Be careful this coming week folks...

Stocks like FBNH and M&B have displayed the parabolic arc pattern so I'm expecting serious retracement

Just my opinion...

This will be the next UCAP.....I rest my case.... grin grin grin

Na so e easy! On the other hand though I never take seriously any stock recommendations that show potential upside of 60 - 100% because it assumes the managers of the business have no sense.

If there was that much upside the responsible manager would carry out a stock buyback (not seasoned abi rights offering) because that is infact the best use of capital at that point (over and above any other ways to allocate said capital - including generating revenue)

I just read an analyst report from 2013 that showed a Target Price of N80 for UACN grin grin

Fundermental analysis tells you WHAT to buy, Technical analysis tells you WHEN to buy.
We all need to learn TA (at least, to an extent).

Bought at N15.99 but there were signs it could fall further that I ignored.

This is very true... I saw the signs that it was going down further so I hesitated... will enter when the signal changes

@IHelp That great. I think i will come back here this time next year to be the best 2017.

DID ANYONE MAKE ABOVE 30%?

Two users I believe did better than 30% - fxuser and bigjay01

Thank you for alerting the forum early enough to the opportunity in UCAP and DANGFLOUR early in the year!

Overall the main lesson for next year is to have at least one third of my portfolio in fx or bitcoin...

Happy holidays to the NSEMPA crowd

I respectfully disagree with you. What was the reason why CBN agreed to manage float naira in the first place? Because foreign investors wanted it. What happened afterwards, investors shifted the goal post by saying the currency market is not flexible enough, hence the reason why they cannot bring in their currency. If CBN decides to fully float naira today, these investors will still not invest and will only engage in speculation of naira. They will find other ratinale to justify their position. Most investors will not commit their capital because Nigeria is still grappling with high trade imbalance, high inflation rate and other critical macro challenges. Fix these macro problems without devaluing your currency and see how foreign investors storm our economy in droves.

I also disagree with you... The greatest mistake I made this year was not converting all my money in the market to USD when Peteriechy was screaming because I thought the oga at the CBN was a human being that had shame...

That being said, even if foreign investors don't come back immediately, it will lessen the pressure of Local Investors who are shorting the Naira at the moment... Check CBN statistics of $$$ deposits in dom accounts.... it has gone down by almost $7bn in the last one year because people dont even believe their dollar is safe in the bank anymore... The worst thing that can happen now if they don't float is that there will be an fx run on local banks like is happening in Zimbabwe today and $1 cash will have more value than $1 in your bank account which you cannot withdraw...

If you use a price to dividend ratio of 10, then Forte Oil cannot be worth more than N30 which is why I have not looked at the stock since the beginning of the year... might reconsider if it goes below N40

(Disclaimer: I am biased because it burnt my hand in 2011)

They will probably still pay good dividends, at least according to the last call transcripts I read... The dividend monies have been coming from the other group businesses not the bank

Tomorrow 1st Nacho will make new low at 2.57 ..i plan to buy at 1naira.

They haven't done a stretch sensitivity on exchange rate... if the dollar devalues again, they will take a major hit! And I'm betting that the dollar devalues again because the current system is not sustainable

Stocks DT move together- ucap and afriprud.
Keep your eye on afriprud now DT ucap has moved.

I'm not sure they will follow each other this year... I gave this warning some three months ago when I offloaded all my AFRIPRUD units above N3.00.

The forecasts for AFRIPRUD 2016 results are not good at all... Doubt if they can do 30k EPS this year

“It is our job as contrarians to catch falling knives, hopefully with care and skill. That’s why the concept of intrinsic value is so important. If we hold a view of value that enables us to buy when everyone else is selling – and if our view turns out to be right – that’s the route to the greatest rewards earned with the least risk.” - Howard Marks

chai my wapic proceeds though at loss is targeting Fbn at 3.00........It is going to be a thing of no regret........my last opportunity to get more fbn at the lowest price ever is this

Sold 75% of my WAPIC at a marginal profit yesterday (N0.52/N0.53)... Holding onto the rest to see what these moves mean

There's 10m bids at N0.50 at moment... I'm suspecting people are trying to increase their holding without affecting prices

Bros the truith of the whole matter is this..........a good stock dont need advert or monkey hunting for people to join........i now have ucap and i dont think i need to ring bell for it to go up..........pls tell enyone you know that has wapic to do as i did.........13billion units things.......waiting for reconstruction

Edit: Thanks to Locodemy , Intendy and feelamong I have spotted the error in my excel and advise any fundamentalists to head for the exits except they have other insider information...

WAPIC has 13bln units outstanding of which AIG owns almost 3 - 4bln units... I don't think any reconstruction is happening

Also they paid dividends earlier this year and will probably pay for FY16 again based on share of associate's profits from Consolidated Merchant Bank

P/BV of 0.22 is a steal 0.43 and forward P/E is probably around 10 which is fine by 25 which is too expensive for meme.

Finally with the US GDR listing planned, I think AIG is trying to get the foreign guys come in.... I will trust his judgement on this one...

Disclosure: I am loaded in [my biggest long term bet besides UCAP]
