So how do you intend our military will succeed in a foreign country, or you think the Nigerien Army will just come outside and be used for shooting practice? Ogbeni dis war is silly and needless, the after effect on Northern Nigeria will be massive and a big problem afterwards. You don't have money to provide subsidy for your people, but you have money to fight war. Our military chiefs will kukuma support the useless war cos they will cash out big...

Their greatest undoing was keeping bosoum alive.

They should have killed him, all their foreign ministries are disobeying their order and saying it is illegitimate.

Even the prime minister said he doesn’t recognize them and he is still the prime minister.

You know what’s actually funny in all this😁. The coup leader in Niger was actually the leader of Ecowas forces in Ivory Coast 😂

I know you are just catching cruise sha, let your military show it strength against Boko Haran, Herdsmen and ESN first.
grin

Guerilla warfare and conventional warfare ain't the same. They should come out in the open and get sent to their Maker in very short time.

Bokoharam will be defeated in less down 3hrs, if they engage our military in a conventional warfare. Herdsmen and ESN in less down 30mins, they'll down in 6fts.

Niger army will fight conventionally...and the result is glaring.

.....they should ask theirselves why US failed in Afganistan and handed the nation to Taliban and Armament as jara in the end.

Or why ISIL hasn't be defeated till now. They may also check with Israel, why they have never successfully defeated Hezbollah.

....yes. same thing we did in Sierra Leone and Sao Tome & Principe.

Funding? ECOWAS will be responsible. AU, US and France may help with aids as well.

I read it sir. You saw where he said civilian (the locals) fought either independently or along side the army against Bokoharam. He was only looking at other option which is dialogue but that failed because people were afraid for their lives to represent FG and so many people argued that FG should not negotiate with terrorist.

Recently Zamfara governor call on Tinubu to negotiate with bandits but Northern Leaders kicked against that. They told Tinubu not to listen to him.

Maybe you are getting it wrong or something. Yusuf was an extremist. Yusuf was of the opinion that.

1. Western Education is forbidden
2 . Implications of the Sharia Law is inadequate.
3. Employment in service of the Nigeria government is forbidden
4. Etc. He was doing all these with the use of force.

Ango was never against military intervention entirely according to your screenshot. He said the government should looked into how those guys are being recruited. The question was related to the 100 soldiers killed by Bokoharam

Yusuf was killed in 2009 with the help of the locals.

This are two different issues entirely. Boko Haram is a terrorist organisation. Niger is a country.

Please share!
"The main issue raised is that, yes, military option is important, no doubt, because the Boko Haram militants are using force, killing people. So, there is no doubt that the Nigerian state must be well prepared to do the same.

But we did ask a question: ‘Is the military option always the last solution or the only solution available?’ And the answer is obviously no, particularly if you look at inferences around the world where countries are fighting this kind of insurgency."

This is the press statement from the US sate department.

MR PATEL: Good afternoon, everybody. I have one very – actually, I don’t have anything at the top. I don’t know why I said that. So happy to dive right in.

As the only person in this row, go ahead, Daphne.

QUESTION: If I could start with Niger.

MR PATEL: Sure.

QUESTION: Are you concerned that the events that are happening in Niger violate – would violate U.S. law barring aid to coup regimes at all? And is that why you’re avoiding coup language and statements on this?

MR PATEL: So this is an evolving situation, and the situation remains incredibly fluid, and thus it’s too soon to characterize the nature of ongoing developments. What I can say is a couple things.

First, we are closely monitoring the situation and are in close communication with our embassy in Niger. What I can also share is that the embassy has conducted a full accountability for all official personnel and family members. But these events continue to evolve. As such, we’ve also publicly advised U.S. citizens to limit unnecessary movement and avoid some of the affected areas until further notice as the situation develops.

https://www.state.gov/ecowas-action-on-mali/

But broadly, let me just reiterate, since you asked – we are gravely concerned about the developments in Niger. We strongly support the democratically elected president, President Bazoum, and we condemn in the strongest terms any efforts to seize power by force and disrupt the constitutional order. We also call for the immediate release of President Bazoum and respect for the rule of law and public safety.
grin

.....and this is where Nigeria comes in.

Now you are getting it.

I want you to do something, go to France24 on YouTube and watch all their coverage of this coup, you will notice a pattern anytime they are suggesting or mentioning intervening in Niger, the name that comes up is Either Senegal or Ivory Coast, they will never mention Nigeria. Even though everyone knows it’s Nigeria giving Ultimatum and threatening to intervene 😂.
Nigeria and France are technically not in good terms diplomatically. When Macron visited Fela Shrine during Buhari Administration, it wasn't regarded as State visit and dude was treated like a common man. When PBAT visited France recently for a Summit too, they served us back!

Abuja is never happy with Paris dominance on francophone nations in the name of Policy of Assimilation. We are surrounded by them, hence we can't afford to sleep with our 2 eyes closed.

Nigeria actually want France to leave, but we can't let coupists take over the nations as well.
