ExLaidback: That Ren Cap analysis on first bank carried by nairametrics is beginning to seem more like a ploy by some gangsters to push the stock price down.
About NPL denominated in dollars

Manonamission: I guess he is doing it innocently without any ulterior motive.
@NuttyChoky I really can't figure out the difference between disclosing percentage gains or losses and actual portfolio holdings/gains. But I think sticking to percentage holdings, gains, losses disclosures ensures some sanity on a thread like this. It doesn't give room for profiling and makes everyone feel more comfortable. You never can tell the effect on a starter with a portfolio value of like 50k or a money bag with value of like 200m. While the starter is in awe, the money bag is disgusted (if he thinks your purpose is show off). Gotcha... I have actually learnt so much from this thread |

currentprice: finding means to get out of your WAPIC abi,,,,@ 88m offer no bid,,,, you need special monkey H skills to get buyer for this one
skye and fcmb yet to start,,, all road lead to the bank I have loaded 3million units of WAPIC... That stock's days in the car park are soon over. Those trying to get out now are JIJO people that have chopped dividends and are now trying to partake in the current boom |

locodemy: Good investment plan.........i wish people get you right. Its funny that two subsidiaries (Livestock and Port paint) are 10% up today, UAC-prop (another subsidiary) is 3.75% up and the parent company (UACN) never move 0.5% sef Like I said, the market must correct itself and I will wait till that day... plus 150k dividend loading in June ofcourse |

ExLaidback: OK thanks a lot guys. I guess the final decision still rests with me.
But @nuttychoky you say more up side for FCMB than FBNH? The FCMB sef is on full bid, only FBNH has a means of entry for now. Look to their PBV and asset quality. |

ExLaidback: Guys based on prevailing economic conditions and what we are seeing presently in the market, I'm a little confused here. Which would you recommend for entry presently between FBNH, FCMB and UBA. I would have gone with FBNH without hesitation but I'm not sure why FCMB is not full bid and it isn't. Your thoughts would be much appreciated.
$$$ I haven't done an analysis for UBA. But between FBNH and FCMB at today's prices I would go for FCMB reason being more upside and margin of safety |

forbes30: ....current CURRENT P/E RATIO (TTM) of 18.90 on bloomberg and yet FCMB is on full bid no offer even after gaining over 9% in the past two days what is going on....?....i need to understand this.....can anyone help explain....?....skye bank is still stuck at about 1.11 and yet FCMB just dey fly dey go..... That PE ratio you quoted is wrong... based on 2015 results should be 4.91... and the PBV of 0.14 shows a huge margin of safety |

735i: Naa... I'm not going to be active... I'll just buy and hold dollars. I sense a sudden spike in exchange rates and an official devaluation in the coming days. The spike is already happening because of the deregulation announcement [N325/$] But I don't think it has the potential to be as profitable as the NSE now with all these P/BV of 0.1 |
