Thank you for your feedback. I made a lot of mistake as this is my first time. Mine was a disaster. I started in smaller scale of 51 birds. I have lost 28 broilers already through respiratory diseases and fowl pox..

One by one they will just stop lost appetite, stop eating and keep dying. At first I tried to get much information on this as much as I can. But unfortunately I did not meet anyone with helpful info.

I also got a wrong advice from women, who told me to mix their feed with corn chaff which was a huge mistake. Before I stop using corn chaff I have lost more than 25 birds. Someone also directed me to be using vital feed

I am also using sawdust which I need to stop asap. I never thought sawdust is dangerous to their health.

Right now I am battling to save them with a drug called (CRD) and (Poxline1)
fowl pox. Their is is watery, filled with mucus. It was not so at first.

My last question is, how many times do you feed your birds? I feed mine 3-4 times daily.

Losing 28 birds, I don't think your birds are battling only crd and pox, maybe visible ones you're able to see, besides are you even sure it's pox? How does it look like? Does it have black spot surface?
Did you treat coccidiosis? What of vaccine? It even looked like you're using the worst feed that people were suggesting a bad feed for an improvement. Vital feed is bad.
Refined sawdust can be used but not the ones you pack from people's shops, those ones are terrible.

I normally start with Newhope feed then at 3weeks I mill feed using concentrate and they eat night and day with constant supply of drugs mixed water, if I'm to withdraw feed from them, it won't be up to 3hours.

I've done, agrited, chikun and Sayed broilers. Chikun has more resistance to disease but do not grow in group, agrited are the best if done well, regular drugs due to their vulnerablity, have good group growth and nice feed convertion ratio, even more tasty meat.
Sayed will only impress from week1 to week4, the one I did has genetic issue, kidney and liver failure.

Preventing crd means you'll have to watch them from anything dusty(it's the main source), good crd drugs drugs are expensive and funny enough it won't cure them totally, never use sawdust if you're rearing group chicken in smaller space (infact don't use it at all) ventilation is very necessary as well, also avoid excessive ammonia buildup, do regular cleaning.

There's a big difference doing poultry in smaller scale and bigger scale, you can only manage diseases in bigger scale, you can hardly cure it, you don't cure crd, you manage it to the minimum level, it won't be noticeable even, drugs like tylodox extra, tylocare works good.

New Hope feed is great.

They are very fat and have fat legs

I am raising them for Christmas for my family

I hope by December when they will be 5 months, it won't be too late to consume them

I mean must they be consumed at three months or they can stay beyond three months

They eat a bag of pallet feed grower in three weeks they have very fat legs from day one up till this three months

If I continue on their feed till December Christmas would they still be healthy

Broilers are very fragile creature, intending to keep them long means you don't have to feed them so much, grower is ok, as long as keeping up with their medications they can live up to 2yrs. The longer they live the tasty the meat.

I have never been in such a situation where i am afraid to make mistake like this.

I have been with this girl for more than three years, of courses i promised her marriage, but i have been seeing so many red flags which after doing my findings, takes me to her being a narcissit.

Am going to be talking about the 4 best types of broiler breed we have in Nigeria and the hatchery that produces them, the advantages they have over themselves and you get to know which you should go for when you are ready to start poultry farming.

The 4 best Broilers are
1)ROSS 308.
2)COBB 500.
3)ARBOR ACRE.
4)MARSHALL.

1)ROSS 308.
The Ross 308, they don't grow very tall and are always short but very fat, they can withstand cold but they hate heat.Ross 308 grows faster than other broilers breed. They have a good conversion ratio and are more suitable to be raised for 4-6weeks and then sell them off. they can weigh up to 2.5kg at 5WEEKS of age. The hatcheries that produce them include SAYED AND AGRITED HATCHERY.

2)COBB 500.
Not as fast-growing as the Ross 308, but they grow taller than Ross 308. They can’t withstand cold and often sneeze and contact chronic respiratory diseases(CRD) easily even when they are still a day old chick. They are also strongly resistant to heat more than Ross 308. And more agile and resistant to diseases.
Hatcheries that produce COBB 500 include ZARTECH, OLAM, CASCADA, AND NPG.

3)ARBOR ACRE.
They are more similar to Ross 308 and can weigh up to 2.7kg At 6 weeks of age, they have an average daily weight gain of 93 g and an average daily weight gain of 79g at 8 weeks of age under good conditions. They are also more resistant to diseases.
Hatcheries that produce ARBOR ACRE ARE AMO, CHI, AND FIDAN.

4)MARSHALL
The only disadvantage is that Marshall doesn’t grow up fast like the other breeds do but they are the broilers that grow the tallest among the broilers breed. And they are more required during the celebration period because of their physical appearance. They can stay up to 12 weeks before you can start marketing to sell them.

As a farmer I consider this as crap

Sayed and agrited aren't same at all, Sayed grows faster than agrited from week 1-5 but agrited surpasses them in the 6-7week.
Agrited grows magically, week 3-4 you'd wondering if they're even growing enough but week 5-7 you'll see magic growth as long as there's constant feeding.


The last set of Sayed I did had genetics problem, fatty liver. Still building experiences though but imagine out of 200birds about 15 specifically male birds died off on the fourth week due to fatty liver, I don dey fear them.

Two days ago i decided to sit my wife down to ask her about her strange behaviours. She was like, nothing. To cut it short, i told her to feel free and it'll not bounce back negatively, she started shedding tears then she said she don't love me any more and that her behaviour was adopted to make me divorce her. She said she wanted to poison me but couldn't because i was a good person. Had it been I was abusive she would have poisoned me. She revealed to me that she was in relationship with the man who she wanted to marry for two years. I told her not to worry and that she can leave. She brought a pigeot and packed all her belongings, i paid for the pigeot services and also gave her pocket money.
