A family has been thrown into mourning, after their son who is UNIBEN graduate but deployed to Bayelsa for his NYSC year was shot dead.

The deceased's brother, Prosper Collins, took to Facebook to narrate the incident that led to his brother's death. Here's what he wrote;

Having won this year’s Spelling Bee competition, organised by the Lagos State Ministry of Education, 16-year-old Bukola Zoffun, a senior secondary school student of Awodi-Ora Secondary High School Ajegunle, Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area, has emerged as One-Day Governor in Lagos state.

According to Bukola who wants to become a lawyer, her tenure will be use to champion the course for girl child education in the state, and according to her the exposure from the competition will help her achieve her dream.

She said;

“I have put in my best effort to have been selected at the preliminary level and here I am today a proud winner.”
“I am very happy to be part of this competition, and I can tell you that this has given me great exposure that will help me to achieve my dream of becoming a lawyer.
“As the winner of the competition, I will have the opportunity to be the One-Day Governor, and I will equally use this platform to promote the need for girl child education, because what I have learnt so far is that every child has a right to education.”

According to The Nation, She praised her teachers for helping to prepare her and other pupils from her school that participated, saying that the participants have gone through vigorous training in the last six months.

Lagos State Deputy Governor Dr Idiat Adebule said the competition is getting better each year due to the effort of the teachers and the government’s investment in the education.

Tutor General/Permanent Secretary Education District V, Mrs Anike Adekanye, lauded the state government for the initiative which she said has assisted public schools’ pupils.

She said the teachers and staff of the school work so heard with the pupils, adding that the effort of their hard work has paid off with two of the students from the district wining the first and second positions.

While the winner of the competition will be crowned One-Day Governor as well as a cheque of N250,000, the first and second runners-up – Miss Rosemary Ogidan of Methodist Senior High School, Badagry and Master Philip Daniel of Yewa Senior High school, Agege – got cash prizes of N150,000 and N100,000 respectively.

Nomoreloss’ Wife Phoenix Battles Chronic Illness One Year After Husband’s Death

One year after she buried her husband, wife of late Nigerian singer Nomoreloss, Adeola Phoenix Osinuga, is battling a chronic disease called fibromyalgia.

A chronic disease that has kept her in constant daily pain and kept her away from her radio job with Rhythm FM.

Sharing photos on social media, Adeola Phoenix Osinuga wrote of her battle:

‘I can almost open my own pharmacy at this rate. Sometimes, you need painkillers for the pain caused by going to the hospital for painkillers.’

‘(Sigh) when I think about the amount of chocolates I could buy with this money instead of buying medicine.’

Reaching out to National Helm, it has been gathered that ‘Edo woman’ from Esan central LGA of the state, Mrs. Suzzan Idogei, was reportedly struck with madness, after suffering a partial stroke, for refusing to provide her only surviving son for initiation, into an occult group in the region

Her son Felix Idogei who had a chat with National Helm, said he had to run away from Nigeria to Europe because of threat to his own life.

According to him, his late father was a member of a very powerful occult group in Edo and even after his death years ago – the power of the group still had powerful effect in his family. He disclosed that members of the occult group kept pestering his mother to bring her first son (Fedelis Idogei) for initiation in order to replace his father in the group but she refused.

He went further to reveal that his elder brother also refused to join the group because he was a christian. The cult group allegedly killed him due to his refusal as he died in a mysterious circumstance. After the death of his elder brother, it was now his turn to be initiated. The cult group kept disturbing his mother both spiritually and also physically to bring the only surviving son (Felix) to join them. She reported the case to the police about the physical threat to her life (see affidavit below) but the police could do nothing about it.

Felix revealed that he had to flee Nigeria when the threat became too much…Thinking that his escape would help kill the matter, the cult group struck his mother with partial stroke, she couldn’t use one of her hands. The mother was taken to Lagos from the village to stay with her brother but that move was also in vain as the cult group still reached out to her and finally struck her with madness.

The young man (Felix) disclosed that his mother is now insane and is nowhere to be found. The video footage below which he provided of her – was taken before she went missing..

He said he’s sharing this story to the public because ‘I want people to learn from my late father ways so they won’t think of joining any cult‘, in his words.

Sometime last year, Five Star Music Boss, Kcee took to the street of Lagos to hawk recharge cards on a charity project, and met Promise, a ‘shoe – rack‘ hawker from Ebonyi state who he promised to help.

