A Nigerian citizen on twitter made a post on Nigeria present ruling government, saying that the country's government is not a good one to be.

The twitter user identified as Ayo Bankole who according to his profile is a strategist and convener of LagosMeBootCamp . Ayo made his tweets following Oby Ezekwesili, the convener is making complaint asking why people like Oby Ezekwesili who do great things for Nigeria hasn't been rewarded.

Bankole said;

It’s really discouraging to see great people like Oby Ezekwesili do great things for Nigeria that attain global acclaim, including a Nobel Prize nomination, and yet consistent attempts at discrediting her at home cos of politics. It leaves one questioning if it’s really worth it?

For over five days now, it has gone viral that the popular american rapper Earl Simmons, known by his stage name DMX is dead and died at the age of 50.

The chairman Zamfara State Council of Chiefs, Emir of Anka, Alhaji Muhammad Attahiru Ahmad has blamed the Federal Government for the abduction of Jangebe school girls in the state.

The emir, who led a delegation of emirs to Government House Gusau to sympathise with the governor, victims’ families and people of the state over the recent abduction of Jangebe school girls, said it was due to the Federal Government’s weakness.

According to him, “the incident was received with heavy heart. We come to sympathise with you over the incident that happened. It’s really a tragedy.”

“This incident started in Borno with Chibok girls, Dapchi girs in Yobe, Kankara in Katsina, Kagara in Niger State and now Jangebe school girls in Zamfara State.”

“We know it is the responsibility of the Federal Government to provide adequate security of lives and properties of every citizen. You (governor) have done your best. But the Federal Government has not provided enough security.

“Consider what happened recently when Jangebe school girls were kidnapped as ordained by God. It’s the weakness of the Federal Government. Let the world know that it is not your fault.”

The emirs prayed that may Allah makes it the last incident in the state and country at large.

Responding, Governor Bello Mattawale said his administration was doing all what it can to ensure the safe return of the abducted children.

He assured that his government will not relent on its responsibilities of providing safety of all citizens.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Gombe zonal office has secured the conviction of one Hassan Abubakar before Justice Abubakar Jauro of Gombe State High Court on 15 count charges bordering on criminal breach of trust.

Hassan, who hails from Donga Local Government of Taraba State was arraigned sometimes in 2019 following a petition by one Abubakar Suleman of Akko Local Government Area of Gombe State, alleging that, in 2017, the convict diverted the sum of One Million, Five Hundred and Eighty Two Thousand Naira (N1,582,000) which he invested in a rice farming business jointly owned by them.

Count three of the charge reads, “That you Hassan Abubakar and Jamilu Abubakar (at large) sometimes in 2017 in Gombe, within the Jurisdiction of this Honourable Court converted to your own use the sum of N208, 000.00 (Two Hundred and Eight Thousand Naira only) property of Abubakar Suleman and thereby committed and offence contrary to Section 311 and punishable under Section 312 of the Penal Court Law”.

He pleaded not guilty, setting the stage for trial.

Justice Jauro, in his judgment, said the prosecution through it counsel A. M. Ocholi proved its case beyond reasonable doubt. He convicted and sentenced the defendant to one year imprisonment on each of the 15 counts. The sentences are to run consecutively.

Popular Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi has stated that Nigerian journalists are “criminals” for describing the activities of bandits as criminality.

He made this comment while speaking when he featured on Arise Television on Thursday.

Gumi expressed that the media is adding to the insecurity problem by the names they use in describing the bandits.

He explained that if the media wants them to surrender, they should not be castigated and referred to as criminals but rather, nice words should be used to describe them.

Kaduna state government has said security agencies have reported a sequence of attacks by armed bandits on soft targets in Igabi and Chikun local government areas killing 18 residents.

In a statement issued by Samuel Aruwan ,Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, who said the attacks occurred over the last 48 hours, said according to the reports, Anaba village in Igabi local government area was attacked, with seven residents killed:” listed as: Ali Musa,Isa Sharehu,Tijjani Isa,Auwalu Shehu, Hashim Abdullahi,Hassan Saidu, Umar Rilwanu”.

Aruwan said many of the houses in the community were burnt down, along with storehouses and barns, noting that about 20 cows were rustled and a number of poultry slaughtered and carted away.

“Also, Barinje village in Chikun local government area was attacked, with eight persons killed, listed as: Sunday Gwamna,Lawal Jizo, Salha Barau, Sabo Barau, Umaru Barau, Muhammadu Dan Azumi, Zailani Dogara, Jikan Gambo”
The statement explained further that some residents were abducted, and cattle rustled during the attack, adding that an unspecified number of injured victims were receiving treatment in hospital.

The statement explained that,the attacks on these soft targets at Anaba and Barinje villages in Igabi and Chikun LGAs respectively, followed the killing of several armed bandits via targeted air operations.
Aruwan said: “Air paltforms had earlier conducted armed reconnaissance around Anaba village. The crew observed houses on fire and locals migrating to nearby settlements. Some motorbikes were observed with suspicious movements underneath some trees; probing shots were fired at these.

Herds of cattle were spotted with bandits at Malul Forest and were engaged accordingly.
Also, air platforms conducted armed reconnaissance over some affected locations.

Kawuri, Chikun, Godani, Kusasu, Godani Station, Kwafe, Kuduru, Irina, Chikwale, Kudame, Kwakwau, Beni, Akilbu, Polewire, Rijana, Rugu, Olam farms and adjoining areas were covered”.

“Bandits in large numbers on motorcycles were sighted on a track leading to Kankomi. They were trailed and engaged by the crew, with scores seen neutralized afterwards.

The statement said following intelligence of bandits converging at forests in between Maidaro/Damari general area of Giwa/Birnin Gwari LGAs, armed reconnaissance was conducted over the locations, in conjunction with ground troops who conducted cordon-and-search operations in the area.

Aruwan said a further mission was conducted over Gagafada, Birnin Gwari LGA:”No suspicious activities were observed here. The scan was extended to Gwaska, Goron Dutse, Kuyanbana, Maidaro and Sabon Birni.

Suspicious movements were sighted at Goron Dutse, the sources of which were promptly engaged and neutralized. Also at Kuyanbana, a long convoy of motorcycles was observed heading into the forest, which was likewise vigorously engaged and neutralized”.

“The security agencies hereby appeal to the communities to report anyone found with suspicious bullet wounds to the Security Operations Room on 09034000060 and 08170189999.

President Joe Biden ordered flags lowered to half mast Monday after the United States crossed the “heartbreaking” milestone of 500,000 Covid-19 deaths, while Britain eyed lifting lockdowns in the latest sign of global gains against the pandemic.

A businessman, David Maduka, who sells doors, has narrated how three customers paid him with paper cut to the size of naira notes after purchasing goods worth N497,000 in Agbarho, Ughelli North council area of Delta State.

Maduka told reported on Monday that the incident happened last Wednesday at his shop located in Agbarho.

He said the three suspects came in a new white Toyota Sienna and bought four doors totaling N497,000.

“I was on my way to Onitsha. My brother and sales rep were here, but I was the one who transacted the business on the phone.

A mentally-ill girl has been released from a room where she reportedly chained by her mother in the Arochukwu area of Abia State.

The teenager simply called Ada was said to have been locked in a room with a chain round her neck and limbs.

She was rescued on Sunday by operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in collaboration with Vicar Hope Foundation and the Child Protection Network; a non-government organisation run by Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu, wife of the state governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
