Another opinion of someone.

The reason-Indian movies drag over a long period-each movie has to run for at least 180 minutes and feature a song and dance routine every 15 minutes,the song lasting for some 5 to 7 minutes.
Moviegoers do need a break for snacking and relieving themselves.

Alright,so i was watching an indian movie today and was taken aback by the usual music intermission in almost all their movies and decided to check out the history behind it.
Here is what i found out,feel free to add your opinion(s) guys.

Bollywood evolved from sanskrit theatre which was very poetic and did have poetry in it. Songs,music and dramatic dances were an integral part of sanskrit theatre which dates back thousands of years.
Unlike western cinema which is broadly based on aristotle's three act structure, bollywood's structure is based on the treatise of 'rasas',sanskrit word for moods and emotions.
You won't understand bollywood unless you
understand the indian culture.