However Promise who has been hawking for over 6 years, was arrested by officials of KAI (Kick Against Indiscipline) and transported to their office in Alausa, Ikeja the following week Kcee and his crew went all out to help him.

He was however released after Kcee and his brother intervened, and also signed an undertaking never to hawk again. Luck shined upon Promise, as he was given a brand new Toyota Corolla car courtesy of E-Money as well as the sum of #300,000 to fuel the car, a new apartment and also a new shoe business was opened for him.

16-months after, Promise is now knocking on E-Money’s and Kcee’s mansion with his mum, to thank the duo for helping him, as it was gathered that he’s now doing well and taking care of his family. His mother who was almost in tears, also thanked the brothers for lending her son a helping hand.

An HIV-positive woman yesterday dumped and abandoned her newborn baby at GRA Benin city, Edo state.

Thankfully, before any harm could come to the child, who doctors have confirmed to be HIV positive also, he was saved by kind-hearted Nigerians.

Sharing photos on Facebook, one of the rescuers Cecilia James announced they have launched a search for the baby's mother. Because they believe she needs to be found to avoid spread of the virus and because they believe she needs support to start a business and take care of her child.

Cecilia wrote on Facebook:

Just finished doing omugwu for our new baby (an interesting experience) wish we could find the mother of this child and support her with funds to start a business and take care of her child.

Doctors just confirmed the Child is HIV positive (the more reason the mother should be found to avoid spread, HIV is no longer a death sentence ) pls if you know someone who knows someone who knows someone who had a baby yesterday in Benin and didn't come home with the child, pls tell her to come and carry her child and some money to start her life again..

Abandoning the child is not the best option for both of them. Pls help share and let's find her.

According to a shocking survey of 2,000 adulterers in Europe, the most common reason why men are unfaithful is simple: the other person was just really hot.

Men stray because they can’t resist the temptation of the other person.

However, the second most common justification for cheating revealed from the survey was more emotional, with many men saying they decided to be unfaithful because the other person was really there for them.

Taking to Facebook to announce what made him change, a Nigerian man Stan Ekezie, revealed that eavesdropping on an argument between his kids made him stop undermining his wife in front of them. According to him, he did that because he wanted to show his kids who is in charge.

“In order to show my kids who is in charge, I have had to overrule my wife’s decision a few times on almost every aspect of our family life, not in a malicious way though. Just enough to show the kids that I am in charge and my consent or refusal on any issue is final. Even when she says no, the kids will file an appeal with me, I will tell my wife to let them go, and even when she disagrees with me, she will still consent, telling them that if your dad says it’s ok, she can’t say otherwise. One day I over heard the kids plotting to go to the cinema, the youngest one told them to tell mummy first, I know she will say no, then we can ask daddy and tell him mummy said no, he will most certainly always say yes and then mummy must obey, she won’t have a choice. I was flabbergasted, she was just 11 years old at the time. It suddenly dawned on me that I have been played, beaten hands down by my own kids. So when they came to ask my permission, I told them it was up to their mum and whatever she says is final, I cant do anything about it. The look of shock on their faces was priceless. From then on, I became the parent who didn’t have absolute powers any more, we became a team, she did the vetting because she is more thorough and hands-on, she knew each of them more deeply than I did, it was harder to play her. Once she has vetted, she will recommend approval or disapproval and I will act accordingly issuing the final approval or rejecting the appeal. All the things they used to get away with when I was solely in charge became more difficult or impossible.

The moral of the story is simple, empower your wife for effective control of your home, we are too busy battling to make a living, we can’t multitask, however women were created with the capacity to multitask, they can be successful at work and at home. An empowered woman will be respected by your children thus making it easy for her to teach and mentor them. The kids will pick up the slightest signs of disrespect and subjugation of your wife and build on it, this may make it more difficult for her to properly groom them in your mostly unavoidable absences from home. We should always ensure that our wives are not ridiculed or subdued before the children, a wife should be seen as a strong and indispensable component of the family unit.
The kids must see and know that we love and respect their mother and will support all her decisions. They must know that the house is hers, and that getting favours from daddy is dependent on mummy’s approval. Total authority should rest on her especially if she is a homely and virtuous mother. She knows the kids better than you, she shares a special bond with them and will punish them without emotions when they do something wrong. Ensure that the kids especially your daughters see her as the final say in almost all their affairs, her decisions concerning them whether we like it or not will always tow the line of reason. Most daughters won’t like their mum until they become adults, because she loves them and punishes them with the same amount of passion when they err.
I am sapiosexual , so I believe intelligent and powerful women make better wives and most especially mothers. I’d rather have a well accomplished woman mentor my kids than a subdued and voiceless woman, the later can only transfer her bitterness and frustration to the kids. A powerful and accomplished woman boosts her daughters’ confidence and gives them a befitting role model – Sir Stanley Ekezie”

