Venerable612: I wake up each day to check updates on how Nigeria is progressing via Nairaland.
Each time I am disappointed by the headlines I see. Its either someone jumps into lagoon, father rapes daughter, Senator is kidnapped, President's aides steals money, mother cuts her child into two, or one celebrity is pictured eating Eba this morning.
This is honestly, not a sign of good things and I am unhappy that Nairaland plays a part in making us (especially the youths) more bitter and for some, gullible followers of celebrity.
As much as these things happens, too many unnecessary news make it up to front page and at that it just feels as if nothing good happens in this country. Why will our friends abroad want to come back home when all they hear is kidnapping and poverty?
Advice: If Nairaland wants, you can create a section for weirdo news and limit the number those updates on front page. Lots of bad things happen in the UK and other developed countries but they know to manage their PR. You dont want to give your investors a notion that they cant come to do business in your country safely. Zuckerberg was in Nigeria last year and nothing happened to him
With healthy changes, traffic can still be maintained on this Forum.
So you want us to start hiding the atrocities the Fulani herdsmen commit?
Celcius: Akinwunmi Ambode has instructed the execution of inmates on death row in the state prisons, including the General-Overseer of the Christian Praying Assembly, Chukwuemeka Ezeugo, a.k.a Rev. King. The State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Adeniji Kazeem, disclosed this at a news conference on Tuesday.
According to him, the state had begun reviewing the matter after prison officials complained of the antics of some death row inmates who felt that they had certain rights which excluded them from being executed.
The Attorney-General assured that, unlike previous administrations, Ambode would sign the necessary documents to execute those on death row. Kazeem said: “Very soon, you will see the action of this government on that issues, we are reviewing the case on Rev. King and others on death row. He added: “Lots of people are on death row, Rev. King is not the only one on death row, it is on the instruction of Ambode that I visited the prisons recently and I discuss the issue with the prison officials and they expressed their concerns. “We are moving in that direction of signing. The prison officials said we need to look at that seriously. Those on death row are beginning to think they have some rights. We are going to move in that direction, you will hear from me, but I will not tell you the exact date.”
The Supreme Court had on February 27, 2016 affirmed the death sentence passed on King by the Appeal Court. The condemned cleric was arraigned before the Lagos High Court in Ikeja on September 26, 2006, on six counts of murder of a member of his church, Ann Uzoh, and attempted murder of five other members. He was said to have poured petrol on the deceased and the five other victims and set them on fire for allegedly committing fornication. Uzoh died on August 2, 2006, 11 days after the incident, as a result of the injuries which she sustained from the burns. She was said to have been 65 per cent burnt in the fire incident. The trial judge, Justice Olubunmi Oyewole (now a Justice of the Court of Appeal), had in his judgement delivered on January 11, 2007, convicted Ezeugo and sentenced him to 20 years imprisonment on each of the five counts of attempted murder and death sentence for murder.
Libracinsales: Some guys have trained themselves to rub one out quickly, which can lead to ejaculating sooner than they'd like when they're getting it on with their sweetheart. “This can even lead to premature ejaculation issues over the long term,” says Antonia Hall, MA.,. This for years have become a major cause of premature ejaculation and low sperm count, thereby contributing to most infertility cases.

gurnam: When Urhobo ma deny you, you will face Akwa Ibom, when those deny you, you will turn to Ikwerre, when those one turn to deny you, you will look towards Anioma, bringing disgrace and insults to yourselves all the way. This attache by force and desperation for friendship/relationship with Southern minorities go kill una,
fabselad: I have never said cutting internet in SOUTHERN region of my country isn't marginalization but when such utility is used to spread false rumors and create an atmosphere of hatred and fear what do u expect the government to do. Just a simple question to my naija brothers, in 2014 when BH was ringing bells in the north what did your government do as one its main actions to curtail BH actions. The shutting down of internet services is deplorable but as a southern Cameroonian some people were using this to do more harm than good. This actions where done by so called leaders in the diaspora who are free to move and their kids go to school while ours are sitting home because a group of people threaten kids if they to go to school. I stand for a DECENTRALIZED REPUBLIC OF CAMEROON But i would never stand in for a break away nation. This fight had made us loose a lot and we have also gained also in some aspects which are; The government has decided to leave the anglophone system of education to be run by anglophones, the creation of a common law branch has been created in the supreme court of Cameroon, the promotion of bilingualism has been greatly emphasized on by the government, a common law branch has also been created in the school of administration in Yaounde. Remember this isn't only an anglophone problem its a Cameroonian Problem. South West Region of Cameroon has one of the best road infrastructures in Cameroon, a brand new stadium, and 4 annex stadiums, a student Hospital is been built in Buea and would be run by anglophones. The only anglophone region which had been neglected was the NORTH WEST REGION and it's capital Bamenda. How many regions in Cameroon can boast of such infrastructures. Even the presidents village does not have road. I don't support the actions of the government but when peace and stability is at stake the government has the RIGHT to take any action. all I have to say again is WE ARE ONE AND WE WOULD REMAIN ONE.

Save your propaganda, you denied an entire people's region access to internet these days, the only reason you give is to compare them with boko haram the 3rd terrorist sect in the world
ruggedized1: These are even rural roads in Anambra. Show me even rural roads in your useless state. Anambra has the best road network in Nigeria. You can take it to the bank.
Yyeske: Everything in Awka these days, they've forgotten us in Onitsha o. Good for my country home anyway . The place fine sha, Awka giving Enugu and Owerri a run for the money already
Every problem Nigeria is facing now came to be cos of igbos. Their thirst for power and total control over others put us where we are now.
As for the Ben Bruce guy . he is and has always been a fool. He thinks he has sense but when the Northerners have his time, they will deal with him
I wonder how someone that shallow became a senator
When you say Igbos have high thirst for power I wonder how many people killed when ever an Igbo man lost an Election, the Hausa people kill, destroy and claim "born to rule" yet they have no thirst for power.
If Igbos are the cause of Nigeria's problems please support them, they want to be on their own(Biafra)
fabselad: Stop speaking nonsense. are you in cameroonian. I am an Anglophone and we are not been marginalized.yes there is an internet blackout but stop spreading false information. Ask before speaking idiot
So why is their internet blackout in Southern Cameroon alone, why are the Southerners agitating?
