maybe we should do a commendation letter to her together when you finally get paid and if possible invite interested member of the forum to join us in this regard. This will energize her and spur her to keep answering scholars' emails no matter what. She does really deserve our commendation

I just heard some people in USA received payment yesterday.
Obviously the NDDC scholarship is in dollars, so maybe we’ll start hearing UK payments next week.

But NDDC can't be trusted. I'm still waiting to hear news of a UK payment.

Well two good news.
1) that Mrs Seledi Email is now working, as the lady has done her best to manage a bad situation.
2) That the file has finally left NDDC office for CBN.

Until someone gets paid, we can't really tell.
I was expecting news of payments to start filtering in this Friday. Let's see how next week goes.

Hello, same issue here. I have been emailing Ms Seledi for the past week and just recently yesterday, but the mail always returns undelivered. I have resorted to emailing Godson, however, he has not been responding to my enquiries for a long time now, and still hasn't. I keep hearing that payments are being processed or that we will receive payments soon, but nothing at all.

Well this is the latest from the most reliable source I have.
Our payments have been approved by the MD for about two months now (early last month). In the federal civil service it is not just the signature of the MD that is required but also that of the executive director of Admin and/or finance.

So the story is that MD has signed and has forwarded the file to the EDFA office, who is supposed to sign, forward the file to the relevant payment authority (CBN) and pursue/follow-up the payment. But as at two weeks ago, the file has not left his office. This is consistent with the behaviour of this EDFA since 2015, this is not the first time he is doing it.

The British Prime Minister would be in Nigeria either today or tomorrow and we want to pass this info (about non-payment of NDDC scholars) to the British high commissioner, so that they bring it up, but have so far been unsuccessful.

With regards to Mrs Seledi, she hasn't been replying since the file left the MD’s office, I don't know if it is a coincidence or if she has been moved elsewhere or if she has left NDDC.

In any case, the EDFA is the one we should be concerned about now. Those of you that have his contact should start bombarding him. As for me, I want him removed, besides the MD might not know the actions of this man is giving him a bad name.

Everything about NDDC has become so quiet. This happens when you put politicians in charge of something as sensitive as NDDC.

Don't worry they would remember you after they've sorted out their fate in upcoming primary elections.

It's shameful to say the least, but this kind of behaviour is expected.

Well, regardless of the source of the information; whether reliable or unreliable, I think it is the responsibility of the management of NDDC to formally publicize the cancellation of the 2017/2018 scholarship scheme with REASONS the same way they publicize the temporary suspension of the exercise in order to clear the backlogs of debts owed earlier scholars (which they have not concluded), in the national dailies last year. Not until this is done, there is no amount of action staged by the participants in the last year's scholarship exercise that can be justifiable within the existing laws of the country. We all have are various constituency representatives in both the state and federal houses of representatives + the senate. Immediately the commission announces the cancellation of the 2017 scholarship programme without viable reasons, we should quickly send petitions to our various representatives and senators and see if they will just write-off the petitions without thorough debate on the contending issues. Thank God they recognised that the transport stipend is our right; they should also recognise that it is our right and their duty to inform us on the REASONS behind the "Cancellation". For now, lets just cross our legs and wait until the cat is formally let out of the bag.

I believe their decision would be communicated to us ”when they feel like”
We think it would be this month, that is this week or before the end of next week.

Anyone can believe whatever they want at their own expense.

There are 1000 reasons why the scholarship cannot be cancelled, one of which includes an upturn in oil prices. I don't want to join issues with anyone.

It would be easier to continue with the process, as you would have to provide good reasons for its cancellation, and at this point, we can rule out lack of funds. Cancellation would also lead to a backlash, irrespective of the reasons. Why wait this long if you are going to cancel it? Why continue with the scholarship scheme after this cancellation?

As I said before, we know the meeting held over the weekend with the president (represented by vice president Osibanjo) in attendance. We don't know the full details of what was discussed, we don't even know if a decision has been made. I guess we would know in time.

please this is funny and it seem to look like a very bitter pill too hard to swallow, but it remains the truth, unless if we can press on them through any means possible to reverse on it, better for us, from a very reliable source I was told that, they have cancelled the 2017/2018 NDDC Foreign Screening.

please nobody should mix up faith with this one, whether U believe it or leave it, I have been hopeful and prayerful waiting for the list to come out soon until I got this shocker yesterday. although I have been silent on this platform reading every comments that gives hope!, the arguments, criticisms, names calling etc....
I actually wish if I should have a news for this platform it should be a good one, but here is the irony.
funny enough the source also told me that in no distances time, they are planning to advertise for 2018/2019, which I told him rubbish.
in as much as i am concerned NDDC doesn't own 2018/19 prospective applicants anything or apologies , so why looking forward without addressing what's before them.
He also said the Transport allowance was our right that's why they couldn't denied us from it.
Shame to NDDC management's and the entire state's Reps, for you all are complete disgrace to all of your member state.

lastly I pray that, for this your decision and false hope you given to us for over a year plus, You too shall also not find peace.