Floyd Mayweather has rescheduled his proposed visit to Nigeria and Ghana to prepare for his 50th battle with UFC champ, Conor McGregor. Last weekend in England, Folarin & Naza's Alakija's white wedding was celebrated with a lavish bash at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire.

Their story has made it to DailyMail and the thousands of pounds Folarin, who is one of Mrs Folorunsho Alakija's four sons, & his Iranian beauty wife Nazanin Jafarian Ghaissarifa spent to have a fairytale wedding also revealed.

Folarin’s mum, Folorunsho Alakija is one of the richest black woman in the world so it's little surprise that Folarin Alakija's wedding was a fairytale affair. 

It has emerged that Folarin & Naza's wedding which held at Blenheim Palace had one million roses which were done by Jeff Leatham.

Jeff commands up to £250,000 (N114million) for flowers and has worked for Madonna, Oprah and Tina Turner. Jeff was also the man behind the flowers at Eva Longoria and Tony Parker’s wedding.

The cost of hiring the whole Woodstock wedding venue, which is the ancestral home of Sir Winston Churchill, is only on application but hiring just the palace and state rooms costs £33,000 (N15million).

A Zimabwean man, Annanias Mambeu (26) stormed into a beerhall naked after he was allegedly caught making love to a married woman in Hwiru Suburb last week.

The married woman Rosemary Mushayi (28) also ran away naked in a different direction after her husband Onward Mudzinganyama unexpectedly arrived home from his base in Harare.

Gulamm Mukumba, a barman at Gulam Bottle Store confirmed the incident and said Mambeu arrived at the bar naked with only a pair of socks.

He said revellers at the bar wanted to beat him up after Mudzinganyama arrived in hot pursuit and poured his heart out on the incident.

Mukumba said he had to lock away Mambeu in a storeroom to protect him from further assault.

The incident happened at around 9pm.

Efforts to get a comment from Mambeu or Mudzinganyama were fruitless. Mushayi was also not available for comment.

Mukumba said he only released Mambeu after the arrival of police and a well-wisher provided him with clothes before he was taken to the Police station.

Mudzinganyama and Mushayi were released by police and Mambeu was detained and charged under Section 41 of the Criminal Law and Codification Act (Conduct likely to cause breach of peace). He was fined $20 and released.

Anne attended the shower to celebrate living with sickle cell and being pregnant. Her words below:

I recently had the honour of celebrating my baby shower in London at the Berkeley Hotel with friends and family; what an unforgettable day! I was showered with so much love to welcome the arrival of my first baby girl, the future sister to my 7 year old son.

As a sickle cell patient, the process of being pregnant has not been easy, but I continue to focus my energy on positive thoughts and discount any negative ones.

Having a successful baby shower means so much to me because I was unable to attend my son's shower as I was rushed to hospital with a severe sickle cell flare up.

This time around, my sisters and I prepared for the worst but hoped for the best.

To our surprise, we were able to celebrate without any distractions and the day could not have gone better.

Thank you to those who have shown such an unbelievable amount of love and support throughout my journey as we welcome our bundle of joy with open arms.

AY's wife, Mabel Makun started a messy drama this morning when she called out Iyanya's ex-girlfriend Freda Francis, and warned her to stay away from her family.

Mabel had also shared a raunchy Whatsapp message supposed between her husband and Freda.

It has emerged that the call out began from AY's page after AY shared this photo from Freda Francis' baby shower last night. AY was in attendance alongside some other celebrities and gushed about a reunion.

Moments later, AY's wife swiftly replied with a comment on her husband's photo, saying this was outright wickedness and she won't take it!

This pretty Nigerian mum, Elly gave birth to ALL her three kids on the same day June 10 but in different years – first child Chizzy was born June 10 in 2007, second child Denzel June 10 in 2009 and last baby Zina arrived June 10 in 2016.

Yesterday was the unique triplets birthday and here are lovely photos their excited mum shared to mark their day. What a triple coincidence!
