Shaytun:....France is losing her grip on francophone countries, hence their support for Boots in Niamey is understandable. I honestly happy France is getting booted out of the Region, coz they don't wanna let these nations breathe. Almost all francophone nations are damn poor, thanks to France. US actually want Nigeria to act. PBAT is dealing with the US not France on this matter, and its more likely that the Intervention is largely funded by the US through Nigeria. |
Shaytun: ![]() .....easiest. we didn’t send army before they did the needful, same as Togo. Just Threat! |
![]() .....if you're opposing the military intervention, prepare to form a shield in Niamey and get roasted like Suya. Our Jets are ready, our soliders can't wait to teach those Modafuckers some lessons! Morale is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 |

1990: LIBERIA Charles Taylor led a militia against the Liberian government, leading to the outbreak of civil war there. Consequently, the regional bloc made an unprecedented move to intervene in 1990. The initial 3,000-man ECOMOG contingent was formed with personnel drawn from Nigeria, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, and Sierra Leone with additional soldiers contributed by Mali. 1997: SIERRA LEONE Nigeria’s next military intervention was in 1997, when we led the ECOMOG contingent to Sierra Leonean capital, Freetown, in 1997 following the overthrow of the elected civilian government of Ahmed Tejan Kabbah by Major Johnny Paul Koroma in a military coup. 1999: GUINEA BISSAU The next stop for Nigeria and ECOMOG was a ceasefire mission in Guinea Bissau after hostilities broke out following an attempted coup in 1998. The fight was between government forces backed by neighbouring Senegal and Guinea against coup leaders who had control of the armed forces 2003: IVORY COAST After Ivorian armed forces and rebel groups came to a ceasefire agreement in 2003, Nigeria and ECOWAS deployed troops as ECOWAS forces in Côte d’Ivoire (ECOMICI) to complement the United Nations and French troops. 2003: LIBERIA While the first civil war brought Charles Taylor to power, the second civil war between 1999 and 2003 led to his exit. This time, Nigeria and ECOWAS deployed troops under ECOWAS Mission in Liberia (ECOMIL) with some 3,500 soldiers, with the most coming from Nigeria. They served as an interposition force, keeping the warring parties apart and facilitating the arrival of the United Nations Mission in Liberia (UNMIL). 2013: MALI A 2012 coup in Mali led to a breakdown of order and armed groups immediately took advantage of the coup that followed to overrun the north of the country. Nigeria and ECOWAS led the Africa-led International Support Mission in Mali (AFISMA) to support the Malian government in the fight against rebels in 2013. 2017: THE GAMBIA Codenamed “Operation Restore Democracy”, an ECOWAS operation led by Nigeria and Senegal sent troops into Banjul to force Yahya Jammel who had refused to concede an election loss to Adama Barrow in the 2016 election. All missions were largely successful, go and verify. Nigeria’s military has always written it name in gold and glory when called upon for continental mission. There is no military in Africa that is as battle prepared and exposed to all the nuances of both conventional and non conventional warfare as the Nigerian military. Whenever the history of peace keeping and conflict resolution in Africa is told, the Nigerian military will continue to feature prominently. |
![]() ....let me drop throwback of our previous military interventions in the Region. |

STATE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE FORENSIC AUDIT OF CBN UNDERWAY AS WE WIN BACK INVESTOR CONFIDENCE, PRESIDENT TINUBU TELLS WORLD BANK CHIEF President Bola Tinubu says a comprehensive forensic audit of the Central Bank is underway, while a thorough overhaul of the Civil Service payroll is imminent. The President disclosed this during an audience with the President of the World Bank, Mr. Ajay Banga on Friday at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. ''A comprehensive forensic audit is on-going at the Central Bank. We are going to do very serious structural review of the Civil Service payroll. I can't believe in the numbers I'm seeing and I’ve had that experience before at the state level. ''The reforms are in tandem with Nigeria's Ease of Doing Business programme. We'll block all financial loopholes. The reforms will be targeted at the way we work, change of attitude and equally on educating our people. It’s costly but we will do it,'' he said. Highlighting Nigeria’s resilience and intellectual prowess, the President implored the Bretton Woods institution to view the country as a significant player within the global community, not solely as a struggling economy. ‘‘We stand as a vibrant and educated society, seeking to avert chaos through strategic interventions. Your proactive engagement aligns with our quest for partnership, and together, we shall pursue mutual benefits that enrich us all,’’ he said. On poverty alleviation, the President called for more increased support from the World Bank, expressing optimism for a productive collaboration between Nigeria and the World Bank that will lead to mutual benefits and sustainable progress. He also discussed the ongoing efforts to address issues such as subsidy removal, foreign exchange mismanagement, exchange rates, inflation, liquidity, and debt management. President Tinubu also shared insights into his administration's substantial reforms, including those aimed at consolidating improvements in Nigeria's oil industry, enhancing the Ease of Doing Business, and prioritizing security to boost the country's revenue generation. The President pointed out the importance of electricity generation for economic development, highlighting the turning of sod earlier today on the first phase (350MW) of the 1,350MW power generation project in Gwagwalada, Abuja. The President explained that this project signifies the administration's commitment to a comprehensive approach, which encompasses power generation, distribution, energy transition, and tariff adjustments. While calling for a positive partnership with the World Bank, President Tinubu emphasized key areas of focus, including job creation, digitization, and National Identity Management. He also requested the World Bank's support in addressing the challenges posed by the removal of cross-sectoral subsidies, particularly in lessening the impact on less privileged Nigerians. In his remarks, Mr. Banga commended President Tinubu for his efforts in addressing the economic challenges of the country. ''Yes, we give money and our dollars are very important but where we are really helpful is our expertise and knowledge and our experience from many markets. In that way, we will always be your friend and partner, not just with the money, but with our minds and our hearts and you should be rest assured about that.'' Shaytun:Senegal and Ivory Coast get no other choice but to support military intervention, especially Senegal. They don't wanna sleep on the Bicycle. Failure to restore democracy in Niger, then their respective Presidents should prepare to be forcefully removed from Power before end of year. |
Segedinho: ![]() .......LMFAO! Who will actually suffer my dear brother? Coupists or the Citizens? |
![]() ....I am glad ECOWAS ain't gonna back down on military intervention if other options failed. You guys are free to migrate to Niger and join their vigillantes to defend the Coupists. Afterall, Nigerian and Nigerien sound almost alike. |
