5 cool spots to hang out in Ikeja GRA

1. Sweet Sensation – It’s only fair that I begin with this one which has been present since I was small. Located on Isaac John street, Sweet Sensation, is an eatery which is very popular through out Lagos. I mean who doesn’t know SS ?. They serve locals and semi continental dishes with lots of pastries. This particular one is good for kids especially because it has a play center. There is also a hall, where you can host conferences and parties.



2. Barcelos – This is a  Portuguese restaurant which has also been in GRA for a long time. It’s one of those fries, burger and Chicken restaurants, but with class. I have been here a couple of times and this GRA branch, has a playground for kids. It also has Mama’s bakery, Sweet City and Creamy Inn. So you have a number of options to choose from hot pastries, sweets and a variety of  ice cream flavours. It is just beside Sweet sensation on number 66 Isaac john street GRA.



3. Yellow Chilli – Located on number 35 Joel Ogunnaike street, this is more of an exquisite restaurant. They have a very lovely setting, good customer service and the best meal combos, for both Nigerian and Intercontinental dishes (You need to check out their menu). I have been to Yellow Chili about 4 times and it’s always been an exciting experience, each time. Since it’s a proper restaurant and not a fast food joint, you have to wait for some time before you food is ready because they actually prepare It as you order. So that’s about 30 minutes to wait for your food, but the starters always come on time, so you can have that with your drink, while waiting for the main dish.



4. La Mango – This is more like the party place. It’s a restaurant, bar and club located on  number 3A Adekunle Fajuyi street in GRA. It is complete with a roof top area, pool side, karaoke and more. The serve tasty meals and have a good combination of drinks. This is where my  office always chooses as our party venue ( which is tiring but fun sha) and one of my friend’s bridal shower was done here too. This is one place i’ll recommend, especially for group parties or gatherings.



5. The Place – Firstly, the name is very catchy, one would immediately want to know why it’s called “The Place”. There are 3 branches in Lagos,one in Lekki, the other in V.I and then this one in GRA is one Isaac John street. It is aslo a restuaant and Club. But I feel, it’s more popular for the restaurant in this GRA branch, because the food is really good. I think everyone loves The asun, dodo, ofada, assorted rice and all other amazing dishes that the place has to offer. They also have a club, so you can go there on Friday nights or organise parties there.

As referenced in Biggie’s lyrics on “What’s Beef,” The Commission was going to be made up by Notorious BIG imself (Frankie White), Jay-Z (Iceberg Slim), Puff Daddy, Lance ‘Un’ Rivera (Uncle Paulie), Lil’ Cease (Caesar Leo DeGenero) and Charli Baltimore.

While Biggie and Jay-Z had already collaborated on numerous occasions – “Brooklyn’s Finest,” “I Love the Dough” and “Young G’s” – a full length album with both Brooklyn legends going head to head and Puffy quarterbacking the project with his commercial acumen could have resulted in a complete industry takeover by The Commission.

The Trump administration has rolled out a new questionnaire for U.S. visa applicants worldwide that asks for social media handles for the last five years and biographical information going back 15 years.

The new questions, part of an effort to tighten vetting of would-be visitors to the United States, was approved on May 23 by the Office of Management and Budget despite criticism from a range of education officials and academic groups during a public comment period.

Critics argued that the new questions would be overly burdensome, lead to long delays in processing and discourage international students and scientists from coming to the United States.

Under the new procedures, consular officials can request all prior passport numbers, five years' worth of social media handles, email addresses and phone numbers and 15 years of biographical information including addresses, employment and travel history. (/2qBSrpv)

Officials will request the additional information when they determine "that such information is required to confirm identity or conduct more rigorous national security vetting," a State Department official said on Wednesday.

The State Department said earlier the tighter vetting would apply to visa applicants "who have been determined to warrant additional scrutiny in connection with terrorism or other national security-related visa ineligibilities."

President Donald Trump has vowed to increase national security and border protections, proposing to give more money to the military and make Mexico pay to build a wall along the southern U.S. border.

He has tried to implement a temporary travel ban on people from six Muslim-majority nations that a U.S. appeals court refused to reinstate, calling it discriminatory and setting the stage for a showdown in the Supreme Court.

The Office of Management and Budget granted emergency approval for the new questions for six months, rather than the usual three years.

While the new questions are voluntary, the form says failure to provide the information may delay or prevent the processing of an individual visa application.