For those who are still skeptical about the release of the 2017 list of NDDC scholarship awardees, I want to remind them based on the statement of the MD/CEO of NDDC, Mr. Ekere that by May this year every issue relating to the award of scholarship will be concluded in order for scholars to proceed for studies by September; even though he did not categorically stated whether it is 2017 or 2018 scholarship programme. However, going by the fact that the NDDC 2018 scholarship programme has not been advertised, it then implies that the 2017 programme must be concluded by May this year. Moreover, NDDC suspended the release of the 2017 list of awardees in order to complete the outstanding payments for previous awardees which I understood was done by January this year. So, I don't see any reason why they should cancel the 2017 programme to commence 2018 programme. It doesn't make any sense; unless they have concluded to totally abolish the scholarship scheme. The delay has always been the overall culture of the agency from time immemorial; but, delay is not denial.

Not every scholar was paid in January, quite a few haven't received a single payment. I am one of them.

Some scholars that were paid in January still have a second outstanding fee.

This delay is exceptional, there has been none like this in NDDC history. Even for NDDC this delay is unusual.

However, there is no indication that the process would be cancelled. It looks like payments of the remaining scholars and those that have a second outstanding few and the release of the list would be concluded this month. There seems to be an aoura of confidence in NDDC’s communications that was absent before last month.

I guess we would have a clearer picture by next week.

The ease with which a lot of Nigerian Youths loose focus is beginning to make me reconsider their lazy president unguarded utterance.

The truth is that giving up is expensive, yes it can cost you a lot.

So before anyone of you give up, you need to ask yourself if you can afford it.

As bad as it is, it is still an opportunity to get much needed ”proper” education and despite all the ”challenges” (like late payment of fees), I would still look back one day and say it was worth it.

So if you think it's no longer worth it, there is no point to keep pushing, you can continue discussing the history and evolution of various races.

However, if you still think it's worth it, you need to keep your focus and continue pushing.

I am very proud of ladybug.
There was a similar lady in the bible who kept on pushing until an ”ungodly” Judge avenged her of her enemies.

No matter how stubborn, corrupt, insensitive, etc. you perceive the current NDDC set up is, if we keep pushing, they would bend. I didn't say it, it's in the bible.

It's possible.  You only get paid once if your name is not on the list

You misunderstand me.
Jaybadestboy:
Maybe we could be payed twice. The first email might be the stipend money we didn't receive for the interview while the second u could get if you eventually get the scholarship, transportation fee to collect your scholarship certificate

My understanding of your theory is that

If you reciecve two mails then it's an unofficial confirmation you've gotten the scholarship.

You are paid for attending interview
You are paid for attending the induction

However dont you start building castles in the air, the stress (collecting account details twice) seem totally unnecessary.

You can collect bank details once for both purposes.

But if we are to dwell in your hypothetical construction for a minute, it can only hold water

”IF there are people who only received one mail”.

If not then it's more likely that there was a mistake in the first mail.

And what if i tell you that i know one person that is currently in the UK under NDDC scholarship. What if i tell you that he didnt even take the test yet he was asked to come and collect his award letter in November last year. For you to assume that i didnt 'do well' beats my imagination. Anyways, i thought i should share that. I didnt expect to be attacked for sharing. I was also very disappointed. Please keep your hopes and expectations alive. We live in a messed up country, thats all i will say.

Just that you have not told us anything.
The person you talk about is most likely a previous year scholar that differed his admission.
When you do that they give you a new letter.
So yes, he wouldn't need to write last year exams because he already did in the previous year.

Can we confirm that everyone has received payment at least once within the last few weeks. I understand there are still some people that have not yet received any payment.
NDDC contacted me during the week asking me to verify if I had recieved payment, I said No.
The next day they asked me to forward my invoice immidately, on or before the 31st of Jan. The school forwarded an invoice to the officer in charge of payment on the 1st of Febuary.

However on the night of the 31st NDDC MD claimed to have cleared all outstanding debt on TV.

So I am guesing they already have the money to pay me.

But as i said before, i was among the 12 UK students that got paid in April last year. Wasn't paid among the current batch. At first I tot it was because they wanted to first settle others outside the initial 12, but now i know its because they didn’t recieve my invoice.

In summary it is very unusual for NDDC to ask for feedback from scholars. The fact they did that shows some seriousness on their part to clear the debt (say by the end of January). I beleive they would have gotten feedback from all those who haven't been paid or are being owed 2nd or 3rd year fee, and will pay them. This should bring the payment process to an end.

I will keep the house updated, however, I think NDDC will release the 2017/2018 list this month and also commence the 2018/2019 application process by month end or early march.

I believe NDDC sent out a mail yesterday asking scholars to confirm they had received their fees and upkeep allowance.

So It seems that they are rounding up the payment process. Hopefully that would mean paying the second/third year tuition fees of scholars still owed.

More importantly, it would mean they can now transfer their attention to the release of the scholarship list and also start a new application process.

It’s kind of tricky, as the minister and NDDC can have very different definition of “outstanding debt”. For instance the last time I was paid was april last year. I’ve not received any payment recently even though my fees is due and nddc received the invoice since last year.
However, I think (based on everyone I know) that everyone who has been owed for about a year has been paid once. There are people whose second or third year fee is also due but haven’t received a second payment.
In the interest of 2017 scholars, I think we should start focusing on release of the new list, so people can start planning towards April or September.

This suppose new payment hasn't reflected in my school, (I understand it takes some days anyway) making the matter more confusing!

I sent an email to scholarship coordinator to remind that I am still due one more year tuition as I said in an earlier post; and was not expecting anything to be honest, at least not now. However, she responded by asking me to send my year 3 invoice. So if you are due one more payment or the second payment from nddc (PhD scholars) then perhaps you should also send your invoice(s) to coordinator as well.
