The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have decided to make the contract details of Finidi George undisclosed.
I have read several reports and figures, This is what my reliable source has told me;
* N15 Million monthly salary for Finidi George as the head coach of the Super Eagles. There will be Bonuses and allowances as add-ons.
* One-year contract with an option to extend after the 2025 AFCON. It’s a performance based contract.
* NFF would pay his assistants and discussion has been held with all his assistants and agreement has been sealed with all the assistants. The NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau also confirmed the assistants would pay on game-by-game basis.
* The NFF and Finidi George signed a well documented contract with the above details protecting all parties interest.
“My first target is to make sure that we are in line to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup by winning the upcoming two matches against South Africa and Benin Republic. The 2025 AFCON qualifiers will soon start and we must also be prepared for those as well. I know what the NFF wants as it is boldly written in the contract, and I will work very hard to add value to the team and put myself in the position to earn even more than I will be earning from the take-off.”
On relationship with the players, George said: “I have always had a cordial relationship with all the players as an assistant coach. I am still the same person even as Head Coach now, only that the title has changed. There will be no controversy regarding relationships with the players. These are professional players and we have to give them what they’re used to in Europe; you don’t need to slap anyone to get him to do the right thing.
“I will try my best to ensure the team starts functioning properly and we start winning games again. There is no pressure on me; I have tough skin. I just want to call for your support. I know this is not an easy job, but with the support of everyone, we can achieve our objectives.”
lbrichman2: Asin eh Even we the fans were bamboozled then But now wey football don progress, we all see that as unnecessary showboating Exactly why he didn't play for the best clubs in his day
........at a point I was shaking my head watching the clip. I really pitied Amokachi and Finidi, dem go create for their selves but Jay Jay would sight them, yet still went for showboating.
Its now I understand why some particular Legends on European Football Section didn’t rate him at all.
Nomyth: This is not true, on the contrary, we struggled in d match he did not play.
You mentioned the semi final against SA and forgot the opening match against Tunisia where he was unplayable.
Watch the AFCON 94 final against Zambia on YouTube, the Zambians ran riot in the midfield once okocha was removed. Even Pele who was in the stands said he stopped enjoying thatch the moment Okocha was substituted.
I doubt we would have won the semi finals against CIV in that AFCON if not for Okocha.
I hail the players that played with Okocha in this match, dem get patience die. Jay Jay would see openings for through pass but would rather hold on the ball and showboating.
Oasis007: We must bring back Greenwood in January. Eediot on the right wing is usless. €100m wasted on a Brazilan Pocolee.
I support Sancho for going against that useless Manager. You can't keep playing that duñce week in week out, yet you won't allow Sancho to have run of games.
Time to go abegi.
Bring Back Ole Gunner Solksjar.
Some of us stand for him against that fraud. Welldone Sancho and Congratulations. You fvcked us though big time when you were with us but we ain't gonna lose hope on you yet.
There is a GK trainer (Baruwa) who worked with Peseiro and Finidi. NFF also mentioned Vincent Enyeama. I don't think Finidi will have any objection between Baruwa (the current GK trainer) and Enyeama.
And for Amokachi, Finidi is coming with his first assistant coach (Amokachi will be the second assistant coach), a Fitness Trainer, and a Match Analyst. I heard the three assistants are coming from Europe, the first assistant coach is a Nigerian-German.
According to my source; The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Finidi George have concluded discussions on contract terms and his assistants.
Finidi was asked to set up his technical staff and assistants but the NFF will add Daniel Amokachi to the coaching crew and a goalkeeper trainer.
My source confirmed the NFF reached out to Vincent Enyeama to take up the role of the Goalkeeper trainer but it seems Enyeama is not interested in the role and offer. He hasn't responded.
Finidi is bringing three other assistants aside from Amokachi and the goalkeeper trainer from the NFF.
afrodoc2: It is obviously deeper than merely changing managers, even though I still want the current one gone if possible. 😂
When Chelsea had a decent system in place under Abramovic they could fix things by just sacking the manager, but immediately the American cowboys came in sacking manager stopped working.
Recent pressers of ZeroHag show that, he is more likely to be in charge next season. He said they are already working on his 5th window signings as Manchester United Manager.
He admits that out of 4 windows so far, he was successful in 2, fail in 2. LOL!
